Hello Danela,
The theme does not control the information displayed by Google in SERP, it depends on Google if stars rating is displayed or not. I’ve also checked a post from our demo and stars rating appear in search results: http://screencast.com/t/ENBSvhdbYl – http://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/td-post-intel-claims-new-ssd-750-drives-are-its-fastest-ever-for-desktop/
When you make major changes in site’s HTML structure, like switching from one theme to another, Google crawler needs some time until will understand the new structure and some information may not be displayed for a while. Try to regenerate your sitemap and submit it to Google, it may help: https://kb.yoast.com/kb/enable-xml-sitemaps-in-the-wordpress-seo-plugin/
Thanks for your understanding!!
Hello soheyla,
1)More modules will create a block. For more references about this elements, please check our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/theme-blocks-modules/
2)If you will check this guide -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/theme-thumbs/ there you will find which are the thumbs used for each module.
3)You will use The Thumbnails Upscale if you want to enlarge a photo in case of you have an image too small than the thumb used for your modules/blocks and you want that your image to fit all the thumb and the Force Regenerate plugin will be used if you will encounter this issue, like this -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/thumbnails-fix-strange-looking-images-on-blocks/
Hope this helps!
Thanks for your understanding!
1)What is difference between Module and Block? In the Home page I use Block 24.
as shown in this link https://www.screencast.com/t/69CuVlkhfb. Is it Module or block?
2) What size image should I use for my block?(for above shown block)https://www.screencast.com/t/69CuVlkhfb
3) So Should I Thumbnail Upscale and Force Regenerate them to above size?
Hello soheyla,
Also, please notice that each block uses a specific thumb which crops the each featured image from your posts.
Please take a look over the below explanation and try to understand a bit how it works the thumbs in the theme. Please check here ->>
Our theme uses the system of cropping from center to top. The theme uses thumbs to reduce the page size and speed up page loading time. From each image uploaded are generated thumbs for each thumb size utilized by the theme. When a post it’s displayed on the page in a block, the featured image shown is not the one which you uploaded in the media file, it’s a thumb cropped from the original image at the precise dimension. To change the picture orientation most likely you will need a different cropping system. We use a WordPress function – add_image_size() – you can read about it here – https://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/add_image_size – and here – http://www.davidtan.org/wordpress-hard-crop-vs-soft-crop-difference-comparison-example/
Our theme crop (cut) thumbnails in some cases to avoid creating a lot of thumbnails to reduce to load more spaces on the server.
If you don’t have the possibility to upload large images you could use a combination of plugins to upscale the thumbs – Thumbnail Upscale and Force Regenerate. For more information about these kinds of plugins, please consult their documentation here -> https://wordpress.org/plugins/thumbnail-upscale/ -> https://wordpress.org/plugins/regenerate-thumbnails/ Also, please ensure that the functionalities of these plugins are not affected by the other untested plugins that could create interference through the theme. Please notice that these types of plugins are not tested with our theme and we cannot provide support for the theme. We recommend them because a lot of our customer uses and they were satisfied to their functionality.
A primary example you should see here -> http://screencast.com/t/rhIdwe22d2
Thanks for your understanding!
Hello sil2,
After you have turned off the blocks which you do not want to use, you should install the Force Regenerate plugin to remove all of these images created earlier. Most likely, you have 5 different images created because you have enabled some blocks which use 5 different image size. Turn off ALL of them and check the results.
Thanks for your understanding!
Hello jaypee,
I have inspected your website and I did not saw any problem with your images on blocks. All of these seems to work as expected and I did not saw any image which does not fit the thumb. Please provide some useful screenshots with the problem so I can identify it. Also, before this, you should use Thumbnail Regenerate or Force Regenerate to fix this problem if this will appear.
Thanks for the message!
So I have unfortunately only small pictures available.
That’s why I use Regenerate Thumbnails and have Thumbs in 1068 and 696.
Unfortunately, the page is only shown as the original size.
That’s why I want to use in the theme the loop-single.php the size td_696x0 ‘, which is created by regenerated thumbnails. Unfortunately the original image is always displayed.
Just recently bought the theme and looks good so far but the featured image quality of the thumbs make my site look horrible. When you click through to the post the images are more crisp. I’m not sure what it is. When I go back to my old theme the featured images look fine.
I’ve already used the regenerate thumbs plugin, cleared my browser and checked, no change.
I also tried adding this to my functions.php
add_filter('jpeg_quality', function($arg){return 100;});
Still, no luck. Images are important to my website and if I can’t get them to display more crisp then it makes this theme unusable for me.
Thanks,
Michael

Hi Simion,
I have followed what you said.
regenerated the images. I am using a shared server, i dont think they will install the GD library.
Do you have other solutions?
As for the tagDIV composer, any alternatives i can use if i want to display images of my team?
Hi,
It seems the theme is not creating the necessary thumbs for the gallery to display
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/gallery-2/
You could try to regenerate the thumbnails using this guide
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/thumbnails-fix-strange-looking-images-on-blocks/
Also see the important note in the guide, and check if the server has the required GD library installed.
The slide gallery is not intended to be used on pages, only on posts. It may not work properly in this situation. On pages you can use elements from the tagDiv composer.
Thanks
Hi,
Please check if you have these thumbnails enabled in the theme panel
– https://www.screencast.com/t/lfgUM439
If they are not, please enable them. Then using this guide regenerate your thumbnails
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/thumbnails-fix-strange-looking-images-on-blocks/
Also take note of the requirement for the server side and see if the mentioned GD library is installed on the server.
Thanks
Hi,
Please enable in the theme panel the thumbnail sizes required for the modules
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/theme-thumbs/
Then use this guide to regenerate the thumbnails
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/thumbnails-fix-strange-looking-images-on-blocks/
After the regeneration process is complete clear any caching installed on your website. Now the thumbnails should display properly.
Thanks
Hello, thanks for the great theme that is Newspaper! Onto my issue: by default Newspaper has Retina images turned off. I turned them on for all blocks and sizes, and regenerated all thumbnails, as per the instructions you’ve left. However, what I’m continuing to get on both Microsoft Edge and Chrome, are the lower-res versions. I’ve tried clearing the browser cache, but it didn’t change anything. Only on Firefox, the pictures are indeed Retina-quality. My website is at http://www.gamerdino.com. Please let me know what I should do in order to fix this issue, so that all browsers start showing the Retina image variants. Thank you!

Do you need any other information?
Hi I managed to fix point 2 from css.
Regarding point 1 I tried to do Regenerate thumbnails but nothing happens. Look at the detail of the Post the image has a different dimension and you see well: http://www.degreesoflatitude.com/the-editor/because-we-share-the-same-world-welcome-to-degrees-of -latitude /.
You can see the category here: http://www.degreesoflatitude.com/category/the-editor/
Instead, in the home of the category is much more magnified and you see it all cut. How do you do it? I tried to regenerate but it did not go. Why is this difference between category and detail?
Thanks
Hello 2rybinsk,
You can use this guide to regenerate the thumbnails if they are not displaying properly
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/thumbnails-fix-strange-looking-images-on-blocks/
After the regeneration process is complete, please clear any caching installed.
Thanks for the message!
Hello,
1) This happens because you did not regenerate thumbs so the full image is used on that block. Please use this guide: https://forum.tagdiv.com/thumbnails-fix-strange-looking-images-on-blocks/
2) I’m not sure what gradient you are referring to. I think you are referring to the grid style: https://forum.tagdiv.com/category-grid-styles/ Yopu can choose anotehr grid style from block settings: https://forum.tagdiv.com/block-settings-tutorial/
Thank you!
All the thumbnails are regenerated. The fact is that all my website is a mess now. Hundreds of photos are all cut. The “On click action” is “open pretty photo”, but what is doing is sending me at the top of the page.
*Not working here*
Did you try to regenerate thumbnails? You may try it with this plug-in: https://wordpress.org/plugins/regenerate-thumbnails/
Hi,
The only solution is to regenerate the thumbnails to create the proper image sizes needed for the modules
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/theme-thumbs/
The method mentioned has worked and is working for other users that had this problem with the thumbnails. If you have tested with a new post and the thumbnail is created properly, then the theme is working fine. It is just a matter of regenerating the older ones, which should work with either of the regenerating tools mentioned.
Thanks
Hi,
I suggested that you simply deactivate the plugins, then make a test post to see if the thumbnail is generated properly. Something is wrong with the thumbnail on your website, they are not created as it should. As shown in my test with one of your images, this is how the thumbnail should look – https://www.screencast.com/t/6rQghyAtNhc
Maybe a plugin is interfering with this, that is why I suggested to test while having only the mentioned plugins active.
Also maybe you could try this tool to regenerate the thumbnails again
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/thumbnails-fix-strange-looking-images-on-blocks/
If you cannot manage to solve this issue, please send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide admin login information so we can take a look. Also paste a link to this topic so we can identify you.
Thanks
Hi,
I suggest you disable all your plugins except Visual composer and the regenerate plugin. Then try creating a test post and add a featured image to it. Then check to see if the proper thumbnail is displayed on a test page with a block. If it is not, try to regenerate just that thumbnail in the media library – https://www.screencast.com/t/hlBsY1d46h46 and check again.
Thanks
we use featured images …to the post… with the recent additional features and with the latest theme i have re-generated thumbnails using the plugin “Force Regenerate Thumbnails” which created all this misalignments
Thanks for your time
Basic follow up recommendations are already provided by the developers. I will give you some additional tips (considering you are using the mobile theme plugin already):
1. Optimize images
>Reduce the size of files just before uploading. Use this software- Caesium, and set quality to 80 (i set 60-80 depending on existing size). Resize image to 1280 maximum, unless you really need to show images with high quality.
>Use Wp Smush and regenerate thumbnail plugin.
2. Use a CDN– Cloudfare is free. Its easy to set up too.
3. Https support– trust me, its really good. You can always google https vs http to find why https is good. You can get a FREE SSL certificate from Cloudfare indeed and implement it on your website.
4. Remove query strings– so far, i use Remove Query Strings From Static Resources plugin to fix it. Query strings are actually calling server for something specific.
5. Use WP Super cache (supported by theme) and Cloudfare and yes, GTMetrix plugin. These 3 will make your website god of speed.
6. Heartbeat control– its pretty much for reducing load on your server, not recommended if you can’t implement it properly.
7. Wp Optimize– cleans out waste garbage in your database.
Hope this helps. I personally tested them all out. So far, i just couldn’t figure out a way to fix those etags.
