Hey again Marius.

I know it is alot to ask for but instead of showing the whole biography/description, could it show only a preview of it on the authors page and then the full description when you go to the author page?

It would be so awsome to have this feature and again. thanks for your brilliant help and work.

Hi Marius,

thanks for the first reply. An improved rating system would be fantastic. I will wait for it.

About #3. The code wasn’t working. But after looking at your example I could figure it out:

ul.td-category {
display: none !important;
}

Thanks again,
Norman

Hi,
1. Sorry about that but is not possible and the review stars work only with full starts. We want to improve the review system in future updates. Until that if you want something more complex you can use some payed plugins for review.

2. No sorry, we know it would be nice to have some templates that you can use it, instead of each time to add the attributes every time.

3. To hide the categories from top you can use this CSS, add it in Theme panel -> Custom CSS section

.category .td-category {
    display: none;
}

Thanks for the understanding.

Hi,

I am mainly writing reviews on my site and use the percentage option of the theme. I have some suggestions that would make my life easier…

1.) Is it possible to display the number of the overall review (89%) instead of the stars on the category pages and frontpage? And if not is it at least possible to display the correct rating value in the stars (right now its either 4 or 5 stars but never 4,5).

2.) Is it possible to define default values for the rating criteria because I am always using the same criteria and have to type them every time for every single post.

3.) Could you please consider an theme panel option that allows it to disable the categories below of the post title. You already have such thing for tags but I couldn’t find it for categories.

Thanks for the amazing work on the theme so far.

It’s in just the right place for our sites. We’d rather have folks continue to read related content, and see the author bio, than add comments. Most people by now know how to scroll in a web browser or “swipe up” on a tablet.

FYI: this is why theme developers make “demo sites” so you can look at how the elements appear on the pages.

Hey i have created an Author Box on a page where i want to have all my author’s lined up.

Is it possible to change the layout of the author box module? i want it to look like Block 6 for example. so i will get the author picture, a preview of the text. how can i do this?

It’s really “wicked cool” ! I had seen this on couple of websites and was thinking “how did they do THAT” … then ran across mention of it from Smashing mag (good place to follow on Twitter, btw). Checked it. Went, “hey!” and bookmarked for future review.

How to implement – it’s really a CSS like Bootstrap, along with the calls to the post permalink from the WP post, dropped into bottom of page hook. So:
Well…. likely a php file to include with calls to the post permalink, or a function. Not sure. Something RADU could look at for 3.5 perhaps 😉

That worked. Thanks a lot.

I have to do this everytime you update the file in any upcoming theme update, right?

Hello,

Great theme, I really love it but am wondering about 2 things I can’t seem to figure out and are not included in the documentation.

1. How can we hide the main menu? There is an option in the admin panel for “No Menu” but when that option is chosen there’s still a menu with a persistent message saying “Click here for menu” (something like that). How can I get rid of this message and the main menu altogether?

2. In the live preview of Newspaper, there is a floating pop-up article once you scroll down to the bottom of the screen, how can we enable this? Is it a widget?

Thank you for all the hard work!

Hi,

I’m sorry for the long delay, I’ve missed your message here.

If you are still interested to modify the theme, you can try to delete this:

Hi Radu,

I do have a follow up question: I am going to convert my taxonomies to categories. For that each taxonomy will become a parent categorie and each taxonomy item will become a child.

Is it possible to only display child categories on posts below of the post title even if the parent category is selected in the backend?

Best,
Norman

Hi Radu,

thanks for the honest reply. I that case I will convert my taxonomies back to categories. I prefer using the inbuild functions as they will be compatible with any future update and improvement.

best regards,
Norman

hi,

1. you can translate that via the theme panel -> translation
2. I tried several times to integrate custom taxonomies with our blocks but as it turns out it’a very hard to make such a system work with all the combinations. Unfortunately we don’t have current plans to update the blocks to support custom taxonomies 😐

I think that the theme can be easily modified by a good wordpress developer to take full advantage of wordpress taxonomies.

Hi,

I am using Simple Taxonomy to create and manage my taxonomies. Unfortunately the taxonomy title and description is not displayed on those pages. e.g. http://www.brettspiele-magazin.de/erscheinungsjahr/2014/

1.) Is it somehow possible to display “Erscheinungsjahr 2014” instead of “Archives”?
2.) Do you plan to integrate taxonomy pages in the template setting so that they can be customized with the same blocks list categories?

Regards,
Norman

Hi,
Should work from CSS, add it in Custom CSS panel

.post .entry-review-stars {
     display:none;
}

Thanks!

Marius

Sorry, just noticed that the STARS still appear at the top of each post with a review on under the title:

http://connecteddigitalhome.com/2014/02/02/review-resogun/

how can I remove those as well please?

thanks

Andrew

Typically you’d use the recaptcha plugin or similar which hooks into Google’s recaptcha API -or- an alternative. This one has gotten some good reviews, but I’ve not yet tried it. http://wordpress.org/plugins/botdetect-wp-captcha/

we’ve used this one for years, but it looks like the person managing it is moving on to other things; note that since Google has started doing plugins for WP, they make take it on: http://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-recaptcha/

the developer of that has recommended looking at this as an alternative

thanks Marius – white space removed 🙂

and you are right, the other part is not clean so I will leave it.

thanks for your help

Hi,
To remove the white space add this in CSS

.td_review_with_bars {
    display: none;
}

To move the review box at the end of the post is quite impossible as the social box is rendered directly at the end of the post(in content). I tried from CSS but is not a clean solution, is without space and I’m not sure it works in IE7,8.

http://screencast.com/t/OKsJB6lyKxD

Use this CSS:

.td-review {
    display: table-header-group;
}
.socialize-containter {
    display: table-cell;
}

Thanks!
