Hi guys,
First of all congratulations for your great theme, i bought Newspaper a few months ago and i only found the courage to remake my website last month.
So, as you can guess i met tons of details that need to be cleared, even after reading the documentation.
Please can you help me with these questions ?
1. If the plugin Disqus is activated, the main menu bar takes long time to appears, how to resolve that ?
2. Is it possible to modify the size of the top menu bar ? Can’t find this option in the TagDiv Composer,
3. Is it possible to change the order of the social medias ? (on the top menu for exemple),
4. When i try to change the H2 title style, to make it bold from the theme panel, it doesn’t looks like it works,
5.I have 3 articles at the top of the welcome page (Big Grid Flex 4), then the list of the newest article (Posts Loop) : is it possible to start this second list, with exception of N-3 article ? In other words, to start this Posts Loops from the 4th newest article, to avoid repeating the top 3 newest articles,
6. Is it possible to parameter a template page for all pages at once ? Because for now it looks only possible one by one,
7. Is it possible to make a background video without Vimeo or Youtube ? For exemple a local video, or it would be too heavy ?
8. Is the plugin “Lazy load by WP Rocket” is still usefull if the lazy load option included in the theme is actived ?
9.The Flex Box 1 element is not responsive, it appears well on the computer but not on my smartphone : do you have a solution please ?
10. The sidebar widget looks like it appears different from the native theme widget, for exemple the title : how it is possible to have the same widget title style for everything ?
11. On Chrome with a resolution of 1366*768, i have to unzoom to have full complete page composer and make the scrollbar to appear, do you know about this bug ?
12. How is it possible to disable the arrow in each title of the main menu when i choose to activate the mega sub-menu ?
I know it may be a long email but i have all my questions here 🙂

How to make a sticky ad in the sidebar of the homepage?
I enabled the option Smart Sidebar on the theme panel but only works in the sidebar of posts.
In the settings of the ad box, I inserted “td-ss-row” in Extra class, as I saw in a tutorial, but it didn’t worked.

Hey, trying to get the smart sidebar to work on some pages. It seems to be working on category, tag, and post pages. But if we add a widgetize sidebar in visual composure, it doesnt work. How do we get that to work? We have a slightly different sidebar layout on some pages to include some ads, so we need a bit of flexibility there. Thanks!

First please check if there is a sidebar set for the posts – https://prnt.sc/omuskq

If you have created sidebars, please try to not use various characters in their names

For our site, oncozine.com, I’m noticing that on all posts that have a smart sidebar, the sidebar will shake when you scroll towards the bottom of the page. Thank you for reaching us! If you want to create a sidebar for the homepage, please note that you will need to use the Widgetised Sidebar element for this creating. 1. Please make sure that you do not have the child theme activate, if you have the child theme the post template will not longer apply.
2. Please check our documentation for sticky sidebars, also make sure that the smart sidebar is enable in Theme panel> Templates settings -> https://www.screencast.com/t/Kga12OyehrB

4. Indeed the share text in tagDiv Composer will not hide when you’ll check the option, but if you’ll set the single post template on a post , clear all cache this should be hide.

I checked many sites using ads in the smart sidebar, its floating and sticky.
Theme panel option for smart bar ads says- “Google’s policy doesn’t allow placing the ad in a “floating box”, you can read more about it here.”
I checked the link and nothing is there about such ads unit.
can someone please confirm if this policy has been changed by google and can now we use smart sidebar ads?

Unfortunately it is not possible with the basic functions from NewsPaper or WordPress. But as i’ve searched a bit you can achieve this with a plugin. We haven’t tested any plugin so we cannot recommend but as long as you make a backup you can feel free to test plugins. This one looks promising but you will have to test it:

I’ve made some quick tests with this plugin and it’s pretty simple to work with but i can see it has a bug with the smart sidebar, so if you don’t want the smart sidebar i think this will be great.

Yeah, actually I edited the composer parts like that. But I cannot reach “smart sidebar” whics is scrolling with the page simultaneously via TD Composer. I couldn’t find a way to change the layout of this. I want to change it if I can.
As you can see, there is actually no option. I would love to change all thumbnails to 16:9 format.

I am trying to figure out how to make a good website. So far so good. But there is a problem. With Tagdiv Composer, I was able to change the image range to make it fit in there. But with sidebar, I can not change the Image size. My all images are in 16:9 format. Here is the image showing the problem;

Hello! I have decided to go to a no-sidebar look for my entire site. I have removed all the widgets from the sidebar, and turned “Smart Sidebar” to Off, but the space is still allocated.
Also, on some pages I was still getting a sidebar, even with the sidebar setting to None.
Thoughts?
