Any date for the release of the theme update?

Ignore the 500 error; that happens when you change or update themes without using a ‘under maintenance plugin’ — just mark fixed, and ignore 🙂

We have BuddyPress User Blog installed on our site to allow normal users to write and submit articles (i.e. posts).

After a little time, the “Create New Post Page” stopped displaying the editor for entering, editing and submitting posts. The page displays the header and footer, but the part of the page that is generated by the BuddyPress User Blog is blank.

When I changed the theme to the default Twenty Seventeen theme, the “Create New Post Page” displays the editor and everything generated by the BuddyPress User Blog plugin.

We need help with this urgently!

We’ve even updated the theme to the latest version (i.e. 8.6), yet the issue remains.

New update.
I pressed f12 -> console to see if there were any errors. There were, 3 related to HTPS.
I went to cloudflare and disabled SSL, and everything is working. But if i put it on “Flexible”, it doesnt work. Neither works the website on full, of course.

I would like having the HTTPS, but i need to desactivate it for having the theme working. any ideas? thanks in advance

If there are images there you can also use ‘Auto Post Thumbnail’ plugin to select the first one to be featured image.

@Simion
C. If you replace any of the placeholder images surely these will be over written during a theme update. Yes we can use a child theme but it is a bit more complicated when you replace images in an existing path name. I’m guessing there is a way to do this by loading that image folder separately. Any tips please?

Any updates here? I have the same problems and the extra generated urls with the /2 or /3 are not directly linkable. I only get 404 errors. This is not so user-friendly.

Hello,

After I updated to 8.6 I have the following the problems:

1. The search button from the main menu went now on the second line. I tried everything I was aware of to move it back on the same line as the menu buttons, but without success. Here’s a screenshot https://i.imgur.com/QUivkWc.jpg
This kinda broke the entire layout on my website and had to disable the search for now, until a fix is found.

2. The new sharing icons doesn’t seem to work. No matter what style I choose, it doesn’t change in the front-end. Moreover, it looks quite bad. I tried about 6 styles and none of them had any effect.
Here’s how it always looks: https://i.imgur.com/ypvA4kW.jpg (horrible, right?)
For example, currently I am using style 3. Proof: https://i.imgur.com/iH2ueWj.jpg

Any ideas about what causes these glitches and how I can fix them?
If needed, I can temporarily re-enable both elements and even provide admin access.

Hi,

Thanks for the help, but I tested all styles available and none of them was like the old update.

Hi,

Much has changes since the version you are using. WordPress and theme should always be kept up to date. Each update will provide improvements.
We do not have a theme install department unfortunately, but you could try it yourself.
You could update the theme using this guide
https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/
The FTP method would be the most recommended in the matter. Make a backup before, it is always recommended to do so.
Update WordPress (if you did not already) as well as the theme included plugins. Let us know if you should encounter any problems.
A thing to note is that the tagDiv composer plugin will be activated by default when you make the update. Visual composer specific elements may not display properly, deactivate the tagDiv composer if this happens.

Thanks

Hello vamsinani24,

Please keep in mind that the Mobile Theme has been tested with the multipurpose plugins and works as expected, without any problems. Try to disable all of the untested plugins which can interact with the theme core files and causes a lot of unknown issues. Also, make sure that your theme has been updated if you want to achieve best theme results.

Thanks for your understanding!

Hello now4dw,

Make sure that you are using the latest version of the theme and all of the required plugins has been updated with the latest version of them, clear all the caches, purge all CDN files if you are using the Cloudflare, clear the browser caches and check the results.

Thanks for the message!

Hi,

There were no changes in that matter in the update. Pressing enter in the post content is like this for me

Please correct me if I misunderstand the issue.

Hi,

The theme was tested with PHP versions up to 7.1 higher versions are known to cause issues. Please try and use this version and there would not be any problem. In future updates the theme will support higher versions.

Thanks

Hi,

1. On mobile, mega-menus will not be displayed. The mobile menu is limited to drop-down style. Some of the menu items in the header menu do not link anywhere on desktop and on mobile. If these are categories please re-add them in the menu as categories
https://www.screencast.com/t/VbJqb7X7
If they are custom links add a link to them
https://www.screencast.com/t/wGu51kcH2LBY
So they would lead somewhere on the website. Regardless of mobile plugin used or not, the mobile menu will still look the same in design. A difference would be that if the mobile plugin is used, a different menu can be set for mobile
https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-mobile-theme/
Page content built with composers will not be displayed on mobile if the mobile plugin is used. Mobile pages are restricted to the mobile editor.
The mobile theme is intended to present a lighter version of the website, optimized for mobile devices. There will be predefined front page templates, category page, post page etc.

2. You could add the link in the description field of the team member element
https://www.screencast.com/t/zLGIA9ZW9ecE
There are no dedicated options to add links in this element, or the other information you mention, except the description field.
The composer will receive more options and feature over future updates however.

If that option does not appear for you, in almost all similar cases plugins were to blame. There could be a plugin installed that is responsible. Only way to check is by deactivating all plugins except theme plugins. Then see if the option appears.

Thanks

i’ve created this new post
but i’ve got the same problem in an older post :
https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/tag-div-composer-infinite-load-since-update-from-8-5-1-to-8-6-today/#new-post

SINCE
i’ve tried to switch to main-theme and :

.disable/delete TD-Composer from Newspaper 8.6 file
.downgrade WP 4.9.1 to 4.9
.install TD-Composer from Newspaper 8.5.1 file
.clear cache (wp super cache)

.disable/delete TD-Composer from Newspaper 8.5.1 file
.downgrade WP 4.9 to 4.8.4
.install TD-Composer from Newspaper 8.5 file
.clear cache (wp super cache)

= all this manipulations = no change

BUT, from there (WP 4.8.4 + TD-Composer from Newspaper 8.5 file)
i’ve just upgraded WP 4.8.4 to 4.9.1
(without disable/delete & reinstall TD-Composer)
and at this moment, TD-Composer works again !!!

i said to myself “great, i succeed’ and decide to touch anything anymore
i was able to make some changes with TD-Composer
and close it after, normally

after hours using my WP for my website
(i didn’t install or remove any plugins or whatelse during this time)
i just decide by curiosity to launch TD-Composer (clearing cache before)
and there TD-Composer collapse again, infinite load, etc..

from there, i just tried to :
disable/delete/re install TD-Composer from Newspaper 8.5 file
(clear cache)
and TD-Composer works again, until now

I don’t understand what happens, all i constat it’s all my WP is very very slow after using hours (because of my subscription on my provider, that’s ok) but TD-Composer too since upgrade to 8.6, i can’t explain it. All my ‘Newspaper system status’ is green with 128mb/request of WP Memory Limit.

After I reinstall update 8.6 and again clear all the cache files (WP-Super Cache) and purge Cloudflare, everything is OK now.

Hi, Catalin it seems to display correctly in all browsers with the exception of chrome which is the one I use to update the site with. I’ve tried to edit the pages using other browsers and it triples my work time as when copying pages it loses all font tags etc so they have to be manually changed again. Here are two screenshots of the same page and a third of what it looks like when being edited.

All 3 links are the exact same code and page used.

1) How it should look and does in ie or firefox
https://www.freedailyracetips.com/screenshot2_ie.jpg

2)How it looks while editing the horizontal rules are there but not visible which makes it impossible to edit.
https://www.freedailyracetips.com/screenshot_editing.jpg

3) How it looks when viewing in chrome, I have never used any other browser to edit or view the site prior to the update. The only thing that has changed is your update.
https://www.freedailyracetips.com/screenshot_chrome.jpg

Chrome is up to date as is all other software I have no choice but to keep the site active. I am however able to install a clean copy onto our sister site and use a site url redirect.

Hi,

The Revolution slider version provided in the theme package is 5.4.6.3.1, that would not be the latest version it seems. We will include the latest slider plugin version in the next them update. Sorry for this inconvenience.

Thanks

Hi,

Seems I missed the last question, sorry for that. In a previous WordPress update they decided to remove the justify text option for the post editor. You could enable this again with the help of a plugin, here is a guide
http://www.wpbeginner.com/plugins/how-to-add-underline-and-justify-text-buttons-in-wordpress/
The first one mentioned in the guide seems to work from what I can see
https://www.screencast.com/t/v4KPdkLKPAjl
The theme has some quote styles available
https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/blockquotes-pullquotes/
These are found under Formats
https://www.screencast.com/t/1InyWNJP

Hi,

You could try the solution from this topic for loop ads
https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/ads-on-category-pages/
At the moment the theme does not have specific settings for this type of ads. They might be implemented in future updates.

Thanks

Hi,

After the latest update to 8.6, our mobile theme has been giving us this eror only visible, when you are logged in: https://puu.sh/yXrj1/cd28e0510f.png

It is right below the main image. It also shows at the bottom:

https://puu.sh/yXrkj/06b3db1760.png

It says something about Style7 not being set as well as wrap_classes not set.

This is what I have done so far:
– Fresh install of theme
– Fresh install of all plugins
– Removed all modifications from custom code
– Disabled plugins

The issue still persist, but only in the mobile theme. I tried both 1.0 and 1.1 versions.

Do you have any idea what might be causing it? I also tried the multi-purpose plugin and I also tried it without it.

Hi,

Some of the socials will be automatically hidden when there is not enough available space to display them all
https://www.screencast.com/t/rwJRwysFL8
https://www.screencast.com/t/nSng9NItQbL
This happens by default, it cannot be disabled. If there are problems with the new sharing please clear all caches after the update, purge CDN files if used. Clear browser cache as well.

Thanks
