I agree with @natagrit
Maybe, you can add this functionality in the next update.
Just a menu in the WordPress Admin called Slider Order or something like that, you enter there and it lists all the slider modules and in what page you are using it.
Then enter there and select the content you want to show.
My client just need to admin sliders in an easy way to show some news statically in the slider.
Give them the Theme Panel Admnistration is not a very good idea, they can easily break the site!
This is just a suggestion, hope you can add this functionality soon!
Regards!
Mauricio.
How I can turn on Modal Image as default, instead of edit/update each picture to turn on Modal Image?
Hi,
The recommended editor to be used is the tagDiv composer
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/tagdiv-composer-tutorial/
This composer can only be used for pages. Visual composer is meant to be used only for pages as well in the theme
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-use-visual-composer/
In future theme updates, more options and features will be added exclusively for the tagDiv composer.
Having both editors active can cause layout issues, elements specific to Visual composer will not display property when the tagDiv composer is active. There is a level of similarity between the two editors, in order to make the transition to the new editor easier
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/visual-composer-tagdiv-composer-transition/
Thanks
Hi,
That layout issue could by solved by deactivating the tagDiv composer from your plugins section. This editor is automatically activated when the theme is updated or installed.
Having both composers active can cause this kind of issues.
For the theme panel saving issues, maybe you have restrictions installed or firewalls that block the process. If it works on other computers that means the issue is locally.
Thanks
It’s some sort of misunderstanding happening.
I know how to embed video in a simple post templates – I just add Media, and upload the video to the server, and it works. BUT, I want to add LOCAL video to the VIDEO POST TEMPLATES, so the video would be at the FEATURED VIDEO location, of those post templates.
“Featured Video
Featured Video will work only if you are using Video Format.
To set a Featured Video for your post just place your Youtube, Vimeo, Dailymotion or Facebook video link in the required featured video post box.
Video Format is perfect if you have a video and you want to show it in the beginning of your post.
On pages, the video preview displayed will be generated automatically. After you update the post you can see the generated preview image in the Featured Image post box.
Note: You should use Featured Video only on:
Post Style Default
Post Style 1
Post Style 2
Post Style 9
Post Style 10
Post Style 11”
So the WORDPRESS does support local video embed. The THEME does not, because when I enter the URL of local video, it shows nothing at the featured video place of the video post theme.
I think we did something on one site for that,
we made an index.php file that had a refresh header …
although I think we then instead did an htaccess file for the them folder,
and did 301 redirect for index.php to home page of site. Something like that.
Downside is you need to replace those each time theme is updated.
Or, just grimace when you do theme update and month later see that single entry in your search console. I usually just go “(sigh) … stupid Google…”
I mean, how stupid do you have to be in the data mining business to not auto-ignore /wp-content/themes/ for indexing ANYTHING? Duh.
Hello,
I know this question might not fully relate to you but I thought of asking you as well.
Yesterday I bought an SSl certificate for my but it still doesn’t display
the padlock and https on the browser.
According to my hosting service, Hostgator, this is what they say, ‘There are non-secure items on your website and this is the reason you are receiving the orange lock. This can be fixed by updating your image and page links to include the HTTPS prefix. Once all non-secure items are updated, this should fix the broken padlock.’
Well I was wondering whether there’s a solution you know, or a plugin that can fix this issue.
Thank you

Deactivate and delete old plugins.
Install plugins from theme package inside the ../Newspaper-tf/plugins folder.
Hi, today i upgrated to Newspaper 8.1.
What is the best way to update the td- plugins?
Have i to update them?
Thanks
Sebastian
Hello Evecta,
Please keep in mind that what you want to do is a BIG update and the theme will be broken because it is totally another theme, sorry!
In order to achieve the best results after you will install the latest update you have to follow some rigorous steps like this -> you have to delete both of your themes, child theme, and main theme. All your customizations from your Newspaper 4 theme will do not work because all the files from this were changed in Newspaper 8.1 and as the main theme and also you lose all changes.
The Newspaper 8.1 is a whole new theme so an update from 4 to 8.1 may cause the same issues as switching to another theme (but we did try to maintain compatibility where ever possible).
Always make a full backup of your current installation – https://codex.wordpress.org/WordPress_Backups and then do a clean update, meaning that we recommend that you delete the old version of the theme before uploading the new one – https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/ update also the plugins that come bundled with the theme files from the /plugins folder. In the “how to update” guide is specified that you will have to run the script that will import from database your settings.
The shortcodes have been changed so old ones will not work anymore. Please note that old files customization or custom CSS will not work with the new version and you will have to adjust or re-add them. Bottom line is that newspaper 8.1 is a whole new theme built from scratch.
Unfortunately, you will have to clear your agenda and spare a bit of time to adjust all your settings to the new version of the theme.
Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!
Thank you for the message!
How do we display the users on post last updated ?. in my case when i update any post it shows the old date and not the updated date. Example – https://imgur.com/a/UC7ai
I appreciate you trying to help, but you still don’t understand. I’m not trying to make any changes, and I don’t need any custom services. Your theme has not been working properly since the last update.
I’ll go through it step by step. Here’s my main menu (with nothing in the top menu):
Screenshot 1
I now add an item to the Top Header Menu.
Screenshot 2
I click save, and everything from my main menu gets automatically added to the Top Header Menu even though I didn’t select it and don’t want it.
Screenshot 3
See the problem? Now, my menus are exactly the same. That shouldn’t happen. It didn’t work that way previously. So I delete the extra items and click save.
Screenshot 4
Now look at the Main Menu. Everything is gone.
Screenshot 5
I add everything back to the Main Menu, and the item from my Top Menu is automatically added even though I didn’t select it.
You can see on the website that the menus are exactly the same. Please reply with any suggestions asap. Thank you.

Hi,
Please check our changelog from Theme Forest because there you will found all of the information regarding on theme update to 8.1 version and there you can see which exact files have been changed. Look at this -> https://www.screencast.com/t/2rLsaXwt -> https://themeforest.net/item/newspaper/5489609
Also, notice that our recommended way of theme installing is doing it via FTP way because this is the best and surest way in this case. Check here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/ The latest theme update was deeply tested and it should work as expected, without any problems.
Thanks for your understanding!
Hi,
The website http://wedames.com is using the Newspaper theme of yours.
Recently it keeps redirecting to the spam website and when i deactivate the Newspaper theme from the website, it works fine.
I just upload the updated version of the theme and the redirects still occur.
How can i solve this issue?
Thanks,
Zaharah
Might not be best solution, but what we did on one website was actually upload supplemental images via FTP then only did featured image via the WP media manager.
In theory you could likely ‘hack’ the theme function with an ‘if featured image, then make thumbs’ element. Might be useful “suggestion” for future update, actually.
This happens when you update theme or main WordPress …
nothing to fix; normally you will have one of these, unless hacker slamming that directory. So, with one you just mark as ‘fixed’ and move on.
That should so be in the WP documentation — which they are finally going to redo (won’t be called ‘codex’ any more for 2018!). 🙂
the tagDiv composer is not compatible with ninja forms. When I activate the composer, then I lose my forms. Will this be updated soon to resolve the conflict? the form that wont display when TD Composer is activated is: http://destinationdivatravel.com/booking
The theme includes a license for this plugin so you don’t have to buy it.
You don’t have to activate the plugin license, it’s already activated.
You don’t have to worry about the plugin update warnings.

Hi again, thank you so much! As soon as I have a minute I will try to do the update as you say, and will come back to say it worked, I´m sure!
Catalin,
We made the updates you suggested, but, we are still not able to import a test homepage. Can you let me know if there is anything else we should be doing?
Hi, I’ve updated from Newspaper 6.7 to 8. After doing so, the main menu appears acccording to the configuration, but it also displays expanded on top of the page! How can I fix this? I’ve tried changing header configuration, importing the “old” configuration and it just doesn’t work. You can see the page at jesus24x7.org
Thanks.
David
I need some guidance on what is/is not affected by updating. The help documentation and videos are ambiguous, imo good examples of information being provided by people who already know the answers and find it difficult to put themselves in the mindset of people who don’t. My points may seems obvious to tech people, but are not to me, and judging by the number of post-update-panic-posts in the forums, they are not to many other users too.
For me, upgrading to 8.0 went from the quick and easily hour set aside indicated by the video, to a weekend of my life I will never see again. I want to avoid the same again. By example in your docs it says “Once you activate a different theme, delete the Newspaper theme. Don’t worry, your content will not be lost.” The documentation also mentions code. But nowhere does it mention the effect on the hugely important and time consuming settings?
So i would appreciate it if you could clarify which of these headings will be affected by updating (and ideally any steps to be taken post update). I’ve started with the two I think I am clear on …
EFFECT OF UPDATING
Bespoke Code (including, but not necessarily limited to, anything entered into theme panel/custom code and theme panel/mobile theme/custom code): All will be overwritten. Must be copied out and re-applied.
Content (posts and pages): No effect, all will be retained.
Theme Panel Settings (all under header, footer, ads, layout and misc): ??? (if they are affected can the export/import settings tool be used – it states ‘to copy to another server’, and does not specify whether it would work between different theme versions. Is there anything not included in that settings export?
Mobile Theme: ???
Visual and TagDiv Pagebuilder elements used on posts & pages: ???
Demo Theme: ???
Licence key/activation: ???
METHOD OF UPDATING
in the documentation it gives alternative methods of updating, without any indication any are better than others. However i have noticed that in the forum when problems occur it is often stated that people should re-upgrade using the ftp method. does this indicate that the ftp method is more stable/reliable way of updating? I expect many of us will go for what appears the easiest method (wordpress) but if we knew ftp was a better way would jump through the extra hoops to do it that way.
I hope you can see that armed with that information I can see whether the benefits of an upgrade are worth the potential hassle, and also get a better idea of the realistic time it will take.
Thank you.
Hi,
We are very sorry for this situation. Please try the solution from this topic
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/problem-after-update-3/#post-187032
Then clear any installed caching, and check if the problem is still occurring after deactivating the tagDiv composer. Please let us know the result.
Thanks
Hi,
Please go to the plugins section and deactivate the tagDiv composer plugin. This editor is activated automatically when the theme is installed or updated
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/tagdiv-composer-tutorial/
Some elements are affected by having both Visual composer and tagDiv composer active.
Thanks
Hi,
If you want to use the Visual composer editor further, you can deactivate and delete the tagDiv composer editor from the plugins section. Please note that it will be installed and activated automatically when the theme is installed and updated

Thanks
