Hi,
I believe traffic drops are a common issue with websites, and they may be temporary. The cause can be many factors as well. Try analyzing the issue further, use this guide for example
– https://blog.kissmetrics.com/diagnosing-traffic-drops-using-google-analytics/
Try to identify what exactly is the cause for the problem. There are some similar topics on the forum here that you could read
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/google-analytics-reporting-drop-in-traffic-after-updating-to-6/
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/eye-opener-and-advice/
Update the theme using this guide
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/
Verify the analytics code in the theme panel to be set properly, and monitor the development over a period of time. Check if everything works and displays properly after the update.
Thanks
When I click on “Update Available”, it doesn’t work! Check the screenshot: http://prntscr.com/g74hfp

ello,
Please note that the theme has to be updated along with WordPress and plugins. Old versions can have security breaches and these can be exploited by different tools.
The old version from prior to April 2016 had a security issue which was patched in 6.7.2. Similarly WordPress prior to 4.7 is insecure.
Please make sure you update your theme, plugins and WordPress and do not stick to old versions.
If you have been the victim of an attack, update your theme immediately to the latest version and use one of these guides:

Hello,
Using such an old version of the theme is extremely risky.

Hi,
Please make sure you have updated the Woocommerce plugin as well. Try using the page installer again to recreate the pages
– https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/woocommerce-pages/
Check the official documentation of Woocommerce for more useful information

Thanks
Hi,
Maybe the theme did not update properly. Please try and reinstall the theme by FTP
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/
Then deactivate all plugins except theme plugins. If a child theme is used, switch to the main theme. Do not add any custom code to the theme files, or modify it in any way. Then check if the post settings work properly.
If the problem is still there please send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide admin login information so we can take a look.
Also paste a link to this topic in your email.
Thanks
After updating from version 7 to the latest version 8.x, our site doesn’t look right – it’s missing most of the images and thus is mostly white background. We are using a Newspaper child theme – should all the code in the child theme be compatible with the new version of Newspaper?
I had saved the old Newspaper folder before upgrading, so I deleted the new folder and put the old one back (but keeping all of the updated plugins intact), and now all seems to be back to normal. But I’d still like to upgrade to the latest version.
Any suggestions?
Also, are there any issues in keeping both Visual Composer and TD Composer activated?
Thanks!
Hi,
I use the pratical example in order to use a plugin and use API to make new category template (for only one category).
It works, but I would like if it’s possible to disable pagination in the category which use the category template with the plugin?
As I see on the forum, certainly we could make a modification of category.php with a IF (and the good ID category)… but before I prefer to know if it’s possible to use a code… because if one day I will update the theme with the category.php, so I don’t lose this function.
Thank you in advance for your help!

Hi,
I have updated to latest version of the theme and immediately I can see that the main image that display on the home page on the travel theme no longer displays.
Please see: http://www.eholidayexpert.com/
You will see a grey blank area instead of the image.
The image is still set in the correct place within the page: https://snag.gy/KA0unX.jpg
Please can you advise how I can fix this ASAP as my site currently has no main image.
Thanks
Regards
Simon
Curious if there is any update to this? We’re using 2 instances of the Newspaper theme, and this issue occurs on one of the websites, but not the other. Additionally, for the site with this issue, it was happening on v7.8, and I had thought that updating to 8.1 would fix the issue, but it has not.
For some unknown reason, my site traffic dropped after upgrading from v7.8 to v8. Sessions dropped -34%, pageviews went down -46%, and the bounce rate went up by +5%.
https://www.screencast.com/t/1F2d4giJaiko
https://www.screencast.com/t/58YjsvA5vkJ8
After 10 painful days on v8, I rolled back to version 7.8 and traffic is back to normal. Since rolling back to version 7.8, I have lost all Text Block editing functionality (Paragraph, Formats, Text Color, etc.). I need to get this fixed so I can update content.
https://www.screencast.com/t/g7bvrccRWZ
I want to upgrade to version 8.1 and start using tagDiv Composer, but I as you can understand, I’m a little nervous.
Hi,
Unfortunately, it didn’t work.
I’ve tried to put the code in the Theme Panel > Custom Code > Custom CSS and also directly in the Style.css. Both unsuccessful.
That’s is a quite critical issue, please we need an urgent solution or at least a solid release date of the next update.
Thank you!
Hi,
Make a backup to your database just to be safe. Please update the theme by FTP like this
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/
Update the included plugins as well. Please note that much has changed from that version in the theme and Visual composer. In Newspaper 8 the tagDiv composer as introduced as well.
I believe it would be best to try and recreate the pages with the new tagDiv composer if possible after the update
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/tagdiv-composer-tutorial/
Custom codes or the same modifications may not work in the new theme. The child theme too, if there is one. Deactivate all plugins except theme plugins except theme plugins to rule out any conflicts.
Check the theme system status and make modifications to the parameters mentioned in this guide if necessary
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/
Thanks
Hello Berbi,
Yes, all the additional customizations which were added to your child theme will be there after theme update. Just in case, you should make a full backup to your database before them updating to be safe regarding your data.
Thanks for your understanding!
After I updated the theme from v8.0 to 8.1 I have some problems, in fact this is the third post i wrote in the last 2 days. This time the problem is the header. I go to Theme Panel -> Header and change the style, but it doesn’t work immediatly. I have to edit the home page with TD Composer to see the changes and I have to save to view the header changed. Why?
Thanks in advance!
Hi,
Our customer website was hacked. He didn’t update the website since some years and now after the attack, he is in a hurry to update. We try to make the web update from an old backup, but we have problems to go from version 4.5a to the current one. Some shortcodes like a blocks fail. Now we have wp 4.8.1 and last js_composer. If we install td_social counter plug it fails too.
Can you help us please… We can’t publish the website with this version, since it is vulnerable.
Thx a lot,
Hi Simion C.,
Thanks for getting back to me.
I downloaded the theme yesterday and updated from 8.0 to 8.1 update, also updated the plugins, the problem persists.
One of my sites, osmelhoresdoces.com
Thanks,
Hello dvlada,
This browser’s version seems to be old and that’s why it is possible to have some problems with the theme with this kind of browser, sorry! Please try to update it to the latest version of it and also, please try to replace it with the Chrome because this is the best browser at the moment and the theme it seems to work perfectly with it.
Thanks for your understanding!
Hi,
There was a problem with the mobile theme functionality in the theme update, please download the theme package again and install it. Check this topic for more information as well
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/mobile-tabs-not-loading/
If the problem remains please provide a link to your website if possible, so we can inspect it.
Thanks
Hello,
Please update your theme again. Download the theme again and install the version that is available now for download. (the theme version is still 8.1 but the package has been updated and the issue fixed)
Thank you!
Hello,
Thank you for your suggestion.
I will add this to our list for future updates and if this request becomes more popular we will consider implementing such grids into our themes.
Thank you!
Hello,
I am going to update from Newsmag 3.4 to Newsmag 4 by myself.
To proceed to the updates, I just have to upload patch_3.4_4.0 to the Newsmag root. All customized css and settings in Newsmag-Child will be preserved.
Is that correct ?
Thanks in advanced.
Hi,
In Newspaper 8 the new tagDiv composer was introduced as the main page builder
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/tagdiv-composer-tutorial/
It will be activated by default when the theme is installed or updated. In some cases there can be problems when both Visual composer and the tagDiv composer are active at the same time.
If you decide to use the tagDiv composer you will have to recreate all the pages with this new front-end editor
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/visual-composer-tagdiv-composer-transition/
You can keep using Visual composer after updating the theme and disable the tagDiv composer, then make the switch when you think the time is right.
The option to display pages in blocks is available for Visual composer as well
– https://www.screencast.com/t/4HR4wu8gxPj
Page Id’s can be entered in the filter in order to display specific pages if necessary
– https://www.screencast.com/t/PtWrlmq7
Here in the live demo you can see most of the features of the theme (latest theme version)
Check the Features menu.
Thanks
