Chrome has aggressive caching to speed mobile users and their own caching on the net.

This is normal for modern browsers, not a bug/flaw. And also common with latest versions of PHP with “opcache” turned on.

With Chrome, generally you *will* need to do force-refresh vs normal refresh to get updated content. If your browser caches the old version, it’s the culprit not loading the new files, even if your site is serving updated content.

Hello peterdlrs,

After each theme update, you should make a full backup to your database to be safe and then, install the theme via FTP way, according to our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/ Please notice that all of your data will be loaded into your databases. Also, you can export the theme settings from Theme panel to be safe, according to our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/import-export-newsmag/

Thanks for your understanding!

I don’t know why, but when I write a post and then I visit my website I can’t see the new post until I refresh the site. I need to force the refresh. But it is a problem because I know there is a new post, but people don’t. So when they visit me they see the same content.

It’s like the browser (firefox/chrome) doesn’t update correctly. How I can fix this problem?

Hi,

Please try to ignore the activation message, there is no need to activate the Visual composer that is provided in the theme package. You just have to enable the plugin and use it, no activation needed. Updates for the Visual composer editor will be provided along with the theme updates.

Thanks

Hello orlando,

Please keep in mind that is the available version which uses our plugin. Our developers will check the plugin functionality with the WordPress and if they will think the jquery version needs to be changed this will be done in our updates.

Thanks for your understanding!

Newsmag working fine for us with latest WP.
Usually you can try

a) resave permalinks
b) clear all/any caching
c) clear all transients with WP-Optimize plugin

make sure all plugins you are using, which are not included with latest theme version, are updated to work with WP 4.7x. Try disabling everything except visual composer.

Good luck!
( I don’t work here; just trolling for free gingerbread cookies … c’mon nobody has sent me any yet!! 😉 )

Hello,
I updated wordpress to version 4.7.5 and now I have compatibility issues. Nothing works. It’s not possible to add media into a post, for example. All the tabs in posts’ view are frozen (can’t open, for example “post settings” tab. Try to clic but nothing happens).

So I installed “twelve theme” from WordPress and everything has resumed to work normally.
There’s anything I can do to solve this problem?

Please help
Thank you

a) change passwords
b) reinstall WordPress (delete original files via FTP, do clean install; backup your wp-config.php file
c) delete and reinstall ALL plugins
d) delete and reinstall ALL themes
e) check root public folder for any errant php files; check htaccess file

* once site working, cleanly
** MAKE PERIODIC BACKUPS!
** Update WordPress when it tells you to for security patches
** disable editing of core files, disable XML-RPC, disable password reset option
** scan site once a month with free Securi site scanner
** MAKE BACKUPS!

Try reinstall Visual Composer: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-visual-composer-plugin/

If this does not work, you will have scratch to re-install WordPress and the Theme.

Hi,

The text font on the search button can be customized in the theme panel
https://www.screencast.com/t/DuYbGonZNW78
https://www.screencast.com/t/rX14QcvYx
If you wanted something else, I could maybe provide you with a Css code in this case.
Unfortunately at the moment I don’t think there is a plan to allow modifications to the header elements, through the editor. You can only customize the width, font, color etc. with the options in the theme panel.
Maybe additional header styles will be added in future updates, but I could not say when this will happen.
If you want to try, you can make your own customization using the browser inspector to identify the elements used and their classes, in order to create custom code that you can use in the theme panel. Here is a guide if you want to try it
https://forum.tagdiv.com/create-custom-code-using-the-browsers-inspector/

Thanks

Hi,

If you mean to activate a license, there is no need to do this. The Visual composer editor provided in the theme package is pre-activated. You just need to install and activate the plugin in the plugins section, then you can use all it’s features. More information related to this here
https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-visual-composer-plugin/

Thanks

Hi,

Maybe options will be added in future updates, but I could not say if this will happen. At the moment if you want to modify the user role capabilities you will have to use a plugin. That way you can probably create a custom role and personalize it according to your needs.

Thanks

Hi,

The theme is not yet compatible with PHP 7.1. It is only tested with version 7.0. Hopefully it will be compatible after the next theme update. You could try to contact the server support and see if they have any advice about this issue. This seems to be server related – https://www.screencast.com/t/AC9Fov64k4
I don’t think this slow loading speed is theme related, we had no bad reports in this regard.

Thanks

Hi,

I see that the Visual composer is loading on the page. However you can try to download the latest theme package and install the latest version of the editor and see if it works properly
https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-visual-composer-plugin/
Or if you decide to update the theme as well here is a guide to help you

Thanks

Update, I solved it like this

<?php $post_id = $this->post->ID;?>
<?php echo human_time_diff( get_the_time('U', $post_id), current_time('timestamp') ) . ' ago'; ?>

I’ve done what you posted but, does this mean that everytime i post something i have to set a ‘Primary category’ for the post?

After setting a primary category (and customizing a sidebar for my posts) it’s not appearing in my already posted posts, only in the post i set a ‘primary category’, even though my previous posts share the same category.

Sorry if i’m not getting this.

– Basically i have a category called ‘Noticias’, i want every post with that category to have a sidebar.
– I went to a post with that category and did what you showed on the pictures (went to primary category, selected ‘Noticias’ as primary).
– Selected the sidebar i customized previously.
– Updated
– Sidebar is showing *just* on that post
– Every other Post with the category ‘Noticias’ is not being affected
– Do i have to manually add ‘primary category’ to every previous post (there lots of posts already) and do i have to manuall enter ‘primary category’ for each new post for a sidebar to appear?

i hope i can get a speedy response please.

Thanks
