Hello guys,
I use this theme for more than a year and after last update, my site slow down so much that usually browser don’t want to wait for it to load anymore. I tried deactivating all plugins, then activating one by one. Ask my hosting provider and anything what I can. So you are my last option. I payed 32 bucks for another six months of support.
my site is kastela.com
(please consider that I didn’t turn on caching plugin and seo plugin) because it seams that site works “better” without them. They are not the solution to problem
If you need any data just tell me where to send them 😉
Thanks
Before Update

After Update

Hi Guys, I’ve updated from theme to 7.7 and vc 5.0.1 and the layout of my pages is now broken, and not looking like it did with the older version of vc running.
Before

After

Big Block 1 is running in a full width row but since the update is broken, the page/column paddings are also all over the place.
Is there a specific way to update VC?
Thanks
Matt
Update: problem solved; for security reasons my dedicated server has a rule blocking access to files that have “wp-admin” on the directory way; it seems the newspaper have something on that way; then admin removed this rule or changed this file, i don’t known haha.
Anyway, thanks
Hi, I am using the mobile theme and it works great! I appreciate how you added a special block on the page admin to insert specific elements for the mobile pages. I am just curious about the functions.php file; I had to add a function to it so that my shortcode would work in posts displayed in the mobile theme, so I created newspaper-child/mobile/functions.php and added the code there, but it turns out I had to do it in newspaper/mobile/functions.php, which is fine except that your next update is going to wipe out my change. Is there a way to do this in the child theme so that my mods are retained following a theme update? Thanks for any guidance you can provide.
Hi, I understand that I am very late in this particular issue, but I still use the previous version of VC builder Version 4.12.1. I didn’t update the VC plugin since the information was announced many month ago due to our website is still new and we were moving our hosting server back then, and frankly very busy with focusing on updating content.
Anyway, now I got issues with the old plugin since I think it didn’t work anymore as is should. I just checked in again on tagDIV forum, but when I visited the “Our new page builder is available on GitHub” topic, the post isn’t available, both for the instruction and the TAG home made plugin.
My related questions are:
1. Please advise on this matter.
2. What is the current plugin for page builder should I use? My plugin page give me notification for the new Virtual Composer update which is version: 5.0.1. but it should be downloade separately and install it back again. Or should I use tagDIV home made plugin? Where can I download the latest plugin.
3. In any plugin that I will use later on, do I have to remake my front page from the beginning or will it automaticly keep the current design that I use right now?
4. Please kindly to provide step by step on how to update the plugin since remaking my frontpage will take sometime?
I appreciate if there is more that I should know on this matter and thank you for your kind attention.
Being a News & Media website, we often have to cover sensitive topics which are against Google Adsense policies. Despite being the No. 1 News theme in the market Newspaper lacks the functionality to block ads on specific posts. Please consider the case in your future updates.
Is there any other way around to do so(code or anything else)?
Thanks.
I was under the impression that only the Facebook ID was required to get the Facebook functionality to work. I watched the tutorials and that was the impression I was left with. The Pages are all Public and have been up for years and can be seen when the appropriate link is clicked-even when logged out of Facebook-demonstrating that they are public.
I have completely blown out the site a few times and each time the same result for anything related to Facebook. All other social platforms work perfectly.
I loaded a default demo fro NewsPaper, installed only the Two Plugins on the Theme Panel-Visual Composer and Social Counter- and still no joy.
Has there been an update to Facebook that broke the Social Counter plugin?
Hi Simion, thank you for the update. I have cleared cache and that seems to have resolved the issue.
Regarding the css solution you have suggested https://www.screencast.com/t/IuWRbfIuHBDG I wanted something that would make this consistent with the colors for category tags on pages. So on modules, the tag would be the same color as for the category page.
This means that the tags on the module would be directly related to each category color, instead of all having the same color.
Is there a solution to achieve this?
Thanks
Hi,
It seems that due to some customization or by some other action, the html structure of the theme is broken. I would suggest to disable all the plugins except Visual composer, clear the cache and check to see if the problem is still there. If that does not fix this, please try to make a fresh install using the latest version of the theme and the required plugins. Here is a tutorial to guide you through the update process – https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/
Thanks
Hello dinkymonkey,
I have inspected your website and I saw that you are not using the latest version of the theme, you ar using the child theme and also, the required plugins are not updated, sorry! First of all, you should update your theme to the latest version of it which is 7.7, update the Visual Composer to 5.0.1, move the theme to the main theme, revert it to the default state, clear all your additional customizations, clear all your caches and check the results. For more information about theme update, please consult here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/ and the guide for Visual Composer update, check here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-visual-composer-plugin/
Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!
Thanks for your understanding!
Any update about WPML?
I see yesterday that there is a post on WPML forum about Newspaper.
Thanks.
Hi… so I bought the TagDiv Newspaper Theme some months ago… Today I noticed a very strange text on my homepage. And when I click in WordPress dashboard and go to “Pages”, the homepage page is gone. There are no pages listed under “Pages”.

I don’t know what happened. Is this some kind of code error, do I need to update my theme, or did somebody hacked my page? I haven’t published the page or given anybody access… so this is weird.
I googled and noticed that some other websites are affected by this, too.
Can somebody help me out?
Yes thanks,
of course is possible to build it through a static page, but as it is possible to automatize a grid in the category page i thought it was possible to make the same in the home page used as lastest post.
This should be a nice improvement for the next update
thanks anyway
Regards
Alice
Hi,
We are facing a problem where after upgrading the theme package from 7.4 to 7.7, a lot many things on our website breaks.
We have upgraded the version from 7.4 to 7.7 by simply downloading and copying the theme package. In the process we have renamed the old theme folder and created the new theme folder with same name. We haven’t done any change in the database. After the upgrade we are facing following problems.
1. The various style settings which we had through your admin panel inside the WordPress admin are not getting applied.
2. When we use version 7.7 as the theme then for some reasons images are not appearing. Again there is no change in the admin or database settings and in the inspect element inside browser I can see that all URLs are correct.
Could you please let us know if there is a problem with version 7.7 of your theme?
Please let us know what additional information you would need from us to look in to this.
Thank you.
John.
Hi,
I would suggest updating your Visual composer editor to the latest version – https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-visual-composer-plugin/ and check if that fixes the problem. You should also try this after deactivating all the plugins except Visual composer because a plugin could be causing the issue, then clear the cache and purge cdn files.
Thanks
Hi,
I suggest to disable all the plugins except Visual composer, clear the cache and purge cdn files if you use it. Also try to deactivate your child theme to rule that out, and check any custom code you may have added to the theme files. If the problem is no longer there activate the child theme to see if that is causing this. If not, activate the plugins one at a time and check to see the effects. Here is an tutorial if you decide to update the theme to the latest version – https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/
Thanks
especially that this does not work because @tagDiv is using jQuery(‘article’) to initialize modal image.
so, what @andrei_luca suggested wasn’t really nice. you would pay min 100 euro to get that small thing fixed.
all you need to do is to update tagdiv_theme.js and tagdiv_theme.min.js
so:
jQuery('article') // non min
jQuery("article") // min
will be:
jQuery("article, body.page div.td-container")
Hello Warwick Jones,
Do you update the latest theme version? If you have not do it you should do it now because in the latest version of the theme, was introduced the option to disable logging section. Please notice that since now, if you will have a log-in on your website and if you do not have the https you will see the no-secure message. You should have the https. For more references about this regard, you should read the following information posted by Google, like this -> http://www.pcworld.com/article/3118164/security/google-chrome-to-start-marking-http-connections-as-insecure.html So, if you do not have the https you should simply disable the login and the nonsecure message will disappear.
Thanks for your understanding!
Hello,
In order to translate the text you must access this file and change the text manually: https://www.screencast.com/t/xbVRmxdofC
I will add this on our list for future updates for this part to be translated from the translation settings
Thank you!
Hi,
It seems that you or a plugin is inserting the code in the post excerpt field – https://www.screencast.com/t/pIh5hHMaS The excerpt field should contain a summary of the post content, not for video links, they will be displayed as they are and not interpreted. This could be caused by a plugin since not all plugins are compatible with the theme, so please try to disable all your plugins except Visual composer and check if the problem is still there. Also update your Visual composer plugin to the latest version – https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-visual-composer-plugin/
Thanks
Hello ImaImpact,
I have inspected your website and I saw that you are not using the latest version of the theme. Update it to the latest version of it via FTP way according to our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/ and also, for more information about our mobile theme plugin, check the guide here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-mobile-theme/ Clear all your caches, purge CDN files and check the results.
Thanks for the message!
Hello itmehedi,
Please notice that if you will update the theme, your theme settings will not be changed. We recommend doing your theme update via FTP way because this is the surest method in this regard. For more information about this, please consult our guide here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/
Thanks for the message!
Hello potatohead101,
Unfortunately, at the moment, we no plan to do this, sorry! In a future update, it is possible but we cannot say for sure if it will get done in the next update because we have a big list of fixes, improvements, and suggestions to implement. It’s hard to filter them and select which one gets implemented now and which one gets postponed. The developers decide if it gets done or not, though.
Thanks for your understanding!
Hello cobaltica,
Please keep in mind that you do not use the right version of Visual Composer and that’s why you bring some errors in your console, sorry! You should use the version which comes bundled with the theme packet and wich is Visual Composer 5.0.1. Try to update your plugin via FTP way, remove the old version, clear all your caches, purge all CDN files if you are using the CEDN system and check the results. For more information about how you can update your Visual Composer, please consult our guide here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-how-to-update-visual-composer-plugin/
