Hello,
updating to version 12.6.4 does not change the version number. After the update there is still 12.6.3 displayed and that there is an update to 12.6.4. Stuck in update look.
Greetings
Hello @gorthi!
All the terms you mentioned will be updated in the next update of the theme.
Can you please provide an example where the other terms from the theme panel are not translated?
Thank you!
All of the pages, related to Eastcoast Check PRO Plugin (both listings and individual restaurant pages produce a 404 error after the recent Yoast 22.0 update. Disabling and re-enabling Yoast fixes the problem. Just putting the info out there, if anyone else has this issue.
Hi
So there is a problem after all. That is kind of satisfying as I thought I was going crazy.
OK hopefully the last request – how do I access the classic editor (I dont use Gutenburg or Elementor – its WordPress.org/TagDiv/Newspaper/Yoast ) as in my PAGES there is no option that I can see to do this? It is so different from POSTS which is so easy! I can see classic editor when in the Yoast Front End Inspector as it slowly freezes but I am guessing you are trying to direct me somewhere else?
Can you help because as you may recall I did not create my site and the guy who did has gone AWOL so I am a little lost just now trying to complete what is an extremely basic simple task to update my Page title and meta description of my home page.
Many thanks
Rupert
Hi,
I recommend using the classic editor and not Gutenberg for this until we make a new update to the theme because there is an issue with the Yoast plugin. The update will be soon.
Thank you!
Hello!
I’ve added it to our investigation list. Our developers will investigate the case, and they will provide a fix in the theme update.
All the fixes will appear in the changelog: https://tagdiv.com/newspaper/
Thank you!
Hi
Thanks for your reply. I have managed to make some progress but have now run into another issue. I managed to find the Yoast SEO inspector and hoped that by EDITING I could update the home page and other pages.
I ran into an issue with the page freezing and searching online I went through a process of clearing three sections within Tools/Yoast Test :
1. Reset Prominent Words calculation
2. Reset Seo roles and capabilities.
3. Reset Internal Link Test
I then re ran the seo optimisation but am experiencing the same issues of a frozen page.
Can anyone help so I can edit my PAGE TITLES AND META DESCRIPTIONS on my home page and other pages. Posts are not an issue.
If I uninstall YOAST will I lose work ??
Hope to hear from you soon
Rupert
Hello.
I have created special pages using Cloud Library for my main categories and for the homepage.
I want all of them to have the same sidebar. I tried adding a sidebar, but it only uses widgets.
How can I create a sidebar template (not only widgets) and use it on every special page I create? I mean – without having to update each page when I want to change something on the sidebar.
thanks, Ana, then for future update my feedback is to find another way of infinite loading. Other themes on Envato have infinite load and the ads are working there, even on mobile sites some themes have infinite load with ads.
If users are not able to display ads within your theme, then why will one go with Newspaper theme?
Something needs to be done in the near future update, my strong feedback as we have been using Newspaper for 8 years now.
Again thanks.
Hello @robbyyy!
We’ve tested the latest version of the theme, and there shouldn’t be any issues. Please deactivate all the extra plugins before updating, as well as the cache plugins that you use.
Unfortunately, no. You should have the latest update of the theme and plugins too.
Thank you!
Hi SR20DETg20girl, if you updated from v9 than it will be need to install/enabled an extra plugin that doesn’t exist on your current version, this plugin is tagDiv Standard Pack to bring the old layout back.
Also, it depends on the WordPress version you have, extra plugins, host settings and many other parameters, but the problem can be identify and we can help you to resolve it, if you agree, then make sure that you have a complete backup for the website and database, only after that update the theme manually using FTP/cPanel and replace the old theme version with the new one, after that update the theme plugins from Newspaper > plugins and also install the tagDiv Standard Pack plugin.
Another important thing is to have set the theme requirements – https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
Also, if you made the update and the problems persists, pleas contact us via email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide wp-admin and cPanel access.
Thank you!
Hi,
No such problems related to icons were mentioned in this update.
Thank you!
Yes, it goes back to normal. The problem started once I update from 12.5.1 to 12.6, or above. I have tried every time a new update gets released, but same thing happens. As i use Optin Builder, I really need the latest versions of Newspaper to work.
I’ve tried just about everything, deactivating plugins, cache, etc, but cannot see what the error is.
The site has been up and down all day here (i’m in Australia).
Hello @robbyyy!
It shouldn’t be like that. If you revert the update, will the page speed improve or not?
Please make a test and let me know the differences.
Thank you!
Hi,
Please update the PHP version to 8.0 and check after.
Thank you!
Hi – I’ve just updated to the latest version of Newspaper, but have noticed a considerable slowing of the site. Woocommerce product pages seem to be the worst impacted, taking some 30 seconds to load. They used to load in 3-4 seconds.
Example page:
https://www.platformexecutive.com/product/e-trade-financial-company-profile-and-swot-analysis/
Could you let me know what could be causing the sudden slowdown. I had no problems with the theme before the update.
Hello Praga,
I will ask you in the future when you have questions related to the Newspaper to post them on the Newspaper forum – https://forum.tagdiv.com/forum/newspaper/
The tagDiv Analyzer tool will be removed from the theme in the coming theme updates. If you want to improve the performances use a good cache plugin, cloudflare and try the optimization options from Newspaper – https://i.imgur.com/CemImju.png – https://i.imgur.com/FHQ8t4k.png also if you are using cache for mobile version then you can disable the desktop header on mobile and the mobile header on desktop – https://i.imgur.com/lkielK2.png – https://i.imgur.com/ACr3iKD.png
Thank you!
Hello, Anamaria.
How are you?
In this print I sent, I did exactly this test. I created a blank page, inserted the slider and told it to save…
But it gave the same error… it saves the header/footer, but keeps saving the content infinitely.
I’ve already updated the theme, WordPress and all plugins… and the problem persists.
Heeeeeelp me, pls! 🙂
Thank you very much.

Hi,
The latest version is 12.6.3, so please update the theme and check after if the problem persists.
Thank you!
Hi,
I checked, and it seems you have a very old version of the theme; please try to restore a backup and, after, try to update the theme. What I can suggest is to update the theme to the latest version, 12.6.3; you can do a staging for testing the update, and if the problem persists, please make a full backup of all files and the database in case something goes wrong => https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/ Also, if possible, disable extra plugins during the theme update to avoid any problems that may arise and make sure that you have activated the tagDiv Standard pack plugin to keep the website’s look. You can try to update the theme on a staging website.
After you update the theme, you need to update the theme plugins too.
In the worst cases, the settings in the theme panel may be lost (there have been isolated cases), in these cases, after the theme plugins that were previously used are activated, you will have to use a backup for the theme panel -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/import-export-theme-settings/
Thank you!
Hello @gorthi !
Unfortunately, no.
If you have some custom modifications in the theme files, then better save the code and replace it after every update.
Thank you!

We noticed that for some strange reason, due to the theme update, some of the banner ads we had inserted had disappeared. With version 8 everything worked, with version 12 they are no longer visible.
