It is not enough to update only the theme. You should update all your required plugins which come bundled with the theme packet. Remove the old version of Visual Composer and Social Counter and install the version for these plugins which come bundled with the latest version of theme, clear all your caches and check the results.

Well it is a code customization so you will have to delete that part of the code again. of course the problem is back because there is no update proof way of altering the theme files. Please follow the above instructions again

This could be a plugin conflict so please disable all plugins except visual composer, clear cache and reset cdn files if you use it. Please also check any custom code you might have added to the theme panel or the theme files. If you use a child theme, please switch to the main theme to make sure it does not affect the proper functionality of the theme.
Try the new update without plugins or child theme and let us know if you still have trouble

If the file you edit will be changed, you will have to re-make the customization. There is no update proof way of modifying the theme files.

Unfortunately the child theme is not update proof. Depending on the file you edited in the child theme, you will probably have to replace and re-add your customization to the file in the child theme.

The envato toolkit plugin can sometimes be faulty. If it gets hung up and more than a few minutes pass and the update is not completed, you should relload the page and hit the update button again. Do not leave it for 50 minutes 🙂 The best way to update is always FTP.
@ Tuan Vu The update patch is for updating via ftp and only replacing the changed files between versions.
you can simply copy and paste the files from the patch over your theme files to update to the new version

If you want to fix 500 errors, you should search for a few online solutions such as -> https://wordpress.org/support/topic/error-500503-when-trying-to-open-sitemap/
Please make sure you use the latest theme version and that you update the plugins as well. The plugins do not update automatically along with the theme so you have to disable and delete theme and install them again from the main theme package under the plugins folder (I’m referring to the theme plugins)

As an update, if I deactivate visual composer, I get more content loading but its still screwy. If I deactivate everything else, activate VC and clear cache, I get that same error noted above.

a) GO TO your ThemeForest account … explore the website, note the link to “your account” and drop down to “downloads” once you login; there will be subscribe to updates link on that page
b) download the all files zip to your PC/Mac; unzip, note the folders, docs, changelog, etc. — always good to look at this stuff 🙂

I updated my Newspaper 7 and now my settings are not as before. In Cyberduck I can’t find Includes, Wp_booster etc (https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/category-template-style-6-background/)
I was resolved my trouble with your help in september, but with the update I can’t do the modification by myself because I dont found anymore the files. Do you know how can I found the files that I lost?
Edit : I used search with name as I do in september but Cyberduck don’t found it.

I would like to update from Newspaper 4.6.2 direct to current Newspaper 7.
Changing files by FTP was OK.
Then started the update script in Welcome Panel.
Script started – thats it. Will there be success message?
It’s included in the new theme updated announced today.
If you’re not getting notice from ThemeForest, be sure to check the subscribe box on your TF downloads page to get the theme updates.
Look in the /plugins/ folder with the all files download zip of the theme 🙂
When will the latest visual composer update be available for newspaper theme? I’m having trouble with Yoast…and I think it might be because visual composer is not current.

I’m experiencing a conflict between these two plugins when activated on mu WP site.
First problem I find is when I want to add/edit a post. With both plugins activated the Post page does not load properly and I’m unable to edit without deactivating Rev Slider. It appears that VC just doesn’t load properly in post page when you want to edit/create. When I deactivate Rev Slider, VC loads fine and operates as it should.
Second problem is when I’m creating/editing a slide in Rev Slider, the plugin editor loads but I’m unable to then do anything (ie – I click on a button, say type of slider and nothing happens – this happens with everything). If I deactivate Visual Composer, Rev Slider works as it should.
Both Rev Slider and VC are updated to latest versions. I’m running WP 4.7. I was experiencing this problem in Newspaper v7.5 and thought updating to v7.6 this morning would solve the problem but it hasn’t and both problems are still occurring.
At a loss to work out why this is happening and would really appreciate your support. Thanks

Hi, I tried to update from 7.4 to 7.6 but when I do my block 6 becomes 1 column instead of 2 and also the next block after that which is 15 goes to 2 columns instead of 3 columns news. (website: masnoticia.com )

I got the notice about the new version, and investigating how to update (my site is still developing) I discovered the Envato Market plugin for automatic updating and downloaded, installed and activated it.
Once active I generated a token, according to the instructions of the plugin, I entered it and I indicated to update it.
It has been “updating” for about 50 minutes and I’m getting nervous, but it has no Cancellation option.
That’s why I came to the forum looking for information about it and / or where to put this query: HOW MUCH CAN THE LATEST UPDATE VIA PLUGIN “ENVATO MARKET”? I have W10 64.
