Hi
I’ve checked your site and found a js error in browser console: http://screencast.com/t/mKJlLjnNO3SD Please make sure that you update the theme according with our documentation: https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-how-to-update-the-theme/ also try to deactivate all plugin except Visual; Composer, clear all caches then test the site again.
Let us know how it goes.
Thanks!
Hello,
The issue could have been as follows:
The child theme is NOT UPDATE PROOF. People tend to have this misconception a lot (not pointing fingers)
If you set up a child theme and add a few files to it then modify those files..ok…everything works. But what happens when the theme gets updated? If one of the files you modified have been changed in the next update and the new code is a critical one for the theme functionality and other code is changed based on that code (as in most cases is). you will be serving the old code from your child theme when the main theme will expect the new code. You will have to constantly keep an eye out for the list of modified files for each new update and if you see one of the files on the list is the one you have modified in your child theme, then you need to remove that particular file from the child theme, replace it with the new file and then re-apply the modification to the new code and see if it works.
This is the proper way to use a child theme. Not saying you do (again…not pointing fingers :).) but this needs to be standard knowledge when using child themes.
I hope this helps.
Have a great day!
Bogdan B
Any update…
Thank you very much. I have done what you told me and it’s right. I have modified two files: td_social_icons.php and style.css.
Now I need to know where I have to create the new icon. How can I do it?
Another thing. In the next updates, how can I maintain the modified files?. I have installed and activated Newspaper-child. Can this solve it?
Best
Hello,
There seems to be an issue with wp super cache and the latest version of WP. Please follow this topic for a quick fix until they update the plugin: https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/mobile-theme-does-not-work-properly/
Thank you!
Hello,
This could mean you have an outdated child theme servin old version of the files creating a conflict. Please update your child theme. Create a new child theme and do not change any names to it. Simply copy over the folder from the main archive: http://screencast.com/t/ktdo9Fbk6d
Then only use the current theme files if you want to add files to your child theme. Do not use other files from previous theme versions as chances are they have been modified in the new version.
let us know how it goes.
Always create a back-up of your data beforehand
Thank you!
Hello,
As the topic title suggests: http://screencast.com/t/sGIJR1eH
Please update your social counter plugin. You do this by accessing the plugins section of wordpress and hit the disable button and then delete files like so: http://screencast.com/t/GboZPFtNbaH and then installing the new version from here: http://screencast.com/t/4SMfmJnUd
I hope this helps.
Thank you!
Hello,
Thank you for your appreciation. Customer feedback is very important to us. You can also rate us if you want from this link đ https://themeforest.net/item/newspaper/reviews/5489609
To the matter at hand, we do plan on implementing further options into the mobile theme. For the moment it;s only version 1.0 and we launched it to see if it grows in popularity and if users like it so we can asses if we will spend time and effort into improving it and adding more options to it. The mobile theme is a success and we will add updates to it and implement more options in future updates. But for the moment the there is only 1 smart list style and 1 post template and one homepage template. It’s limited, I know, but we plan on updating and providing more options in the future.
Thank you for your understanding.
Hello,
Maybe you have a plugin that is not compatible with newspaper 7.3 The latest update changed quite o bit in the implementation of visual composer so please try to disable all plugins except visual composer, clear cache and reset cdn files if you use it.
Let us know if the issue is still there afterwards. If it is, contact us via email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide wp-admin so we can login and investigate.
Thank you!
Hello rodrigocarlos,
Unfortunately, I cannot access your above link. Please send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com with your log-in information (wp-admin) so we can further inspect it. Before this, please ensure that your theme is updated to the latest version of it (Newspaper 7.3).
Thanks for the message!
Hello nairolf2013,
Until now we do not have any bad reports in this regard and this behaviour should not exist after this update because in the 7.3 version no major changes were made which may influence your traffic. Please send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com with your log-in information (wp-admin) and full FTP access so we can take a look over your setup page and your log so we can provide a more accurate response. Also, please provide the link of this topic so we can easily identify you.
Thanks for your understanding!
Hello , I get this error when installing the theme. As I can solve it?
Update: I’m getting the following error:
tagDiv importer detected an error. The importer will try to recover and continue to install the demo after you click ok on this dialog.
Steps to troubleshoot:
– Check the permissions on your upload folder (file permissions appear to be ok)
– Please make sure that WP_DEBUG is set to false in wp-config.php (it is)
– Contact our support via email contact@tagdiv.com (please provide your product license key)
Hi Catalin,
I managed to update the path in the CSS that was causing that error. Now, however I’m still left with a broken padlock. Something inside the theme is breaking the padlock as illustrated by the section “Secure Calls made to other websites”:
demo.tagdiv.com returns some sort of error) when visitors go to my webpage. My SSL is installed correctly and HTTPS is configured so I know it has nothing to do with either of those two. Do you know why I would see the padlock on the admin dashboard (i.e. logged in) but not when i’m browsing as a visitor (not logged in)?
I would really like to resolve this. I have a store on the site and consumer confidence is important to me.

1. I have updated the social counter plug in but it shows my Facebook fans as 0 even though I have several fans on my Facebook. URL is correct and checked. http://www.financialthing.com
2. Using the Mobile theme plug in, I tested on my phone and when I click on navigation bar on right side, it says “Click here to use the wp menu builder”. There’s no way to navigate the mobile site? When I click on that message I get a 404 Not Found page
Hello
I updated the plugins with no result.
Still the same problem.
Best regards
Nick
Hi
Please make sure that you follow our documentation for update process: https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-how-to-update-the-theme/ You need to unzip the archive downloaded from themeforest and upload in your wordpress Newsmag.zip file.
Thanks!
I mean that an Author wont be able to change this part of code, since it will be on PHP files, and not on a widget, neither inside visual composer, which can be changed with ease of access. The method that you describe is good for an administrator that wants to place the code there and forget it, but its not good for code which needs to be managed and updated regularly by a member with Author access.
I already edited the post and provided steps for people that want to do the same, so they will be able to manage this part of the website easily.
I didnt want to have content added below posts loop, i wanted to be able to add and organize EVERY content of homepage through visual composer, like on every other theme, but anyway, i used this as an alternative.
I did the changes on my own and edited my previous post (obviously you read the first revision of it) in order to make it easier for another purchaser, in case he wants to apply the same customization. As an appreciation of your work and your theme, I shared this publically.
Its a pity that your theme (which provides a really wide variety of functions) is having such a restriction, but anyway, thanks for your overall support.

Hello bvanrij,
Please ensure that you are using the latest version of the theme (Newspaper 7.3) and also, the latest version of required plugins (Visual Composer 4.12 and Social Counter 4.1). This update should be made only via FTP because this is the surest method in this regard. If you are using some untested plugins, please try to delete all of them and install only the plugins that come bundled with our theme and rule out the conflicting plugins. So, if your problem is still there after this advice, you should try to make a new clean install from scratch and then check the results.
Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!
Thanks.
In the versions I have been running with, I just added an extra line and a check – you could probably achieve this more “cleanly”, but here’s my modification (I added in $GCN to store the number of comments, then I tested for it being greater than 0 – fairly straightforward I thought):
**UNFORTUNATELY – This editor stripped some code from the sample. I can’t post the code here đ
This would need to be replaced in the following files (from memory – I haven’t looked since June):
~/includes/modules/td_module_slide.php
~/includes/wp_booster/td_module.php
~/includes/wp_booster/td_module_single_base.php
Of course, if you have not set up a child theme, you will lose these changes upon next update.
NOTE: The sample code above is provided as is and there is warranty on its performance or effectiveness. Use this code at your own risk. If you are not sure what you are doing, don’t do it. The code may reference a version of the theme that is different to yours. Always compare the code with your existing code before replacing anything.

I was worried about something exactly like this. Thanks for the info. Will not update until the next update comes out.
Hello all,
After several investigations in this regard have concluded that this type of issue come from WP Super cache which is not fully compatible with WordPress 4.6 and thatâs why this problem occur. We hope that WP Super cache plugin will be updated it as soon as possible and that problem will be fixed. Notice that this issue appears and on Mobile Theme from Jetpack when the caching plugin is active.
Please notice that we have reported this issue to Jetpack and we are waiting for an update from them. Until that, you should use our workaround posted here -> https://github.com/Automattic/wp-super-cache/issues/132
Thanks for your understanding!
Hello suthemeforest,
Indeed, the caption of images is not appearing using the Carousel from Visual Composer. I have added to our list of fixes, the developers will make several investigations in this regard and we will try to fix that in next future updates.
Thanks for your understanding!
Hello dritanleka,
Please ensure that you are using the latest version of Visual Composer 4.12 in order to achieve best results in theme. Also, the update of these should be made only via FTP because this is the surest method in this regard. If you have a caching plugin, please try to clear all of your caches and test it again.
Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!
Thanks for your message!
Hello,
Yes I meant a single semicolon. Sorry. if a css code that you add in the custom css area dos not apply, then you need to check the code above for any open tags. Please make sure every tag in the code above the one you want to insert is closed properly. Also test without the child theme. Activate the main theme as if the child theme was not updated properly it could create issues. When we create css code we use the browser inspector and a chrome extension called live css editor. When you create a css and add it to the live css editor and it works, it should also work from the theme panel->custom css box: http://screencast.com/t/XutAAsbZ6H8
I hope this helps.
Thanks.
