Hello, I am re-doing the latest theme from 1.7 on 3.(I forgot but latest). But I have noticed a few things changed. I am working with the Child Theme so if I update, I won’t loose anything.

First Question:

From previous install, there was a header.php section in the Child Theme, now there isn’t (only 2-3 files). I needed to add some code in the header. How would I go about doing this?

Second:
I successful removed the Comment button that displayed on the homepage with the following code:
.page .td_module_wrap .meta-info {
display: none;
}

However, it still displays the comment button, date and author on tag and category pages. I wanted to have this removed site-wide. How would I go about this?

Hello kreativewire,

Please ensure that you do not need to any additional license for our product. All of the plugins which come bundled with our theme, include the own license and you must not buy anything. So, first of all, please ensure that you are using the latest version of the theme with the latest version of required plugins in order to achieve best results. Very important in this case is that you theme installing should have to be done using the FTP method because this is the surest method in this regard. For more information, please chek here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-visual-composer-plugin/ -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-use-visual-composer/ -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/

Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!

Thanks for your understanding!

I have seen many users asking for this useful implementation.

tagDiv, when are you going to implement this into default settings?

@mabrell
, you can alter the loop-single.php and add after line 40 this:
<div class="td-module-meta-info"> Last Update: <?php the_modified_date('j F, Y'); ?></div>

It appears under social icons and above the main image. I think is the best solution because if you try to put into the same row with the (publish date, visits counter & comments) on mobile looks pretty bad in two rows. (don’t forget, this modification you will have to do every time you update the theme)

Regards.

Hi, I would like to show the post last Updated date?

How to enable this?

It is currently only showing post created date. I want to show the post last Updated date too.

Thanks.

Best Regards.

The example they linked to worked for me:

ref
http://screencast.com/t/RZLIOPUNdqh

but as also clearly stated in the linked thread, it may not work if certain plugins conflict and break the plugin entirely and what it tries to do — no way to make compatible with 1,000+ WP plugins out there.

So,

option
a) comment our or remove the section as previously indicated;
b) if does not work; then don’t use plugin
c) if you don’t use plugin, use my alternate suggestion

———
also as a tip from many users on themeforest and various theme support forums, avoid using the envato theme updater as more likely to break your site by doing partial or incomplete update of your theme. Best to always use FTP so you know 100% it is done properly every time for both theme and updated theme plugins.

Please explain how to do this:

You can trick it though at your own risk by removing the compatibility function from within it’s code:
https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/tinymce-advanced-and-other-various-disabling-speed-boster/

Either explain how to comment it out or how delete it all together. Precisely – including semi colons, etc.

You Booster isn’t even compatible with the Envato Theme updater – so clearly, everyone is going to need to know how to do this.

Hi,

RE: Can there be an option in a future theme update to allow HTML in the bios? This way we don’t have to re-edit page-author-box.php in the future.

Was this done?

Wow. Lot of babies on here today.

Been using the theme on high traffic sites for 3 years now.

Stupid user error most common issue, and “RTFM.”

Learning how to use WordPress always good first step; reading the instructions a good second step; can’t figure out how to update the plugin?? It’s in the plugin folder when you download the ‘all theme files’ from ThemeForest – then you delete old plugin folder, upload new one — drama over; learning to use the tab top right of the WordPress post screen to toggle and untoggle sections of your post layout is a good thing to learn — this allows you to hide or unhide various boxes used on the post editing page (only you can do this, the theme cannot manage your site for you).

I don’t work here; but TagDiv has gone above and beyond in providing support for folks who seriously need to spend time on the WordPress Codex learning how WP actually works, what themes and plugins do, how things conflict with one another, how to better utilize the provided tools and have a better sense of “exploration” vs asking in tickets “do I press the save” button to save? Um, yeah, what else is the save button for? kind of questions. They have extreme patience for rude, obnoxious and sometimes bizarre requests for help that have nothing whatsoever to do with the theme.

Sorry you’re having a problem. Welcome to WebDev. It’s a journey, not a vacation.

Seriously, this has to be one of the worst themes, I’ve ever had to use.

Here are my issues I’m now experiencing after having you guys work on it.

1. I can no longer see ‘Video’ section for a post format, so I can no longer show videos on my website cause the format is stuck on standard cause there is no more option to add video now. THANK YOU!

2. You guys are horrible at understanding emails, I’ve told you I do not see anywhere to update the social counter, even then you send me a tutorial where I can look, okay, I’ve already viewed that cannot see it!

3. I had a white gap on my sidebar, it’s against TOS adsense to have it on a floating box, what do you guys do instead of fix your coding issue? enable the sticky sidebar, thanks, lets get me banned from adsense why dontcha.

Seriously, I regret paying you guys the $60, should of went with Flex Magazine, nice to know I wasted money here.

I can no longer post any damn video to my website right now cause you guys started disabling all my plugins and who knows what, thanks for making me not be able to upload any content to my website *video wise*.

THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi! I use WP Super Caché and everything is fine in Desktop but when I write a new post, it doesn’t appear in the home page when I use a phone, althoug I clean caché, clean cookies in the mobile browser, etc… I have to wait one hour or more until it shows the new article.

Anybody knows what could be happening?

My visual composer says:

In order to receive all benefits of Visual Composer you need to activate your copy of plugin. By activating Visual Composer license you will unlock premium options – direct plugin updates and access to official support.

if I click activate it says no license. I have a theme I purchased from someone else for another website and that visual composer is activated and I can see the + and blocks, etc.

Tnx a lot…now all is ok

I write solution for other people:

1) Delete theme folder (newsmag)
2) Upload last theme folder version
3) Delete plugin’s folders (only plugins inside theme)
4) Upload plugin’s folders new version (only plugins inside theme)
5) Deactivate all plugins except “Visual Composer”
6) Delete Cache
7) Reactivate every plugin (onebyone) to discover wich one creates problem (in my case was Eventon)
8) Activate all plugin except wich one creates problem.
9) Control if there is an update for this plugin and in case update it and activate it

Hi,
If you use a child theme please switch to the main theme and see if the problem goes away. That should be a first check as custom code is in most cases the cause of the issues. A child theme is not update proof and people tend to miss this aspect. If you updated your theme and have files in your child theme that were modified in the main theme updated files, then it can cause issues with the theme. Let us know if it was the child theme and if not, please contact us via email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide wp-admin so we can login and investigate.
Thank you!

Hello, I love the theme and know that it will greatly help our site.
I have a couple of questions however.

One.
I am trying to change the block quote but it won’t let me through custom css. I got it to change a little bit but for some reason I can’t seem to get it to do anything else such as position and location. Here is the code I am using:

blockquote {
font-family: Times;
font-size: 16px;
font-style: normal;
width: 100%;
line-height: .5;
position: left;
color: #000000;
border-left:1px dashed #c1c1c1;
border-right:1px dashed #c1c1c1;
border-top:1px dashed #c1c1c1;
border-bottom:1px dashed #c1c1c1;
background:#e8e8e8;
margin-top: 3px;
margin-left: 3px;
margin-right: 3px;
margin-bottom: 3px;

}

blockquote cite {
color: #000000;
font-size: 16px;
display: block;
margin-top: 5px;
}

blockquote cite:before {
content: “\2014 \2009”;
}

Two.
We use both Paid Memberships Pro and Theme Your profile.
How can I load shortcodes using the mobile theme?
The login page doesn’t load anything, nor does the sign up or check out page, profile, page, none of it.
I need those pages to work because we have viewers that purchase memberships to our site.

Thank you for your help!
The theme so far is amazing and each update you guys do brings more awesomeness!

Hello taddeo,

The author will need a bit of a CSS fix as the CSS got changed a bit in the new update but the author name was not updated for it. So until the next theme version please use this CSS code in the mobile theme’s custom code box:

.td-post-author-name div { display:inline; }

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Thanks for the update, glad to hear you guys plan on making updates to the post, homepage and smart templates.

Our responsive mobile site was slow, clunky, cluttered and FULL of those nasty ads that redirect you off the page and sends you to the app store, Google Play store or some weird, unobscure blank page. The mobile theme takes care of ALL of that, so overall, I’m happy, and our readers are happy that they can finally view our content on smartphones 🙂

Thanks again, and looking forward to the updates. Keep up the great work!

Hello,
thanks for the feedback. now i boxed the content, hopefully there will be an update 😉

another question, i have disabled the logo in the header with this code:

.td-header-style-5 .td-main-menu-logo{
display: none;
}

can i hide it only in normal mode, but sticky menu should show the Logo.
And at the moment the menu-buttons are aligned to the left, can i center them?

have a nice evening, Jan

Hi,

I’m trying to update the theme automatically but it seems that there’s wrong in this plugin. I copied correctly the token and item ID for my theme Newspaper but this is the notification I’m getting
Envato Market Notification
And also I can’t see the Update theme badge
No Update Theme badge

I followed this correctly: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/

Hello Rosquill,

Our icons are created using a content code as you ca see here -> http://screencast.com/t/ZyhiLVxMsT Before achieving best results, please notice that you should have loaded yet the font of your icons to bring some results to the front end. You will have to try to find some plugins which have this functionality and see which are proper with the theme and then, using the specified class you can target it. (An an example you can try the Font Awesome) Please notice that this task involve custom work and if you are not aware of the steps in this regard, please consider hiring a freelancer/developer to help you because we cannot provide custom work at the moment, sorry!

Please notice that it is not enough to only activate the Child Theme. So, all the modifications have to be made in The Child theme if you want to not lose them in next updates. After doing this, please consult the documentation for Child Theme because there you will find what type of files can be added in the Child theme and what not. Please check here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-child-theme-support-tutorial/

Thanks for your understanding!
