Thank you for your response. I did update the theme and all of its plugins. But 504 errors were occurring. It actually was taking so many resources that my hosts asked that I revert to my previous versions of WP and themes. I’m currently testing with the new version on WP 4.5.1 and the theme seems to work without any issues. The issues only arise with WP 4.5.2.

UPDATE: The FB issue was resolved automatically, the other issues persists.

The new version of the theme just came out this week, so you might try updating now?

The theme *was* updated for WP 4.5x a couple of weeks ago and has been working fine over here.

You also need to update all the included plugins with the theme, and not the theme by itself; clear your caching, reswt CDN, turn off all plugins except visual composer to make sure site works with base elements.

Not sure that helps, but that is what I went through.

You need to update the social counter to the 4.0 version, it is not automatically updated with the 7.0 theme.

The bad news is the new social counter is not displaying the facebook followers numbers, in my case it shows ( 0 followers ), but the other social networking is displaying correctly. I’m now waiting for some solution…

I had the exact same issue this morning when I updated to v7.0. I couldn’t for the life of me figure out what the heck this gradient bar was on the left side of the screen. I hid it via CSS, and then figured out about an hour later that this was the background for the new mobile menu. I ended up just adjusting my CSS as I couldn’t figure out as to why this was showing on the Desktop version. Here is what I used in the CSS of my Child theme:

@media only screen and (min-width:640px) and (max-width:1023px) {

This hid the menu from showing up on the Desktop and Tablet versions of the site, but still showed up on the Mobile Phone version. If you don’t want it hid on the tablet version, then just leave that out and just use the top section for Desktops. This was the only way that I could figure out how to remove it as I couldn’t find any info on it.

Yes it’s working now because i wipe my server and reinstall wordpress theme and newpaper.
but now I have another problem. before I had a visual overview of different predefined template when I created a page. Now I have just their names.
Also when I go to dial in visual product license, it says:
In order recevoir all benefits of Visual Composer you need to activate your copy of plugin. By activating Visual Composer license you will unlock premium features – Direct plugin updates and access to official support.
Activate visual dial.

Any update on the embed internal links issue? Has it been fixed with Newspaper 7? With the latest 6…. version this issue still exits. In the meantime we have many posts looking really ugly. As soon as the featured image of a post contains “䔔Ĕ”ö””Ö” or “ü””Ü” also the picture breaks.

Thank, now it’s working but there’s a new problem with the social counter Plugin, Facebook counter doesn’t work, and i have already updated theme, vc and the plugin indeed.

Thanks a lot for the reply, my Newspaper version is 6.7.2 (I updated it 2 days ago, and didi not know there was a 7).
Problem: Facebook counter does not count. Youtube counter works OK.
Steps I have done:
– Deacivate and delete Social Counter plugin
– Delete cache
– Deactivate Newspaper theme, installed version 6.7.2, and activated it
– Installed again Social Counter (3.2)
– Updated Visual Composer to 4.11.2

but still Social counter does not work with FB.

Fully understand the need to update a child theme, but most developers will advise on any changes required to child themes in their readme or revisions. Anyway, we’ve got nothing in our child theme functions apart from a minor revision to the author element. Nothing that affects page layout. We’ve recreated the child theme, but that has made no difference.

We’ve got the social counter to show by uninstalling/reinstalling, but the counters have reset to zero.
We still have the display issues on chrome for any user that has not cleared their cache.
VC will show in Firefox now, but still fails to load on Chrome, even with cleared caches/cookies, unless the divtag mobile theme is installed.
