Hi, I have updated NewsMag theme version (2.3.6) and Visual Composer doens’t works correctly. When I edit page content, see that Visual Composer box text doesn’t display the content. Stay closed and I can’t see the content.

I run Newspaper on two sites:

I need to update to the latest version of Newspaper before updating WordPress, so I installed the Envato WordPress Toolkit plugin on one of the sites and followed the instructions here: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-automatically-update-newspaper-theme/
However, when I click ‘save’ on the Envato Toolkit page after inputting my API key, it seem to change the entry in that box, and although it has found Newspaper on the Themes tab, it doesn’t say there’s an update available, although I know there is because I’m running version 6.6 right now. (and WordPress 4.4.2)
Has anyone else reported seeing this problem / do you have any idea why this might be happening?

I have a problem with the facebook counter. I’m administrator of the fabook Page, I create a Facebook APP, and I have the ID page, the APP ID, the Secret keys and I have the “Get Access Token”. But the counter display 0 likes about my facebook page.

and the plugin it’s updated.
Do you have a tips for the facebook counter can working ?

Thank you for your suggestions, which was spot on. Before the update all of the plugins were working, and as we had not added any new plugins, we didn’t think about this option. But yes, we found one plugin that was causing issues, and have informed the developer.

so, how can i update Visual Composer (ver.4.11.2) and also, the latest version of the theme (v. 6.7.1).

Each change it’s noted in theme’s change-log and if you miss an update there won’t be a problem with the update process. Adding to many files in theme’s package would increase to much path’s size that it’s sent at envato and we can’t afford that.

After WordPress’s last update V 4.9 of Visual Composer, which was included in theme’s path, had some issues and there wasn’t possible to edit the page anymore. Also there was a jQuery conflict but we update the theme and not these issues are fixed. In the update we included V 4.11.2 of Visual Composer which works fine with WordPress V 4.5.
Make sure you update the theme at current version available on themeforest, V 2.3.6, update the Visual Composer at V 4.11.2 following our documentation: https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-how-to-update-the-theme/ – https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-how-to-update-visual-composer-plugin/
Also deactivate all plugins, leave just Visual Composer active, clear all caches then test again.

Unfortunately, these types of filters have not been designed to be used in this case, as you wish and unfortunately, I cannot give you a quick response for your request because it is not a simple task to implement this. I have added your suggestion to our list of improvements and in a future update it is possible but we cannot say for sure if it will get done in the next update because we have a big list of fixes, improvements, and suggestions to implement. It’s hard to filter them and select which one gets implemented now and which one gets postponed. The developers decide if it gets done or not, though. Plese notice that is not a simple task and easy to implement this. If you want to display more levels in our theme and you need to have this option as soon as possible, please consider hiring a freelancer/developer to implement this in our theme because we cannot provide customization services at the moment, sorry!

I guess I read somewhere over the forum that it was possible to change the category tag background on blocks, for it to match the category tag color on posts/blocks title (as now it is black, in a general way) but, I can’t find the thread where I saw that and how to achieve it.
Anyway, how could I modify the code to achieve that, please?
Just as a suggestion:-)): would it be possible to include in a future version/update that option when creating/setting a block (with a selectable option or through a class code)?

Have you treed to update the theme at v 2.3.6 and Visual Composer plugin at 4.11.2? Also try to deactivate all plugins except Visual Composer, clear all caches and test again.

Andrei, thanks for your quick reply. Basically let me begin with the first problem. There was an update of wordpress that was available. I have updated my wordpress. Then suddenly, I realised that my visual composer was not working. So, the elements were frozen, and the configuration of this visual composer was different.
As a result, I couldn’t drag and drop new boxes from visual composer. When I published the home page, all the videos on the homepage were frozen. But when you click on the video and go to its page, the video is available and working.
After several attempts to figure out the problems, I deleted the entire website, included wordpress. I uploaded wordpress again and then uploaded newsmag file. I have followed the instructions on the plugins that come with it, included visual composer.
The problem did not solve. I realised that the plugin of the visual composer was probably the cause of the problem. So, I decided to load it from the file in my computer and follow your instructions. It did not solve the problem.
I came to realise that there was a new visual composer. Its message reads:Welcome to Visual Composer 4.11
Congratulations! You are about to use most powerful time saver for WordPress ever – page builder plugin with Frontend and Backend editors by WPBakery. Although from your documentation, there was a clear indication that newsmag comes with visual composer, I decided to go ahead and buy this new visual composer.
It has to be activated and now all the functions of visual composer have been restored. I can drag boxes and place them on the home page.
But when you publish the home page, the problem is still there. The videos on the home page are frozen while the videos in individual pages are working.
I hope I have made myself more comprehensive.

Yesterday I updated several plugins, including Visual Composer, now my client can not use it because the visual composer elements (see screenshot) are not displayed. I’ve updated the theme, visual composer version I have is 4.8.1. Thank you very much.

Yes, you can update only the plugins because in the new update no changes were made in the theme code.

PS: I deleted the old version through FTP and updated the theme via WordPress using theme file downloaded from envato released last day.
