We have this feature on our to do list and hopefully we can provide such a feature in a future update. The developers decide when it will be done though as this feature is technically difficult to implement.
Until we can implement such an option you can maybe find a plugin that does it. We cannot recommend any as we have not tested them, but you might find one that works.

I’m pretty sure there are no css syntax error in our theme. Even if there were, envato would not have allowed a theme version with syntax errors to go online. They check every update and every theme before allowing them to go online. Please disable all your plugins except visual composer and clear your cache. Plugins have their own css and this, in most cases, overwrite the theme’s. Also check for any open tags in your custom code. This issue can cause a lot of problems and it is a simple thing to overlook.
Try it out and let us know how it goes.

It depends on what version of the theme you had before the update. If by any chance you had version 4 and updated to version 6+ then this is normal as newspaper 6 is a totally different theme from newspaper 4. If you already had newspaper 6, then please provide examples of styles that do not work anymore so we can figure out what you modified and if that particular class has changed.
You can also try it without any plugins. Disable all of them except visual composer and check again.

I recently updated my staging site to Newspaper 6.6.3 with Visual Composer 4.9 and Templatera 1.1.8, which are all the latest version. However Templatera no longer works. The button in the toolbar is normal a button that looks like a layout, but is now just a plus icon and doesn’t bring up the templates when I click on the button.
I have submitted a support ticket with WPBakery regarding this issue. They said the issue is likely a plugin or the theme I’m using and to try deactivating other plugins and try a default theme. I deactivated all of my plugins except for Visual Composer and Templatera, but the bug is still there. Unfortunately there is no way to test VC and Templatera with the default theme since VC is integrated into Newspaper.
Is there any reason why Templatera would not work with Newspaper? Is there a way I could test VC and Templatera with a default theme like 2015? Does anyone else use Templatera and have this issue?
Just as a heads up as of 12/23 the 6.6.3 package downloaded from envato has the old revslider plugin in the plugins folder zipped up as if its new (revslider.zip)
Theres an additional folder in plugins called revolution_slider_5 that has the revslider.zip (updated) inside. But the one revslider.zip in the plugin root folder is not the new version
Before the update I had a little more than 70 errors on Google Structured Data Testing Tool (per post). Now, after the update, the errors reduced to 4, but there is still room for improvement.

I just updated my Newspaper 6 theme to the latest version with the latest version of wordpress and I am using the sample child theme that I downloaded from themeforest. I am getting css warnings of unexpected css tokens and invalid property declarations, and the image zoom feature on the big grid blocks doesn’t work in Safari. The image zoom works in Chrome and Firefox, but when I hover over the big grid images in Safari, they don’t zoom at all.
Looking at some of the warnings, there seems to be errors in the CSS syntax in the core theme code. I don’t get any warnings in Chrome or Safari.

Please make sure that you updated the theme according with our documentation: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/ deactivate all plugins and also you update the plugins included in theme path Newspaper-tf\plugins clear all caches and test again.
If you use child theme for files customizations it’s a good practice to check update_log.txt file for each update and see what files had been modified so if those specific files are used in the child theme you will have to check your customizations to not break the functionality of the theme.

I’ve tested on my side and everything seems to work fine. I cannot recreate this error. Please try to update our theme to latest version (6.6.3) if you do not have already, disable all the active plugins and install only the plugins that come bundled with our theme and try again. After this advice, if your problem is still there, please provide your URL website so I can further inspect the issue.

The problem with google news is exactly as Chris said in the above posts. The problem fixed was related to errors in the google structure data analysis. The update does not provide a fix for google news issues, nor does it cause these issues.

Sorry for the delay. We answer from the oldest topic to the newest and because you updated your topic it was always on top.
The theme was designed to display only an image + link as a background ad. To change this implementation you will need many customizations in theme’s core files. You can try to edit the function which render the background ad in td_background_render.php: http://screencast.com/t/EUbcEBFhiz
Please consider that this is a complex task which require many customizations and for the moment we cannot offer any type of custom work. If you can’t do this by yourself my advice is to hire a freelancer from sites like http://studio.envato.com/ to do it for you.

@vitruvian1618 you can check our documentation regarding the update processes here: https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-how-to-update-the-theme/ Make sure that you do a clean update, meaning the we recommend to delete the old theme files, clear all caches, deactivate all others plugins that you have it installed, purge cdn files then follow our documentation in order to install the theme again. Also you need to update the plugins included in Newsmag-tf/plugins folder. The only required plugin is Visual Composer, others plugins are optional and you have to update them only if you use them.

Panda Recovery: A Tip.
I’ve been suffering for sometime with lack of Google traffic. Never giving up I recently may have stumbled on the needle in the haystack that I’ve been looking for for over two years. Hope I can spare anyone two years of trying to recover, perhaps someone out there can benefit from what I discovered.
I visted the free web tool at http://barracuda.digital/panguin-tool/ to see when the **algorithm** punished me.
I discover: Panda 28 (4.2) From: Fri Jul 17 2015 From 442 visits to 85 visits on Dec 13. I figured it was time to put a stop to the landslide.

I did a Google Search for my site as site:mysite.com and discovered many urls being indexed as: mydomain.com/?attachment_id=1202
My first thought was to check Yoast Seo, and the box was checked for “Redirect attachment URL’s to parent post URL.”
So why was this happening?
Well, a couple things. I had at least over a hundred images in my Media Gallery that were unattached to a post. It seems when you use the wordpress gallery code, which I did, the images were not being attached to the post. Also, I uploaded many photos to have on deck for future posts. I had posts that I deleted and the images were still running wild. What a mess. So I cleaned up all images. Deleted the images that were not being used and attached images to the respective posts.
Then visited the url removal tool and entered all the urls that had ?attachment_id= to be removed from Google index.
I sure hope this works for me. I feel good about the cleanup. The attachment urls are indeed thin content and I don’t want them indexed. Especially rogue id’s.
Hope this helps someone. I’ll come back and update in the spring and see if we recovered from Panda.

In my wordpress media gallery, the logos I am using for the Newspaper template are showing up as unattached. How do i fix that? I suppose i could set up a redirect from the attachment id page of the logo to the image or home page…
