Thanks for the suggestion, I’ve added it on our list and we will consider it for next theme updates but we must choose carefully what features will implement as we have over 250 requests on our list, and the user always must get what is best from us.

Hi

The theme was designed to display the same image as background ad every time an user visit the site. To display different images you will probably need a js script which load a different image when the user visit the site again.
This is a complex tack which require lots of customizations in theme’s core files and I can’t provide a quick answer now. You can also try a plugin which allow you to mange the background ads but I can’t make any recommendations in this regard as we didn’t do any tests, but you can check the most popular free plugins available, maybe someone from the community who uses such a plugin may provide some feedback.
If this does not help you can look for a freelancer form sites like http://studio.envato.com/ to do it for you as unfortunately we cannot offer custom work as we work hard on the development, updates, fixes and support.

I follow your guide but WordPress reports there is an existing folder and can not upgrade Visual Composer. So, can I update this plugin via ftp?

Ok, thank you, I wait for the new update.

Sorry, you meant the design options not showing up on dashboard as to set some designs for the element and not what I was saying to remove the nag that when you update the plugin. I think Tagdiv has it set the way it is to not show because of some issues or something like that.

So to change those settings you have to do as I said before like to get rid of nag to use the options on another theme and then go back to Newsmag but there is a chance you still can’t do much with the design options in what you want. I don’t know anything about deprecated error.

They will recommend you use the updated version they offer with theme update but if you want to take a chance and get the free update that they are offering on the Visual Composer page here:

It is a free security update they are offering to everyone even for those themes including it.

Tagdiv will tell you its not tested yet before they release it with theme but I am currently using with no issues and for the missing design options.

You need to go into maintenance mode and deactivate theme and use default theme like Twenty Fifteen or similar theme and then go to Visual Composer dashboard menu and it should show the design options and just resave the options without changing anything and reactivate Newsmag and that nag will be gone.

As for tabs on the new v4.8.0.1 on the Visual Composer link above. That element loads up just fine for me and lets me set options for it. It also looks like the same tabs element for the older versions too.

Can’t answer for the design options in the tabs element since I never done that before.

I hope I covered what you were asking otherwise I am not sure what you meant and I am sorry if I got that wrong.

I don’t see anything for bold on title in tabs element either.

Just wanted to quickly add some more questions:

3. When will Visual Composer be updated? I am asking this because I get this message:
Elements within this list are deprecated and are no longer supported in newer versions of Visual Composer.

4. Should I even use the Tabs-element (see my question under 2) as this will be a deprecated element. And will there be something similar to this in a newer version?

Thanks, I have updated to the latest version but your method of how to update is out of date. This show Newspaper 4 way to update not Newspaper 6 which is different as all the plugins are contained in the Newspaper section.

Now I get this message at the top of the Dashboard:

Important notice: You have an outdated version of Visual Composer Design Options. It is required to review and save it. Open Design Options.

When I click Open Design Options I get this: You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page.

Can you help?

1. Make sure you have enabled post views: http://screencast.com/t/9okDbuympmU then go to post editor, edit a post and refresh the browser a few times. After that check in custom filed section if the values are updated: http://screencast.com/t/ZdE16XKxBg – if they do make sure you empty all caches and check again.
Please also note that if you use cache the seven days sorting may not work well, if you want an accurate result using it, you should disable cache.

2. Please make sure you have posts with comments according with the filter set from that block. This options http://screencast.com/t/OYpgEUeDB refers at the order in which posts will be displayed in block, meaning that the post with the most comments will be displayed first.

3, I am not sure at what filter are you referring so please provide a specific url where this issue appear so I can inspect it closer. Meanwhile try to clear all caches and test again.
