We are using latest version of WordPress and Newsmag available. We are using different backgrounds for different categories. But when we enable clickable background ad, other backgrounds direct clicks to same url.
What we need is, defining different clickable background images for different categories with different urls. How can we do this?
This is our primary concern now.
Also some advertisers are not happy with background ad because they can’t correctly see the 1920×1080 backgrounds in their 1366×768 laptops or netbooks. Although I’m well aware we are in the age of at least Full HD, they are not. My suggestion for future updates is an option to include lower resolution devices in the background, as in the ad system where we can choose lower resoultion or different sizes for different devices. But this time different backgrounds for different resoultions.
This is not our primary concern but I believe such an option would increase viability of Newsmag for medium, large publishers as a main theme or system. I’m also aware that you may just ask us to customize our theme with a freelancer for such changes. But that road comes with update and maintenance difficulties and other unforseen bugs.

we have been using Newsmag theme for about a year now and never experienced any problems with it. Couple days ago we updated to latest version of the theme (2.2.1) and our website is now so slow that it is almost unusable.
We tested our servers and even updated them to try and solve this problem with no success. Finally, we analyzed SQL queries and found that it takes more than 4,5s to perform 97 select queries by the theme.
Can you please help us sort this out as loading times are now hurting our traffic. In fact, we probably lost two days worth of traffic because of this.

I just updated Newsmag and no post images are showing on my PC in chrome. Laptop and Tablets are fine in Chrome.
Cant work out how to fix this?

Loading time is now of 7/8 seconds sometimes more.
Any real fix for this ? Before i update to the new version it didnt seems to have such issue.

I have tested this on my end, and could not recreate the problem. Please try to disable all your plugins except visual composer and see if one is conflicting with the new version of VC.

If you added the link in theme’s spot for background ad: http://screencast.com/t/OgYIKsF1BCW every time when a user visit the site and click on the background will be redirected at that url. To make the background ad available only for users which visit the site for the first time, you need to make some custom changes in theme’s ads system and unfortunately we cannot offer any type of custom work at this moment as we work hard on the development, updates, fixes and support. You can always get a freelancer from sites like: http://studio.envato.com/ if you don’t know how to do it yourself.

We have added a quick fix(general modal) for user that have old posts to have this option to force modal for all images and we will try to improve this in a future update. You are right it is annoying but we will try to solve it and I have added your suggestions to our list and the developers will consider this.

Newspaper 6 is a whole new theme that is released for free for all of our existing customers so an update from 4 to 6 may cause the same issues as switching to another theme (but we did try to maintain compatibility where ever possible).
Always make a full backup of your current installation – https://codex.wordpress.org/WordPress_Backups and then do a clean update, meaning that we recommend that you delete the old version of the theme before uploading the new one – https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/ update also the plugins that come with the theme files from the /plugins folder. In the “how to update” guide is specified that you will have to run the script that will import from database your settings.
The shortcodes have been changed so old ones will not work anymore. Also you have to update the child theme(if you use one), please note that old files customization or custom css will not work with the new version and you will have to adjust and re-add them.
Bottom line is that newspaper 6 is a whole new theme built from scratch.

Then you need to remove the title’s padding to move it to the left:
You can do this with 2 methods. Either put this code in the theme panel->custom css
.td_smart_list_6 .td-sml-current-item-title {
padding-left: 0!important;}
Or you can edit the style.css file and set padding-left to 0:

Keep in mind that if you update, modifications to style.css will be lost.

About the header.php, there is no extra line. I didn’t change anything.

in the new zip version still shows the file changed from 6.4 to 6.5.1 and not the file changed from 6.5 to 6.5.1
what files have been changed from 6.5?
I think I understood that changes only visual composer, nothing else…

Ran the update script, updates plugins, and am having all sorts of problems.
1. wp booster error:
Please update your [tagDiv social counter] Plugin!
2. Update script didn’t end up giving me the same header & footer (header is blank, footer is different colour with extra stuff displayed)
3. new them using different images sizes
