@aleister Did you tried Newsmag 1.7 also with latest version of Visual Composer plugin(4.4.3) and doesn’t work? I know that you have that problem with memory, but you can try it just to see if works and also you can change the memory limit. We did not tested latest theme update with older versions of the plugin, but normally it should work.
Also please make sure that you try this only with Visual Composer active, disable all other plugins, clear cache and purge you files if you use CDN. Let me know hoe it goes!

We understand you point and we’re sorry for all the trouble caused. Unfortunately within the most recent theme update we had some issues which we haven’t managed to find in our tests.
We’re currently working on fixing all reported issues and soon we will release an update which will fix them all.

The main issue has been fixed and the theme with the fix is live on themeforest.
We’re very sorry for this.
We mistakenly used a PHP 5.4 feature in the code and we failed to test the theme on php 5.2.8 (the minimum version required by WordPress).

We’ll have a much better checklist for deploy and I will make sure stuff like this doesn’t happen again.

As Chris also stated if you had changes to theme’s files then updating the theme will lose theme so it would be better to note your changes then update the theme using the guide below (FTP method) and make the changes again.

Please also make sure you do a backup of your current theme installation and wordpress also.

@osckar Please take a look at your plugins and see if they are updated and work properly with WordPress like Christopher suggested. Also please use only the plugins that you really need and disable the others. Like I said and also you figured out there is a conflict between some plugins, so I cannot provide you a solution for this. Only you can solve this issue.

Sorry for the delay!
Unfortunately the theme doesn’t have an option for that, and we cannot provide custom work at this moment as we’re a short team and our products development, updates, fixes and support takes all the time that we have, so considering this I believe the best solution for this would be to try and find a plugin which you can use for that however I can’t recommend you one as we haven’t tested the theme with any of those types.
You can also try to find and hire a developer or an experienced freelancer to get this done for you.
We had different request related to the reviews system however we haven’t decided on anything until now. I’ll add your request on our list and consider it if we plan to improve the theme’s review system in the future.

Hi,

If you update the theme from the previous version(4.6.1) you can use the patch to update, but if you update from the older version please update the theme following this guide and use ftp method: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme/ and also update the plugins that come with the theme’s files from the /plugins folder.

Please make sure that your remove the previous version of the social counter plugin you’ve used until update then install the social counter plugin form the /plugins folder that was provided within the theme’s files. Make sure you use version 2.9.
To update it you just need to remove the plugin you’re currently using then install the one we’ve provide within theme files.

We have fixed most of the issues occurred during this last update. We will release an update in which will fix all issues and also include some option for the new lazy loading for image feature and as soon as we’ll have all this ready the update will be available.

This error was already fixed for Newsmag theme and for Newspaper will be fixed on version 5. On that version will be a major update for Newspaper and all these errors will be fixed.

If you need to update please follow this guide to update and use FTP method: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme/ and update alos the plugins that come with the theme’s files from /plugins folder.
Please also try this without any plugins active, leave just Visual Composer active, empty cache and purge your files if you use CDN and check if the issue is still there.

When you update the theme Theme Panel customizations should not be deleted(only theme’s files modifications) but if you want to be sure you can make a backup anyway.
