I have tested this an seems to work fine.
Please delete the plugin and then add the plugin by uploading it from the plugins folder that we included with the themes files.
Should work, if not please update the theme(if you are not using the latest version already, which is 4.1) and try again the same way but try to add the revolution slider plugin without other slider that might generate conflicts.

Could you please update your documentation for doing the logo in 4.0.2
I created a .png file of 300×100, and another .png file for 600×200. Theme Panel in 4.0.2 has 2 places for the 300x 100 and 2 places for the 600×200 (logo, and Mobile logo). I don’t understand why a 600 size is needed?
The logo is blocked in iphone by a layer of white (banner, menu I don’t know what it is) but it’s not showing up on top.
Please gather all .css fixes and post in documentation as one set of instructions or please issue patch file that fixes that.

the last two updates are giving us serious problems, the first pages of the post, then log in, and now feeds are not working and they point to the home, how come all these problems??

I have tested once again this just like you said using just 12 articles, got the exact the expected result, 7 articles in block 7 and 5 in block 8 using the unique articles feature and theme’s last version 4.1.

Should work fine, try to update your theme and make sure you don’t use any other block or slider on your page that could use the posts, in that case the posts appear there and not in the block when using the unique article feature.

When updating from 3.9.2 to the newest version (4.1) I noticed that my complete lay-out of all my posts has changed, in a negative way. I understand that changes will always be made, but this changes the complete look&feel of my website. Therefore I have downgraded back to 3.9.2 now.
My question is how I can update to 4.1 (because I love all the new features), but keep the settings for the posts as it used to be. Or are there some settings I can edit to keep the old look & feel? Or do i need to edit something in one of the newspaper files somewhere? (I’m not a programmer, so can you tell me exactly where?)
Same question for the whitespace there is between the picture on top and the first text. I noticed that this whitespace has been removed for posts in the newer version. Where can I edit this?
What is the default font by the way? I really like it.

After the 4.1 update I lose the BG image for the Home page. Settings > Background. All the Categories Background images work normally its just the Home page.
Caches all cleared and tested.

I was trying to add responsive ads to my site but the “tablet tp” and “mobile” div doesn’t seems to be working. You can see on my site on the Subscribe section (scroll down). I have created a custom subscription box and I’ve inserted its code on the divs. Example:

I am not sure why but the code doesn’t works in “td-visible-tablet-tp” and “td-visible-phone”. I’ve tried it with different codes but doesn’t work at all.
Notice: The code was same on all of them. I tried it from three different smartphones and tablets.
Please help. If you’re planning to fix in the next update, its not good for me. It is very urgent. So, can you please kindly provide the fix now?

What I do is use the links found in my posts under the page speed topic, and just manually minify the main style.css file, and main .js file.
E.g., for CSS:
cssminifier.com
for JS:
http://gpbmike.github.io/refresh-sf/
basically paste the main style.css file into the minifier, then copy and paste the minified version back into the styles file and then upload/over-write main one on the server. Takes 2 minutes. Done.
If you read the other sticky on speed by “Steven”, he has been using a minify plugin that seems to work.
In my case mod_pagespeed minifies my HTML, so don’t have to deal with that. I then use cssminifier to optimize the main css file.
Since I have to do couple of hacks to my functions.php file, and switch on the author name on posts, home page modules, and swap out the field name for view counter to our existing field with EVERY update, it’s not much more work to do the CSS and JS minify on main couple of files each time as well. No plugins needed 🙂
And, another option – if you use GTMetrix to test your site … they can actually spit out “optimized” versions of stuff for you, which is cool.
Just as an anecdote on minification:
minifying the main style.css file will take the size from 286kb to 204kb, as savings of about 80kb, which is actually quite a bit.

From my understanding, WP doesn’t generate thumbnails until the image is fully uploaded. What does matter is the size of the image you’re uploading. E.g., the size you’re using should not be larger than 100kb, and ideally 60kb max. If you’re uploading a 2MB image, it’s obviously going to take longer on a slow connection.
Converting a single image to multiple sizes with imagemagick on the server is usually a very fast process and used little RAM if the original image size is not too large (again if you’re uploading 2MB files, that would be a big problem!).
But I’d make sure you comment out the sizes you’re not using, as that does cut the time for processing the image way down. I have a hunch it’s more to do with the refresh and update of the media manager and upload in the browser than the actual image processing.
Sorry that’s not a perfect answer, either.
I suppose I should add, I don’t mean adding new functions, but rather changing existing functions. I know I could just change it in the parent theme but obviously that gets overwritten when you update the theme.
Hey guys, so I tend to heavily edit themes to my needs whether it’s stylesheets, function additions or actually getting into the core files of themes (i.e. Newspapers wp-admin files) and since some of the deep files aren’t child-theme compatible I’m curious how you guys handle customizing the theme(s) and still being able to easily update the theme without having to re-do a ton of work?
Do most of you guys customize and then wait for major release updates and then worry about having to do touch-ups or?
i updated to the latest version today and changed the default post template to full-screen, but after that featured image doesn’t show up, just a gradient
