The Newspaper theme update brings a change for the theme implementation.
When you’ll be updating to the Newspaper 9.7 version, you’ll need to activate the tagDiv Composer to keep the Newspaper theme functionality you’ve previously used.
Otherwise, you will have basic WordPress functionality, complying with Envato WordPress Requirements – https://help.author.envato.com/hc/en-us/articles/360000472383-WordPress-Theme-Requirements

Works even better to make the lowest menu point more visible. It helps for the moment but of course, it doesn’t stop the scrolling in background problem.
I think on “normal sites” this could be fixed with something like
overflow:scroll !important;
-webkit-overflow-scrolling: touch;
but on AMP this is not working. Something for the programmers to look at for the next update.

Check if your theme was properly installed or updated via FTP way, check the system status parameters to be increased according to our documentation from here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/ In most cases, that problem happens due to a bad configuration of your parameters. PHP memory can be exhausted and that’s why you cannot save anything.

Hi the tagdiv social counter for the NewsMag theme is not working for facebook, it was working fine showing 78,000 followers but today it is reading 0.
I have tried deactivating and reactivating the plugin but there is no change?
Has FB updated their API or something?
Any help would be greatly appreciated

Thank you for the feedback, much appreciated. By auto update you mean thorough the Envato market plugin? I will add this for more testing on our part, to try and replicate it. the activation key shouldn’t be removed by updating with this plugin.

Now the tagDiv composer has to be active at all times in order to maintain the same functionality. All the theme plugins have to be update manually now, it is not allowed for them to update automatically. So if no one is there to manually update them, they will be deactivated, this will cause problems with the website most likely.

How do i show post updated date instead the published date in google search results while using “Fast Mag” post template. I know how to do it without using the tempaltes, and it used to work. Doesnot seem to work anymore.
I deleted the date element on the post template and i think this has started to remove the date completely from the search results. I would prefer to show the post updated date rather than not showing any date at all.

What builder did you use to create the page? If you edit the page with the builder it was built with, does it look properly?
From what I can see those are column text elements which contain images, entered in a full row (not split into more columns).

Now the tagDiv composer has to be active in order to have the same functionality as before. Does it look different if you deactivate the tagDiv composer as a quick test? Also try to update the WPBakery plugin to 5.7, it is included in the latest theme package

Unfortunately there is no options in theme to can change the h3 header from this block this can be achieve only if you make changes in theme files, but these changes will need to be done after each update.

I just logged into WP Dashboard to continue designing my site, and upon visiting the front page, it looks completely different from when I last left it. It looks like a number of elements are not working all of a sudden.
There are no signs of any updates needed, and I have not installed any new plugins or back-end changes since my last visit.

It is mandatory to delete all what was left from the older version before intalling this update. Overwriting the files would cause a lot of problems. If you are certain that you have installed the updates correctly by deleting all of the older versions and made a clean install from scratch please contact us via email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide admin login, as well as cPanel or FTP if possible. First off, thanks for making a great theme. Love Newsmag, been a fan for years.
But I wanted to offer a constructive criticism of your update process.
I’m a longtime customer (4+ years now) and have been with Newsmag for a long time, have been with you for countless updates. One complaint I have is that it forgets my license key for the theme, and when the update processed (I have it set to auto-update), I was out of town on this last occasion and the theme eventually locked down and my entire site broke.
I appreciate the updates but if there is a way you can have the updates remember the license keys as we have already keyed them in so I don’t have to re-do it every time there is an update, that would be great.
It seems silly to have to re-enter in the key every time I update the theme.

After a few seemingly simple updates, the table with logo’s at the botom of my homepage is totally disappeared.
How do I replace that????????? I’m not THAT technical why would I otherwise spend MY money on a WordPress theme… Explain it noob proof. No idea what that picture is doing.0%.

I had a back up, but thought you guys were smart enough to either help me or fix it. Guessed it wrong…2 weeks and it seems it’s going to be at least 3 weeks at this rate.
Got any tips to fix this without that file replacing or a back up? I already have written over my back up with new backups. I don’t like replacing files like that which I understand 0%. Also don’t know what to do with that file when the theme gets an update and its working properly again.

If you want to make modifications to theme files, note that most of them were moved in the tagDiv composer plugin after update 9.7 – https://tagdiv.com/updating-the-core-of-tagdiv-themes/
So the login modal file is now located here – http://prntscr.com/nl2r6r and would have to be modified there directly.

We recommend to make a backup ( making backup to your website will allow you to revert to the previews version that you have if there are some problem during the update ) to your website before make a theme update, also is indicate to try first on localhost the update or on website test.
There are no individual backup’s for sidebars, sorry!

The social counter seems fine – http://prntscr.com/nl2d73 from what I can see.
For the single image fix all you need to do is to download that file, then replace the current one in the composer plugin by following this path – https://prnt.sc/nikwre
This fix will be implemented in the next theme update, but I can’t say when it will be released.
