Hello, since I updated the latest version of Newspaper, I use the mobile theme for mobile, and some pages cannot be displayed on the mobile phone. I don’t know what’s the reason.
These are the following pages, they can be displayed normally on PC, but they cannot be displayed on the mobile phone. Can you check the reason for me? Thank you.

One of the new (bundled) plugins: tagDiv Mobile Theme. Went from version 1.1 to 1.2 (version 1.2 was included in the updated files for Newspaper 9.7) received yesterday.
Yet now that everything has been updated, the following message on our WP-Admin dashboard:
“This version of the tagDiv Mobile Theme plugin is not supported by the current activated theme!
Please update your theme!”
But we’ve already updated both the Newspaper theme (v.9.7) and the tagDiv Mobile Theme plugin (v1.2) to the most recent versions, included in the updated package just received yesterday.
Help
It’s not reading the PHP correctly, I’m getting artifacts.
The code is <?php if (twitch_is_live('moarcookies')) { ?>
<div align="center" style="background-color:#c1711b; color:#fff; padding-left:10px; padding-right:10px;">See when we’re live! Join in the conversation and click on the Twitch icon in the lower right of the stream!</div><br /><div id="twitch-embed"></div>
<script src="https://embed.twitch.tv/embed/v1.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript">
new Twitch.Embed("twitch-embed", {
width: "100%",
height: 480,
channel: "moarcookies",
allowfullscreen: true,
});
</script>
<?php } else { ?>
<?php } ?>
This, before the 9.7 update, worked fine and hid the content if I wasn’t live. Now it just shows up regardless.
what files specifically address the exploits, without having to update to 9.7? Because of the way that 9.7 is structured it nukes all of the customizations that are in my child theme.
https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/child-theme-and-9-7/
also, in the last version of 9.6.1 there is a directory labeled patch_9.6_9.6.1. what are those for and do those need to be uploaded separately to overwrite what is already in the existing Newspaper directory?

Hi,
Unfortunately, this issue happens due when you are using a single template default, sorry! It seems that we forget to add shortcode “<?php echo $td_mod_single
->get_social_sharing_bottom();?>” in “loop-single.php”. For example, you have style1 then you can add your custom shortcode at wp-content/plugins/td-composer/legacy/Newspaper/parts/single/loop-single-1.php
We consider fixing this issue in our future updates as soon as possible.
Hope this helps!
Sorry for the inconvenience!
Hi,
Your settings will remain, only the changes that have been made in theme files will be overwrite.
First please make a full backup to your website and try the new update on localhost or sub-domain, in this way you can see the changes and you’ll not break your website if there will be some problems.
Also please check this topic ->https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/important-new-update-newspaper-9-7/
Thank you for your understanding!
Hi,
When you’ll be updating to the Newspaper 9.7 version, you’ll need to activate the tagDiv Composer to keep the Newspaper theme functionality you’ve previously used.
Otherwise, you will have basic WordPress functionality, complying with Envato WordPress Requirements – https://help.author.envato.com/hc/en-us/articles/360000472383-WordPress-Theme-Requirements
Please check this topic -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/important-new-update-newspaper-9-7/
Thank you for your understadning!
Thank you, I’ll wait until the next theme update before updating my theme. Looking forward to the issues being fixed.
Do you use a child-theme? You should update it, too.
Hi,
You can use the modified date option that provides our theme to display each date you want on blocks, you can use this option, or use the old one with publish date.
Please check the settings from theme panel -> https://www.screencast.com/t/H7CFzAKVw7 set the option with tagDiv Composer-> https://www.screencast.com/t/OAoAK9oUu make an update on post -> https://www.screencast.com/t/vcQoLkQByxc now check the date of that post -> https://www.screencast.com/t/sKbLrp1jz also you can sort after a modified date -> https://www.screencast.com/t/VSePr63B
Also, the modified date on a post can be set with tagDiv Composer on single post template -> https://www.screencast.com/t/eYkeLqbCqV -> https://www.screencast.com/t/3qCSo9Nxtt
Thank you for your understanding!
Thank you for posting your screen shots. That is exactly what happened to my web site after I updated the Newspaper theme. After I activated TagDiv Composer the site went blank except for a few lines of code.
I restored my site from backup and am going to search for a new theme. What a PITA.
Hi,
The Newspaper theme update brings a change for the customers that use WP Bakery Page Builder with our Theme:
When you’ll be updating to the Newspaper 9.7 version, you’ll need to activate the tagDiv Composer to keep the Newspaper theme functionality you’ve previously used.
Otherwise, you will have basic WordPress functionality, complying with Envato WordPress Requirements – https://help.author.envato.com/hc/en-us/articles/360000472383-WordPress-Theme-Requirements
Please note that activating the tagDiv Composer doesn’t mean that you are required to use our custom page builder on your website.
You can use the WP Bakery page builder as you did before the update
We recommended you to do not use the tagDiv Composer and WP Bakery page builders on the same page though, because you cannot edit with WP Baker blocks and shortcodes created with tagDiv Composer or vice-versa.
If there is still a problem, please provide some more details, some screenshots and a link were I can inspect this problem.
Thank you!

Hi, tagDiv Composer is active! I think that not is a good solution change all posts template to solve this bug! I think you should release an update to fix the bug as soon as possible, for your users.

Please read this guide to learn about the new functionality of the new update: – https://tagdiv.com/updating-the-core-of-tagdiv-themes/
If you should need the provisos version of the theme ( v9.6.1 ) you can get it from here -> http://cdn.tagdiv.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/Newspaper-tf.zip
Thank you!
I tried several times to update, deactivate and reinstall a (manually via FTP and via wordpress) and the error is still there.
Hello,
Sorry but indeed there is an ongoing problem with the buttons that is also affecting older versions of the theme not just the latest update. We will look into this issue and provide a fix as soon as possible.
Thank you!
Hi,
Not taken the chance to update to the new version yet but have a questions regarding WPBakery which I use with Newspaper.
You write that: “4.2 Existing customer previously using the WPBakery Page Builder
This update will bring a small change in the way you work with Newspaper Theme as you will need to activate the tagDiv Composer plugin and keep it enabled.
Go to your WordPress admin area > Newspaper> Plugins and click the tagDiv Composer “Install/Activate” button.”
How is this if you have WPBakery as a separate plugin? I’ve got a separate license for WpBakery and don’t use the version that comes with the theme. Do I still need to activate Tagdiv composer? Last time I activeted tagdiv composer it caused all sorts of problems (and it can’t be used on pages) so I would prefer to avoid having it activated.
Hope you can give me some good advice.
Thanks,
Lars
Hi,
Please check this topic -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/important-new-update-newspaper-9-7/
Thank you!
same here!
You shouldn’t release this new update without proper documentation as to where one should apply the child theme customizations as of this new update. And as it is crucial update, you should release a beta for testing ahead so site owners could get prepare ahead.
You just say to us: we’ve changed the theme, as we wanted to or instructed to, whatever, go find yourself.
This is a disgrace!
