Simion, sam thing happened to my site and it was right after the new WordPress update. Unfortunately, we had to re-install the whole wordpress and the theme. I hope can find some solution for @Johann
Thank you so much! I got to know how to do it!. My question is… If I get newspaper theme updates where should I update, after the update all my customization of the theme will be lost??
Likely want to remove the javascript if you didn’t add it; then check your site with securi scanner for possible malware, change all your passwords, and make sure you have updated WP for the latest security flaw patched this week!
Also consider ‘hardening’ your website per the topic in the official WordPress docs on wordpress.org
You can easily add a GDPR privacy statement to your site, and numerous plugins to show a visitor a cookie message, which presumably you’re already doing for European visitors. You already have options to remove Google fonts, so very little to deal with really.
Also WordPress core added features to export ‘personal data’ in core updates this past month.

Hi,
The smart sidebar capabilities would depend on your theme version. If you are not using the latest theme version, you have to add a class to the row in order to make that column sticky
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/smart-sidebar-2/ (check lower in the guide)
Since the latest update, the option is now in the composer and not limited for that layout
– https://www.screencast.com/t/xdH54myuuTV3
We will update the smart sidebar guide as soon as possible.
Thanks
Hello MOKANA,
The Social Counter should work as properly because it was fully tested and returns well results. Make a full backup to your database and then, update the theme via FTP way, clear all the caches and check the results. Clear all the caches and also, use only our tested plugins if you want to achieve better theme’s results.
If the problem is still there, please send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com with your log-in information (wp-admin) so we can further investigate it closer to your setup page. Provide there the link to this conversation so we can quickly identify you.
Thanks for your understanding!
Hi,
You seem to be using theme version 8.2 so most likely Instagram or other socials will not work anymore. I believe a few months ago Instagram made modifications on their side, causing the Instagram widget and social counter to not work.
We adapted the theme to work with those modifications in version 8.7.3
– https://www.screencast.com/t/PhGONfNXtEt
You can view the whole changelog history here (bottom of the page)
So unless you update the theme, Instagram and other social capabilities of the theme will probably not work for you
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/
Thanks
Hi,
Please send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com with your log-in information (wp-admin) so we can further investigate it closer to your setup page. Before sending us this email, make sure that you have installed the latest version of the theme via FTP way, all of the required plugins have been updated and all of the untested plugins have been removed. Please provide the link of this conversation so we can quickly identify you.
Thanks for your understanding!
Hi,
I will add that to our testing list, the font issue is solved for the next theme update.
Hi,
If you are referring to the post section or Homepage button in the 404 pages, they inherit the theme accent color (button when hovered)
We will probably include 404 templates in an update of the Cloud library plugin, so you can design theme in any way you like.
Hello, today I updated the theme and noticed that when you go from the console to the site there is a white bar on the control panel on top. It appears for 1-2 seconds, then disappears. Maybe it’s a bug or something else
Hi,
The single templates currently have the default time format or time ago
– https://www.screencast.com/t/xAAoxCqbGZ
There is no modified date format available. Maybe it will be in the future.
The modifications you mention worked for the default post templates, the cloud templates do not function the same way. For default templates there is a solution in this topic
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/post-last-updated/
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Thanks
I did update the theme and the problem was solved. Thankful!
Hi,
@Bernie You could try this social counter plugin, see if it works with an older theme version
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/twitter-follower-count-is-0/
The recommend thing to do would be to update the theme and theme plugins
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/
There are constant changes made in each theme update, also it is the best practice to keep WordPress, the theme and plugins up to date.
Thanks
I did update the theme and the problem was solved. Thankful!
Update your website php version to 7.0 through php selector on your hosting..
Simion,
I was just checking our setup to update. Currently we are running NP 8.6 and the TD Social Counter Plugin is still on 4.2. Also I am not getting a way to update the plugin ?
So just wondering how I might get the new version here ?
Hello wltrpnm,
The Jetpack modules seem to be a problematic plugin which causes some issues in our theme and we cannot say for sure if this will be implemented in our theme in the future update, sorry!
Thanks for your understanding!
I will add this as a suggestion, there are many suggestions however. All will be inspected but it is very difficult to decide what gets implemented and what gets delayed or not considered. We try to add more with each theme update. Sorry for any inconvenience.
From what I can see you are using theme version 8.7.2 in that version the setting was not yet implemented.
If you don’t want to update I could give you a code to chnage the links colors for the inline text, like this
– https://www.screencast.com/t/cOYXcJcgIu
Use any color you want, the code can be entered in the Theme panel->Custom CSS code section
.tdm_block_inline_text a {
color: yellow;
}
If you decide to update the theme to the latest version, this is a guide
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/
Check the changelog here (to bottom of the page)
Note than since 8.7.5 the multi-purpose and tagDiv composer were combined into a single plugin. Also the Cloud library plugin was introduced
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/tagdiv-cloud-library-plugin/
