Hi

Try to deactivate all plugins except Visual Composer, clear all caches and check if the problem persist. If the problem is still there try this css in theme panel > custom code > custom css: http://screencast.com/t/vtUr2zpnguem

.vc_row{
margin-left: 0;
}

I’ve checked your site and found some js errors in browser console: http://screencast.com/t/00Ch1Qx8 Make sure that you remove any minifications tools if you use’re using and test again. Also you can try to update the theme and Visual Composer plugin at the current version available o themeforest: https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-how-to-update-the-theme/https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-how-to-update-visual-composer-plugin/ empty all caches ant test again. Before the update process do a full back-up to your database and the current WordPress install: https://codex.wordpress.org/WordPress_Backups in case something goes wrong you can get back to the previous version.

Thanks!

Hello wpdiv,

I have checked your website and I saw your problem with the mega menu. Please ensure that your problem is not caused by any plugins that you are using. Please try to disable all the active plugins, except Visual Composer, disable all the minification files, clear all your caches and install only the plugins that come bundled with our theme and try it again. It is necessary to follow this advice because you rule out the plugins in the conflict that might cause this problem.

If your problem is still there after this, please send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide your log-in information so we can take a look at your page setup. Please also provide a link to this topic so we know who you are.

Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!

Thank you for the message!

Hi

Please disable all your plugins except of Visual Composer, clear all caches, disable any css/js minifications and see if you still have this issue. Also you could check this by using the main theme and make sure you use the latest theme version.

Thanks!

Hello chjeff,

If you want to change the background image at Newspaper Travel Theme Edition, you can set it from Visual Composer. This kind of theme edition uses a stretch row from Visual Composer and Parallax with fade and you can change the image like this: http://screencast.com/t/zjed2bSgrQ

Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!

Hi

The settings for blog template can be found in theme panel here: http://screencast.com/t/ekMu3uh6JgT
You can display your latest article on a static page by setting this in page settings: http://screencast.com/t/9tXDdG4bLF or from block settings: http://screencast.com/t/8PxmQQ2KxB
I can’t say for sure if using the blog template will improve your seo. Basically if you’re using the pagebuilder+latest as a page template http://screencast.com/t/6JKuFKf5Q without any blocks added in Visual Composer part, you get the same functionality like the one of the blog template. However you have the advantage that if sometimes you want to use block on your page they can be added here: http://screencast.com/t/DgLPpa5cYqKu

Hope this help.
Thanks!

Hi,

Please try to disable all your plugins except of Visual Composer, clear cache and purge your files if you use CDN then check if you still have this issue. I have checked your site and you have some errors in the console – http://screencast.com/t/IKenDb7EZPo that may cause this, usually these errors are caused by plugins that conflict with the theme’s javascript.
Also please make sure you have updated the theme properly and also update the plugins that come with the theme files(VC, Social Counter..)

Thanks!

I tried deactivating the plugins and still I have the same problem . I don’t use visual composer for posts. My main problem is that when I create a post, the Kite One font works but the bold style when selected doesn’t show in bold. Anyway, I don’t mind trying with another google font.

By Toolbar toggle I mean this (see the 2 photos)
http://learn.wpeditpro.com/force-toggle-toolbar/

I want to have a selection of around 5 google fonts available in the toggle toolbar, that I can chose the font and also the size for every new post. Is there any way I can incorporate these 2 options to the toggle toolbar from the theme panel or do I need a plugin and if yes, what plugin?

Hello,

My website is very slow when using newspaper theme, it takes over 60 seconds to fully load!

Speed test pic when using newspaper theme: http://i.imgur.com/XiDqzjW.png 64 seconds to load!

Speed test pic when using tweenty sixteen theme: http://i.imgur.com/dOWinkn.png 0.8 seconds to load!

This obviously shows that there is something wrong with newspaper theme.

I am using Godaddy Managed WordPress hosting. It seems the theme is broken and does not work with managed wordpress hosting the way it should. (I find this very ironic, since its WORDPRESS hosting.)

What can I do to fix this problem?

I’m also getting random erros when trying to upload images to media library. There is also no preview thumbnails in my media library for pictures that were uploaded when using newspaper theme. Again, this only happens with newspaper theme. If I switch to any other theme like tweenty sixteen everything works perfectly.

(Also, the only plugin I use is visual composer.)

Please help.

You need to setup your “page” how you want it in the WP page;
use the preset “styles” which you can import without content …

or build your own with the visual composer by building a page, creating rows, and columns of content you want to feature on your home page; then set that as a static page from the WordPress admin panel.

See the theme docs on how to do all of this right side of page >>>>

Hi

I have tried to setup megam enu based on your instructions https://forum.tagdiv.com/mega-menu/ in one of my test site http://www.wpdiv.ml and locate the mega menu as illustrated in the screenshot http://prntscr.com/9kvd0q

But mega menu shows in rows instead of columns. Here is the custom page http://www.wpdiv.ml/mm/ which used to setup mega menu using visual composer custom menu element http://prntscr.com/9kvcjf

What i did wrong and why mega menu not showing in columns?

Expecting your reply

Hi,

@capitano83
– As Chris S said try to remove all plugins (Visual Composer, Social Counter, Speed Booster and Rev Slider) and install the new ones from Newsmag -> Plugins – http://screencast.com/t/MjPANfW3W

Also try to disable the rest of the plugins and see if the issue is still there. If the issue is gone enable the plugins one by one until you find the one which causes this issue.

Thank you!

Hello again @andrei_luca

I was messing around with everything trying to figure out a way to make that error go away and it looks like I was able to do it. When I used the Jetpack shortcode to put that subscription box on my main page using a ‘WP Text’ block in the Visual Composer, I was getting that error in the browser console. So what I did was switch that ‘WP Text’ block to just a standard text block and put the shortcode in there. Once I made that change, the error no longer appeared.

I also noticed that I had my Google tracking code on my website like three different ways: I’d put it in the appropriate space in the Newsmag Theme Panel, in a Google Analytics plugin, and then there was a third plugin too. I’ve removed the third plugin, but I like the stats that the Google Analytics plugin gives me on my Dashboard so I’d prefer not to lose it. Will having my tracking code on my site twice prevent it from working correctly?

Also, now that there are no errors in the browser console, does that mean that my Google Analytics will start working correctly? How can I tell if it’s working? It took like 2 weeks for my bounce rate to drop down to 0.5%, which is when I knew something wasn’t right. Will I have to wait 2 weeks to see if it goes back up to a more reasonable number, or is there another way to see if my analytics are working again?

Really appreciate everyone’s help with this.

Hello Bluehacks,

Please ensure that you have the latest version of the Theme (6.6.3) and this was released on 23 December 2015. This kind of issues were caused from WordPress 4.4 and not from Yoast Plugin. After you have updated your theme, please try to disable all the active plugins, except Visual Composer and SEO Yoast (tested plugin), clear all your caches and install only the plugins that come bundled with our theme and try it again. It is necessary to do this because in that way you can rule out the plugins in conflict which can cause some errors in theme.

Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!

Hello colgate,

If you want to disable all the sidebars in mobile and tablet mode, you need a bit of CSS to hide this option. Plase try the code below and place it in Theme panel->Custom CSS area, like this: http://screencast.com/t/5iPUuNZoso3l

@media (max-width:1018px){
.td-ss-main-sidebar {
display:none;
}
.td-pb-span8.td-main-content {
width: 100%;
}
}

The above code is only for posts. If you want to hide them for pages, it is not a simple task because it is not easy to target the sidebar class and it depending on how you set the sidebars for pages. As a method to add the sidebar for pages would be with Visual Composer and with Wigetsized element, like this: http://screencast.com/t/dXPluCP9xJy and you can try the code below:

@media (max-width:1018px){
.wpb_widgetised_column {
display:none;
}
.td-pb-span8 {
width: 100%;
}
}

The result you should see here: http://screencast.com/t/tYMlNthWcx

Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!

Hello,
Unfortunately the plugin is not tested and we have no idea of it’s functionality. Please try to add a table from html in text mode. There are many html table creators online that allow you to create your tables easier than coding them: http://www.tablesgenerator.com/html_tables
you can also try to disable all plugins except visual composer and tablepress to rule out plugin conflicts.
Or alternatively you can find another plugin that will not cause the layout to break.
Sorry but i cannot provide any further insight as we cannot offer support for plugin implementation.
Thank you for your understanding.

Hello,
Please provide more details to what feature you want the title changed. The blocks can be named from block settings, the sidebar if it is created in visual composer can be changed from there as well or if it’s created in the widgets area you need to edit the names there: http://screencast.com/t/LcsYfxNWjBPz
If the footer section is the one you cannot change, then you will need to use an empty footer style as the demo content from footer style 1 and 2 cannot be edited. You can then add your own elements to the footer using the 3 footer widgets in the widgets area: https://forum.tagdiv.com/footer-templates/
Thank you!

Hi @DaneOLeary

Try to deactivate all plugins, leave just Visual Composer and Jetpack plugin with Subscriptions module active, clear all caches and check if the problem is still there. If the problem persist try to use a different plugin from subscriptions, for example mailchimp: https://wordpress.org/plugins/mailchimp-for-wp/

Thanks!

Hello rodrigocarlos,

I suppose that you are referring to Visual Composer. This plugin you can use for Pages, Posts and Custom Posts but with mention that the Visual Composer is not tested for posts with our theme. Also, you cannot use this plugin for the category page. In this screenshot, you should see how you can activate the VC for Posts -> http://screencast.com/t/WkXRflCV
In order to display your Big Grid, please ensure that you have right selected this feature with available posts, otherwise, it will display nothing. -> http://screencast.com/t/bKEEPrhuWqAN

If is not what you mean, please provide more details so I can be able to provide a more accurate response.

Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!

Hello,

I set the kite one font for the post content and it works as expected. I could not recreate your issue: http://screencast.com/t/F1Wq0kZ8scwq
For pages the fonts work a bit different. You have to change the font for the modules and blocks: http://screencast.com/t/X5gLmbvg If you add text with visual composer elements (text block) these will not be affected by the theme panel. Add your text in classic mode so it can be controlled from the fonts section

I tested the bold issue as well but it seems to display fine on my end: http://screencast.com/t/vCt2x9hgA
Please make sure you do not use any plugins that might come in conflict with the theme. Disbale all of them and just leave visual composer and check again to see if the errors are still there.

Please provide more details about the toolbar toggle so we can understand better what you mean.

Thank you!

So I figured out what that error was. It’s the “Subscriptions” module of the Jetpack plugin. Here’s the thing: I really, really, really want to keep the “Subscriptions” module active. Even if I use nothing else in Jetpack — and I really don’t need any other modules — I want to keep the “Subscriptions” module because it’s been the only way that I can include a way for visitors to subscribe to my site on the main page. If I use anything else, it won’t consolidate my subscribers and allow my to use that single module/widget for all subscription boxes. I haven’t yet found an option for this that’s easier and keeps subscribers all in one place that’s not some third-party service. I don’t want to use MailChimp or Constant Contact or any of those services; I just wanted to use what was built into my WordPress and keep my subscribers in one place so it would be more seamless.

Here’s what I did. I wanted to use the Jetpack shortcode for the subscribe form/box on the main page, which I used the Visual Composer to create. However, I struggled to do this because the Jetpack widgets weren’t available to me when I was using the Visual Composer for my main page, so I added a custom text/HTML block in the Visual Composer, and then typed in the Jetpack subscription shortcode in order to include that little subscription form on my main page. (My website is http://www.daneoleary.com if you want to see this for yourself.) I don’t really understand why using that Jetpack subscription shortcode on my main page that I created with Visual Composer is preventing Google Analytics from working correctly. The home page is the only place where I’ve even used it in that way and I noticed that the error I mentioned above doesn’t appear on any pages other than the home page.

Is there a way to work around this?

Hello,

You can select the Visual Editor to appear as an option for the posts. I did a test by creating a posts with the Visual Editor where I used a template ready Visual Editor, and this template has a Big Grid, but does not appear in the post, and still pops up the field without image in featured, do you put since it was to be the Big Grid or anything in place.
See the test page I created, http://proddigital.com.br/invest/teste/

How do I get this featured image field vanish?

Another question … is it possible to use the Visual Editor in the category, as it is used for pages, Posts and Custom Posts?
Ex.: mysite.com/category1, and this category 1 I would create a template with the Visual Editor.

Hello asymonds,

I’ve checked your website and I saw your problem and also, I saw that you have a lot of errors in your console, like this: http://screencast.com/t/Km1eiSq1h4k It seems to be a problem caused by plugins in conflict. Please try to disable all the active plugins, except Visual Composer, clear all your caches, purge your CDN files if you used and try it again. If you are using untested plugins on your theme the chances are high that they cause conflicts with your theme and is important this advice because you should rule out the conflict. If your problem is still there after this, please let us know.

Hope this helps!

Hi,

You can use visual composer on pages and use the adbox element: http://screencast.com/t/vf04vAmUqet which grabs an ad from the theme panel ad spots. You can read more about it here: https://forum.tagdiv.com/custom-ad-spots/

Thank you.

Hello Baltar,

Thank you for purchasing our theme. The front page uses some blocks to display the posts and you can control this from Visual Composer settings. If you want to change the title to these blocks, please follow this steps:

Hello,
The demo content has 2 places where the social counter is specified. One is the widgets area: http://screencast.com/t/vz8UqIF3x and the second is the page itself. The sidebar on pages is set from visual composer :http://screencast.com/t/ewkhobJCld
You need to change both of these in order to get rid of the default social id’s.
You can use this tutorial to set up the social counter: https://forum.tagdiv.com/tagdiv-social-counter-tutorial-2/
Thank you!
