Hi,
Unfortunately the social icons block is not available in version 6 of the theme(social icons can be activated only for top-bar and footer) and it is not an easy task to implement this block so I suggest to hire someone to do this for you as we cannot provide custom work at this time, sorry!
A solution is to use Visual Composer button element, something like this – http://screencast.com/t/JXSXnblmLA – http://screencast.com/t/6CZfhXMU or you can try to find a plugin.
Thanks!

Hi,
Please disable all your plugins except of Visual Composer, clear cache and check if you still have this issue as it may be caused by a plugin. Also try this without any js/css minification.
Thanks!
Hi,
on http://www.sverigetips.se/ I use footer template #12. However, I am not sure how I can put my content there. Ideally, I would like to use one of your content blocks. For that purpose I have copied over the code from a page drafted with Visual Composer that contains a content block. However, I couldn’t make it work in the footer. Perhaps the CSS for the footer overrides the CSS for the block. Just now I use shortcodes for a solution with six columns but the result looks boring. I would rather use your content block 15 here in the footer.
Could I make content blocks work in the footer? Or do you have any other suggestions for using template #12 with content arranged in a grid?
Thanks.
Walther
Hi,
I want to update my theme from 4.6.3 to the latest version. After updating Newspaper directory via FTP I got white page and this in error.log:
[Fri Aug 21 08:55:58 2015] [error] [client IP] FastCGI: server “/var/www/php-fpm/user/domain.com/fpm.external” stderr: PHP message: PHP Fatal error: Class ‘td_block_widget’ not found in /var/customers/webs/user/domain.com/wp-content/themes/Newspaper/includes/widgets/td_page_builder_widgets.php on line 3
Any idea why? Visual Composer was updatet also to latest version before updating theme.
Hi,
Please make sure that you test this also without any plugin active except of Visual Composer, clear cache and see if you still have this issue as it may be caused by a plugin.
Also you can use this custom css in Theme Panel > Custom Css – http://screencast.com/t/iDRlblCnDJx0
.post header h1 {
color: #cc3d00 !important;
}
Thanks!
Hi
We didn’t tested the Visual Composer Ultimate Addons plugin with the theme so I can not provide an accurate answer in this regard. However you can test it and use it if it works.
Thanks for the message!
I am struggling with a persistent error with Newsmag theme and Visual Composer. I am using Visual Composer 4.6.2 and Newsmag 2.1.1 with a child theme. When adding almost any module to the row when attempting to save the settings of the module a JS error occurs.

Hello,
I was using another theme at my website and recently switched to newspaper 6 and found out that WYSIWYG editor doesn’t show up when I hit the tab. On the other side, I can use Visual Composer and it is working ok.
Moreover, when I switch to previous theme or any other theme (like default Twenty Fifteen) the WYSIWYG editor shows up okay and can be used.
A couple of screenshots:
Simple text editor with Newspaper6 activated – http://upics.ru/images/2015/08/20/texta2dd9.jpg
WYSIWYG editor with Newspaper6 activated – http://upics.ru/images/2015/08/20/wysiwyg_nope528ed.jpg (doesn’t show up)
WYSIWYG editor with another theme activated – http://upics.ru/images/2015/08/20/any_other_theme_okay00327.jpg (works ok)
P.S. Important: I don’t yet have any caching plugins installed and apache doesn’t have pagespeed module enabled.
Hi,
I could not recreate your issue, please check this without any plugins active(maybe a plugin cause this) except of Visual Composer, clear cache and see if you still have this issue. You header is always sticke and it should not be like that. On my side with header 7 enabled(and without top-menu) it looks like this – http://screencast.com/t/c1XfknUPl and when you scroll down the sticky menu is activated – http://screencast.com/t/9CbWjJxZzc
Thanks!
Hi
I’ve checked your site and found some errors in browser console: http://screencast.com/t/nhGR7eeU4gR They can be caused by some plugins that conflicts with the theme’s js, so you can try by deactivating all, leave just Visual Composer active, clear all caches and test again.
Please go trough the adsense troubleshooter pasted below and contact your ad provider if you still can’t manage to make them work: https://support.google.com/adsense/answer/1208336?hl=en
Let me know how it goes and if the problem persist please send an email at contact@tagdiv.com with your site login details and we will inspect this issue, also include a link to this topic.
Thanks!
Hi,
I have tried this on my side and I could recreate your issue. It is related to the Visual Composer element(carousel) and the theme lazy load effect. I have added this on our issue list and we will try to fix it as soon as possible. Until then please disable lazy load animation from Theme Panel – http://screencast.com/t/OGsVW2OuCanu
Thanks and sorry for inconvenience!
Hi,
I’m not sure why you have this issue and yes, it may be caused by a plugin that you use. Please provide a link and more details about this. Also you can check this without any plugins active except of Visual Composer, clear cache and see if you still have this issue.
Thanks!
Hi,
Here you can find the code for “Popular Category” block(this is wordpress widget) – http://screencast.com/t/hfP7Urx0 I see that you use W3Total Cache please make sure that you have only page cache active like we recommend, also after you clear the cache disable the cache plugin(and all others except of Visual Composer).
Thanks!
Hi,
Sorry for delay! We answer to the most oldest topics so if you add a new reply we get later to your topic.
1. We removed the quotes shortcodes, we use html with classes now. The quotes are not updated by the script, sorry. We tried to add them but on some cases there was a chance for errors to appear an we decided to not include them in the script.
Try to add the following code at the end of the functions.php file – http://screencast.com/t/OWxqEsYVK – http://pastebin.com/NZEJsWQZ
2. There is an option to change the blockquote color in Theme Panel > Theme Colors – http://screencast.com/t/GaVyoCu2xcU
3. You can change the hover color using custom css in Theme Panel > Custom Css – http://screencast.com/t/1BPyH3KM
.td-trending-now-wrapper:hover .td-trending-now-title {
background-color: red;
}
4. You can change the general color for post content links using custom css in Theme Panel > Custom Css – http://screencast.com/t/26hujdCrvc
.td-post-content a {
color: red;
}
Also you can add manually a color to your link(s) just edit the post select the link and add the color – http://screencast.com/t/3nfN9nIS0R
5. If you refer to the panel options for page content – http://screencast.com/t/T1GXLsNq1 please note that these options will not affect any page template created using pagebuilder(Visual Composer). Please provide a link and more details about what you are trying to do.
6. Do you refer to the lazy load effect? you can remove it from Theme Panel > Template Settings – http://screencast.com/t/dg4jDDqg7oI
Thanks!
Hi,
Please try to update the Visual Composer plugin I see that you use an old version. The latest version of the plugin provide with the theme files is 4.6.2 please check this guide to update – https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-visual-composer-plugin/
Then check your site again on Safari and see if you still have this issue(check this like I said above without any plugins active, just VC) also clear cache.
I have checked your site on Safari and you have this issue with the menu item, but I could not find exactly the cause, I suspect that it is a plugin as this is not happening on our demo – http://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/ If you still have this issue please send an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide wp-access so we can take a look, also paste a link to this topic so we can know who you are and what your issue is.
Thanks!
Hello I have a really weird issue I am setting up a page for products and each product has a list of instructions, so i am puting as superior page the product page. The thing is that whenever i put a superior page the content just stop showing and its like my homepage, I use the visual composer to construct the page so i really have no idea what is happening, let me put an example of this
This is the page without the superior page:
http://www.tierrapermanente.com/TP/macetina-2/
This is the page with the superior page:
http://www.tierrapermanente.com/TP/producto/paredin/
The only change i did was pointed “Producto” as the supperior page. Please help
Sorry for not thank you for fixing the other problems i did not know how to use the forum
Hi
We didn’t test the Acronix plugin with the theme so i can’t give an exact answer on that. I noticed some errors in browser’s console which may cause this so you may also try this without any plugins active, leave just the Visual Composer plugin, clear all caches and test again.
If it still doesn’t work you can use Visual Composer’s tabs elements and place the same content as you have now in your tabs to VC tabs: http://screencast.com/t/SlThg9FjPEr4
Thanks for the message!
Hi,
The lazy load feature uses js, i suspect the issue may be caused by a plugin, try to disable cdn/cache, disable all plugins except for Visual Composer, enable lazy load and see if the issue is still there. If it’s gone enable the rest of the plugins one by one until you find the one which causes this.
Thank you!
Hi,
Please try to update also the Visual Composer plugin as I see that you use an old version of the plugin. The latest version provided with the theme’s files is 4.6.2 – http://screencast.com/t/H6atbu5l Check this guide to update – https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-visual-composer-plugin/
Thanks!
Hi,
You can check this without any plugins active, leave just Visual Composer active, clear cache and see if you still have this issue. If it is fixed please activate your plugins one by one and see which one caused this.
Also provide a link so we can inspect this.
Thanks!
Hi,
If it worked only with Visual Composer active, I guess that a plugin that you use, conflicts with the theme and breaks the tagdiv gallery. You will have to find out which one it is, activating your plugins one by one. Maybe it is a gallery plugin if you use one?
Thanks!
Hi Cris I really thank you ;). The easiest way is to use copy-paste :).
This was my first encounter with functions.php. Thanks for the helpful tips.
To protect the site I uses Wordfence. Do you have any advice.
My main problem is the slow background. I welcome any suggestion.

Note that some of the stuff in my functions.php list may not apply to you, for example if not using YOAST SEO plugin, you’d not need the code there. If you’re using Visual Composer for anything other than home page, you would likely not use the visual composer stuff at bottom.
Basic issues with editing functions.php are
a) edit with a true text editor, like textpad, BBEdit, or other programmer tool, *NOT* a word processor; and make sure if using Unix, you save with unix line breaks; with Windows server, you may need to save with Windows line breaks
b) make sure you don’t break end of the file — meaning, some functions.php files have a closing ?> bracket, some don’t — obviously you should put code INSIDE the closing php bracket if there is one, but *NOT* inside another query bracket — so good to make sure you’re putting it in the right place at the end of the file, but not outside a closing bracket for the file, but not inside closing bracket for another function.
c) make sure you don’t have a “service” which is trying to do the exact same things, through a dynamic re-write — meaning, if you have some kind of aggressive service re-writing your pages to remove the version numbers on end of files, my list might conflict.
My lineup of optimizations work perfectly with mod_pagespeed (e.g., comment removal and indent removal, etc.), Apache/Linux servers, current version of WP, tagdiv booster framework, YOAST SEO, and mod_SPDY.
Like anything — always keep backup, and revert back if any change to ANYTHING you do does not work as expected.
And use common sense — if you have “allow pingbacks” turned *on* in your WP admin panel — you shouldn’t use my function to turn that off on the backend 🙂
I did exactly as you suggested and the plug in is still NOT showing in the Visual Editor options.
The plug in IS showing in the Widget page.
This is the plug in, which by the way looks great on the site and is far easier to use to directionaly point visitors to Subscribe to the site’s email feed.
https://wordpress.org/plugins/feedburner-form/
Please advise why this wont show up like the other plug ins. thanks
Chris Thank you for your contribution to the community.
I followed the instructions and reached grade 99/100.
When I withdrew the contents of functions.php I collapsed vps server. :(.
What is the procedure when you work with functions.php?
I noticed that the laoding time grew from 2.2 sec to 2.4 sec.
Does anyone have useful advice for mobile devices out there but I have 50. I use WP-rocket.
i put this in end of my file ( i use newspaper 6.3.2 ):
