About the pagination, if you want a pagination you need to use the template with pagination like this one: http://screencast.com/t/SxPaTThgU each template have a diagram to see how the template work.
The problem with the visual composer could be from incompatibility or something, on pages a have this message:
The qTranslate Editor has disabled itself because it hasn’t been tested with your WordPress version yet. This is done to prevent WordPress from malfunctioning. You can reenable it by clicking here (may cause data loss! Use at own risk!). To remove this message permanently, please update qTranslate to the corresponding version.
Is qTranslate compatible with latest WP version? or could be in conflict with page builder.

+ visual composer also works in an unpredictable way on our bilingual blog – when I hit “Update” after building a page, blocks and rows are copied (which I would understand, because there are two languages), but also there are being added empty rows, multiple times… is this problem of theme or WP Bakery plugin? Or even qTranslate?
We are normally the first to praise TagDiv, however on this occasion we are extremely annoyed with the update of Newspaper, We have never had issues in the past.
The latest update of Newspaper is appalling and has completely destroyed all of my pages I had.
Sliders are now not fitting on the page correctly, all of my news content is in a list now rather than in the areas where they were located.
I have even installed the demo, which has installed exactly the same. nothing works how it used to or how it should.
this JS Composure installs but does nothing?
Why have you released such a major updated that fully effects the ability to use short codes and display content in a way that it did before my website is completely destroyed and we will now be moving away from TagDiv.
Nothing works as it should.
We have used the change log to install the update via FTP, and manually installed visual composure, We have completely removed and installed this from our server and re-installed which further failed.
We have even re-installed the pre-built in demo mode to test update worked which failed.
we have been trying to fix this issue for over 48 hours.
All of these have failed.

We’ve just installed v3 of Newspaper and were hoping to make use of the tabs feature in the Visual Composer. They line up correctly in the composer, but show up as such on the front-end. We could really use some help getting this worked out.

I may be missing something, because I can’t make Visual Composer to work.
This is what I have done:
- Updated WP to 3.9.1,
- Then Updated The Newspaper Theme to 3.8.1
- Then deactivate and uninstall the Visual Composer, and replace it with the one included in the ZIP file. Installed and active.
- Checked if the WPbakery folder was still in the Server – nothing – only the new one.
When I start a new page or modify an existing one… I never get the Visual Composer button.
Am I missing something obvious?
I can’t get my site back to normal,and i check in my theme folder i don’t have any folder by that name..right now my site down because the files for VC is not taking a effect…
/public_html/wp-content/plugins/js_composer
go to the folder above take the plugin files you get from the
js_composer.zip in the download from themeforest and overwrite the files on your hosting server. You may need to unzip them and put them in a folder first.
You do this with you ftp client. I use filezilla. It is free just google it.

We are providing full support for the theme and we are trying to provide the latest version of the pagebuilder plugin.
We just switched to the a newer version of visual composer (when wp 3.9 came out) and from now on we can provide a newer version of the plugin easily. Before it was not possible because we used a custom built visual composer.
I will set up a system here so we can push the latest version of visual composer faster… sorry for the delay but it’s something new to us and I forgot to monitor that plugin 😐 .

Use common sense: I’m not saying go someplace else if you don’t understand how the plugins and licensing and bundling work, I’m saying if you’re unhappy with the great support here, including from many other folk who chip in ideas and personal experiences, then yes, please leave vs complaining “not much support around here.”
But let me explain to you how the plugins, licensing and such work, since you may be new to this; I’ve been using WordPress since Jan 2006, and have run across this issue many many times:
1) you get a licensed version of the plugin, which used to be “embedded” into the code so you wouldn’t need to deal with licensing or anything as it was a licensed product by theme developer. And yes, sometimes there was a “stuck” note in WP upgrade saying “one upgrade available.”
2) NOW with last theme upgrades, you get a separate copy, *tested compatible with theme*, but as a stand alone plugin to minimize issues with WordPress updates which broke the plugin last time (WP 3.9) – not the theme dev fault in any way.
The version is included as tested for the theme, and is updated when the theme is updated not when the plugin is updated.
They have updated the plugin code for Visual Composer many many times since October last year if you look at the change log ?
3) the notice about a “new version” is managed by WordPress – not the theme. This doesn’t mean the new version works with the theme, and it’s not the bundled version — meaning a new version of the *commercial version* – NOT included with theme – is available.
4) So, you may see note to upgrade to new version of a plugin, which is not the latest version BUNDLED with the theme. You may be able to install a new version IF YOU HAVE A SEPARATE LICENSE, but there’s no guarantee it will work with the theme, and then putting in support tickets about it won’t yet be relevant to THIS THEME.
Please don’t bash the folks here for “not much support around here” as they try very hard to give folks support, especially when about 50% of the issues are the user, plugins, server mis-config, etc. — just ONE support incident to fix somebody’s server setup is worth the cost of this theme. JUst sayin. You’re welcome to say what you want, as am I.
Most complex theme developers use some kind of “framework” or have now chosen to use Visual Composer as it’s less time consuming, and many devs are now familiar with it cross platform.
And yes, unless you built you own theme, there is no guarantee any theme or plugin will remain compatible with future versions of WordPress, like 4.0.
Seemed like you folks were complaining about something which is self evident for experienced users of WordPress, then bashing lack of support here. Two staff members do wonderful work trying to support so many issues with the theme, when many of them are custom programming not included with theme, solving wordpress/server problems. They tend to prioritize real issues, and not these kinds of non-issues which should already be well known for experienced WP users like yourself.

Simply use the latest “tested” version included with the theme. The commercial version is separate product and you would need your own license, and it’s not tested to work with the theme; the version included with theme is tested to work with the theme and is included in cost of the theme.
@Steven – lots of great support here, way more is given to the average user than the paltry fee charged for the theme. Don’t like it, go someplace else please.

To update to current version, simply remove the plugin (old) from your pre 3.7 version; then in the folder from Themeforest
Newspaper-tf/Newspaper/includes/plugins/js_composer.zip
decompress the zip file, and upload to your website/wp-content/plugins/ folder. This will give you version 22.04.2014 – ver 4.1.2

I’m still waiting as well how to update mine,there is not much support around here and we are pay users for this theme,it’s not like we get the theme for FREE are something.

I have set up my site on my local server and had everything working perfectly. I then migrated several times with different methods but each time I have the same broken theme which is currently live: http://coconutoilpost.com
I have gone back to my development site and deactivated all the plugins which then broke mainly the home page. I then worked through and found the issue with your integration with WPBakery Visual Composer, all other plugins work on the development site. The issue was the same with wp 3.9 and with 3.9.1 – Theme version 3.8 – Media Bakery 4.1.2
The issues are:
1. When logged in the front page admin bar not showing
2. Drop down mega menu not working
3. Search bar not working
4. Bottom page related articles pop up not working.
5. Back forward navigation not working.
6. Category Background images not working.

Also, btw; if you want to keep subtitles as part of the post, vs in a data field, you can simply use <h2>My Subtitle Here</h2> in html/text not visual editing mode on post page, at top of your actual post, where the sub-head would typically go below the photo.
I just recently updated the plugin. I now noticed that there is a list of plugins that you recommend installing. Is this the Newspaper theme recommending it or the WordPress platform? They are:
Animated GIF Resize – I don’t use this and the .gif still animates at the featured image. Is that what it is mainly used for?
Contact Form 7 – I don’t need this but its a common one to install.
Jetpack – This supposedly is a great plugin but heard it slows a lot down. The only reason I would see using this is statistics and the photon feature. Thoughts?
Revolution Slider – I still have your slide in place. What more would this do?
tagDiv Social Counter – I use the WP Socializer plugin. I assume this does the same thing though?
WpBaker Visual Composer – (Activated) Is this the Theme Panel now?
tagDiv Speed Booster – (Activated) Self explanatory I imagine.

In the post page, under the comments, (maybe I should use the file comments.php or single.php) I want to add module 9 with infinite scroll with php code .(Like daily mail posts.)
I cant do this with visual composer.is it possible to wotk with shortcode?? Like [module 9 short code here] .
Any solution?

Guess I assumed the update was installed as before (and missed any extra details??).
Now installed and some pages where I have used Visual Composer are missing showing the image boxes. I did try deleting the images and remade those image boxes in the pages but it still leaves a blank space. Am I missing something else?

I’m still trying to get to the bottom of it.
I updated Newspaper to 3.7 and WP to 3.9 and activated the extension and had the problem.
My next step was uninstall it and revert back to the old versions of Newspaper and WP.
It appears that the AJAX problem doesn’t return until all three are activated.
Originally it stopped any of the “Load more” elements on the blocks from working.
I’ve now managed to get some of them working but not all.
If you look on my staging site you’ll see the main slider still isn’t working. And none of the actual features of the extension itself.

Its a shame because that extension would be a really good addition to the them if i could get it working! I’m going to drop the plugin authors a line too but I can’t replicate this problem on other themes.

while reading the instructions to upgrade to version 3.7, it says that I need to activate the parent theme in order to install Visual Composer (now as separate plugin).
In my case, I installed the plugin while using the child theme, I just uploaded the plugin zip file and installed/activated it. And it works fine.
Is there a problem doing it that way? Or is it mandatory to install the way you indicate on the instructions? New future version of VC will be supplied by you?
BTW, I would suggest that any new upcoming version special instructions would be published on the main Newspaper forum as sticky post, because, it’s kinda hiddend on another forum category “Updates info” that maybe the major of the users didn’t read and found that after upgrading there where problems and “bugs”.

I’ve purchased that extension and used it successfully on other sites but unfortunately haven’t been able to get it to work on Newspaper just yet.
The extension won’t work unless you have an up to date version of the Visual Composer plugin which you can get in the latest version of Newspaper 3.7.
However I’ve been experiencing issues with this. All the AJAX functionality seems to be affected when I activate the ‘ultimate addons’ extension. I can’t find out what the issue is currently but will let you know if I do!
