There is no problem. You can import them normally in the pages section because, normally, only the page templates are imported. However, one template can be used only for a page because there is no option to use a page template globally.

Using the import/export option from the theme will allow you to import only the theme panel settings, the cloud templates go in tool > export – https://i.imgur.com/3Wxk885.png then to import you need to go in tool > import, then install the wordpress importer and click on run import – https://i.imgur.com/tyxoVvg.png

There are differences between templates. A CPT is like a post; then, you need to add content using an editor like Gutenberg. So, you can not use the category template for a CPT, only for taxonomies, but you need to import it to the cpts/taxonomies section of the cloud template.
