This has been the case with FB for the past couple of years; nothing new.
They are also beta testing gallery pull — where if there are multiple images on post, they can now grab all of them, or you can select certain ones, or only one.
Then sometimes they have issue grabbing anything at all.
I just had this issue. Luckily they made a solution; you can try the “refresh attachment” option from the actual post on your timeline on FB.
You can likely put an .htaccess file in there and redirect any queries for /themes/newsmag/index.php in that folder to yoursite.000 (home page).
You can’t make the directory totally inaccessible or theme won’t work.
If you’re already savvy enough to move it outside of the /wp-content/ folder, you should be able to setup an .htaccess file for that.
Lots of great articles online via Google search on how to improve WordPress site speed; worth a look.
Usually resaving permalinks, making sure post name has no spaces in the slug, avoid naming a post the same thing as a page or category (e.g., if you have category “holiday treats” you can’t have post named “holiday treats” usually). Clear any caching or CDN if you recently changed themes.
You can create a form for that. Or, you can use one of the various plugins out there. Some even allow you to move a suggested post to a live post.
Permalinks are handled by WordPress, and nothing to do with the theme.
You can use custom rewrite rules or use a plugin. Theme cannot control the permalink structure.
Works for me on our site.
You might
a) try disabling any conflicting plugin settings like “mobile support” in Jetpack
b) check your page with console (e.g., F12 in chrome) for errors
c) make sure you clear all caching on both the website if used, and in browser(s)
No, it means that the theme you were using might have had a plugin for embedding Facebook videos, or you had some way of pasting them in there.
It may also be due to the ERRORS your pages are generating which you should fix first.
Try disabling all plugins except for Visual Composer; then look at your post where you have a FB video and make sure you are embedding it properly however you are doing that.
I don’t work here – just some quick advice based on looking at it for you π
I think you need a plugin for Facebook video embeds. WordPress does not natively support FB video embeds, unless I’m missing something.
See
http://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-tutorials/how-to-embed-a-facebook-video-in-wordpress/
you also have numerous errors on your page (hit “F12” in Chrome to see):

Right … that says a lot. It means the Jetpack server cannot access YOUR server so can’t connect; just what it says.
You might check to see if you have some kind of blocking redirect or something for your site; or as it says check with your host to make sure they didn’t block WordPress.com accidentally.
I blocked Google once accidentally .. that was fun π
Might seem obvious, but be sure to “activate” the plugin from the plugins panel.
Sorry if that was dumb suggestion, but you’d be surprised how many folks forget that! π
Perhaps
a) try updating theme via FTP vs through panel
b) install new clean copy of JetPack after fully deleting current JetPack folder
c) make sure site works before activating JetPack again
Not sure that helps, but that’s how I’d proceed.
Also note the 6.6.1 update only updated a single plugin, not whole theme, so if already at 6.6., be sure to check the changelog in the Newspaper-tf folder before doing updates.

A lot of things use jquery in theme.
You could make backup and delete links and see if what you’re using still works or not.
I guess they REALLY should add that info to the “how to update theme” docs here ! π
Why yes, yes I am. You’re most welcome π
At least now you know where to look.
You can upload via FTP; create a directory like /assets/ in your root directory.
Put files in there. Might be able to do this via your hosting filemanager panel if you don’t want to do FTP.
Then simply create a normal anchor link with HTML. Lots of tutorials online on how to learn basic HTML.
SO, for example:
<a href="http://yoursite.vvv/assets/name-of-file.pdf">Download my Fancy PDF</a>

Generally you should not post license codes or receipt numbers here, as everybody can see them.
I think they will be announcing some kind of “how support will work” once the initial 6 month thing runs out that Envato/ThemeForest enacted recently.
I have the same question.
My thought with my multiple licenses, was pay for additional support for *one* item, which gives me the downloads for the other ones that expire. π
There are also some really good articles out there on speeding up your website using Nginx + Varnish for “optimizing WordPress for speed” … don’t have links handy. I looked at that in depth Jan. 2014, ended up sticking with Apache for our little corner of the universe. π
The social plugin changed.
You can download the files from ThemeForest — the “changelog” is included inside the download folder “Newspaper-tf” π
Caching is controlled by any cache plugin you may/may not be using; if you’re using caching built-in to your hosting plan/service. Also caching is found in your web browser, where you can clear your history/cached files (see your help info for web browser you happen to be using).
hmmm… kind of kewl …
testing this on our production site (yeah, I know, crazy?) ….
basically after install, and then flushing permalink cache, we get a new schema added which appends /amp/ to end of all post URLs, giving us an optimized “instant mobile friendly page” …
seems to work:
e.g.,
This is a couple of versions back of Newsmag, not ‘fully’ optimized per my own guide on the forum (ahem), and running mod_pagespeed.
As you know “all of a sudden” implies:
a) theme or plugin update
b) server core system update
c) change with CDN / caching system
Likely helpful to know what happened.
Often resetting the expiration time for elements at CDN can help; double checking no bizarro thing changed in a theme that might impact the plugin, etc.
Also, funnily enough, sometimes in my case clearing the transients using wp-optimize helps, as does simply going to my home page and doing a “save” of my existing layout to fix something changed from an update.
Obviously if you did a THEME update, something might have changed with the theme itself and require modifications, especially if a child theme is no longer in sync with parent, etc.
Not sure any of that helped … I’m stuck here doing some admin today, where I can’t leave, but have a window open to pop in here and share some of my shaky wisdom, snarky comments, and general holiday eggnog overdosed commentary. π

I think the Facebook count now requires a FB API key from FB. YOu may need to update the social plugin to latest version as part of theme download.
Built in feature of WordPress … go to the WP admin panel, under settings, reading.
To learn to use WP admin screens, see official docs:
https://codex.wordpress.org/Administration_Screens
see info on the reading panel in your WP install:
https://codex.wordpress.org/Settings_Reading_Screen
note the “blog pages show at most ….” option
π Hope that helped!
You may want to peruse the docs there to see how all the built-in functions of WP work.
@debarup
simply dsiable the breadcrumbs feature in the theme to remove the breadcrumbs. Even if you remove the structured markup in the theme code, they will still be used by Google in SERPS in many cases as they have already built a breadcrumb element for your site. Some of our sites with breadcrumbs, but no “markup’ still show/showed up in SERPS with breadcrumbs, even without any modern markup.
Point being — only way to force Google to try not using breadcrumbs, is not to have breadcrumbs on your site. Try it. Then update your sitemaps. Then revisit your SERPS in a week and see if they change.
