Basic HTML … there is an HTML entity for a ‘non breaking space’ just like for a trademark, or similar non-alpha-numeric characters.

simply combine these three items into one word … I can’t actually write that here as it turns into an actual non breaking space due to the CODE element not quite working right here.

Also note theme doesn’t manage the Envato updater — so issue is with THAT, and not with theme.

All the updater is “supposed” to do is delete old theme folder, download new one from TF repo, then unzip into /themes/ folder, and shazam. If your system setup or the plugin times out — issue has zero to do with the theme itself which is being downloaded from TF by their plugin as zip file.

So, ‘nothing to fix’…. or ‘rectify…’

And often good to post support ticket to Envato with issues with their tech, as not part of theme. 🙂

Well, none of our sites have been hacked using the theme. So, obviously if the theme is secure, it means something in your site/server setup is not.

Yes, there is an oooold version of the theme which had a security issue, as did many themes; as did Visual Composer; as did WordPress core prior to 4.7; and that issue was fixed with very fast dot upgrade.

You need to review changelogs when new versions of any WordPress element is updated to ensure it’s been patched for any discovered security flaw.

Something like over 100,000 WordPress sites got hacked earlier this year for not updating WP core to new version with vulnerabilities patched. Also, old versions of PHP are no longer secure, either (e.g., 5.2 and 5.3 are end of life; 5.4 now end of life; 5.6 and up should be used).

Theme not getting hacked, YOUR site is getting hacked.

a) see my tutorial in the forum on hardening your site
b) scan site with Securi once a week
c) make sure WordPress updated since all versions prior to 4.7 are insecure
d) make sure you read the tutorial on WordPress.org on how to ‘harden’ your site for better security

Make sure you also delete and update all plugins included with Newspaper, not just the theme!

I would likely do the import using default 2016 theme first; then once you have import done; switch to the tagDiv theme. The simply do force refresh plugin for the images to render at sizes for theme.

What you’re trying to do is not theme related, so folks here can only provide advice.

TIPS:
for TD Composer, make sure you delete old TDC plugin folder, and upload NEW one — *not* overwrite/merge; after you do that, run the WP-Optimize plugin, AND resave permalinks, this clears all ‘transients’ — and one presumes anybody running a caching plugin is clearing that, disabling, it, etc., prior to any WP updates!

Use the DUPLICATOR plugin to carry over settings and change sitenames in dbase.

You should make backups of your old content prior to the move.

DUPLICATOR is best way to migrate content from one location to another, fyi.

Did you try removing a widget one at a time to see which one it might be ?

That old video from 2015 shows “Visual Composer” — not “TD Composer” — two different things. TDC was just introduced to provide a faster, more efficient with web server, optimized page builder for those who primarily use it for home page layout, grids on categories, and business page layouts.

VC and TDC are two entirely different things.

FTP always best way to update; and you must always DELETE the original theme folder, then upload new one; *NOT* over-write as you end up with old/new files mixed together — this is not how WordPress is designed to work. Same with plugins. All plugins when updated via the WP admin panel *delete* old folder then upload *new* one; not merge or over-write/mix them.

Featured images are set from wordpress functions, not theme functions. Normally when changing themes you dont need to reimport content since its in the database, and media manager, not the theme.

I dont work here, but sounds like some miscommunication going on there.

You need Open Graph (OG) data in the head area of your posts, in the meta data, for FB to grab the data; that’s where they get it from.

Using a plugin like Yoast SEO, etc., can accomplish that.

Bug with FB, depending on whether you’re in your business account, personal account, page account, etc. — funky. Running into that popup just clicking a LINK to a shared post, when I’ve just backed out of a page account. Sheesh.
