But: i want to say thank you for reviving Newspaper big time.

Newspaper 5 will be free for people who bought it – as it is general rule on Themeforest.
Release date is “1-2 months” since december :/

It doesnt really matter to me which image info it would show as long i can edit a copyright information in it. So caption for the featured image would be perfectly alright for me.
Until recently i used an older Newspaper version with a page template that did that job.

You know i got to love you guys because auf Newspaper and work you put into it over time..
But to be honest: i don’t see any step forward with this new theme and will stick to newspaper for the time being.
There is nothing in Newsmag which “wow”s me and as others noticed before: the narow design just feels wrong these days.

Good news for me is: Newspaper will still be updated with new features.
Maybe its a good move to do so if Newsmag should not be as mass comapatible as you hope for.

What does this new theme do to the newspaper development?
Will we just see slowed down feature updates or do you plan to only provide security/compatibility releases in the future?
(Maybe i should ask that after seeing the first weeks of Newsmag sales? 🙂

At the moment i got mashshare running. But im really not comfortable with the third party site involved. If this really gets thrown out and responsivity gets improved, i might be satisified with it.

Social Buzz plugin looks nice and i thought to myself: if newspaper people would consider it to be included, why buy it 😉

Would it make any sense to try to update to a version smaller than 4.0.2 in a first step?

Thats not so easy because it is a live site im updating on.
So its only possible to test it late in the night.
But if i try it the next time, i will do a screencast and post it here.

Ran into the same issue trying to upgrade from 3.8.4
All plugins where deactivated and caches emptied.
So it seems to be another issue.

Speed Booster didnt play well with my child-theme. Unfortunately.
It always displays the blueish original layout.
