Hello, I had no idea it would be so complicated to simply add VC elements to Pages and still have the title, breadcrumbs and sidebar. Seems like a mandatory thing…
1) Can you please tell me how to simply add VC elements to a Page and still have the sidebar, title and breadcrumbs? I need to add a VC YouTube playlist in the body of this page-

No matter what I try, add a css class like your screenshot, anything, I cannot get a simple YouTube video playlist to appear in the body of the Page below the text stretching the width of the main container, with sidebar and title, just like any other page. Please help, this should be very simple.
2) I have customized the Home Page template in order to have a full-width menu yet have the ad and logo where they are now… but the main body content wrapper of the page does not match the correct right/left margins/padding of the other pages. Can you see anything I can do to match the right/left margins? If you size it down to mobile the content is now flush and beyond the left of the screen, not centered down the middle with correct margins.

I am trying to change the capitalisation of the heading below the breadcrumb on the category pages. I would like to have them displayed in upper and lower case. However, it seems I cannot find the right item in the theme panel under the theme font settings.
As an example: On the page https://www.reiseblitz.com/category/europa/ instead of “EUROPA” I would like to display “Europa”.
Is there any way I can achieve that?

I have created a test page. Alone with the big grid in a single row.
This gives the same problem.

As I mentioned on my post on themeforest the big grid failed in the categories.

I applied a quick fix to the td_block_big_grid_1.php and as you may be able to see the big grid works just fine however this is not an optimal solution to the problem.
On the 48th line of that particular file I changed
if ($td_column_number==1 || $td_column_number==2) {
to
if (($td_column_number==1 || $td_column_number==2) && !is_category()) {

– on first two posts there is not title just picture displayed, and you must to click to see what is about
while on all other categories working good, example “food” looks like this http://imgur.com/a/ZT9EP and all other categories (fitness, beauty..)

There are options to change the font size for the post content, in Theme panel->Theme fonts like this
– https://www.screencast.com/t/6VVVxvZ6dFya and choose from any of the available font sizes and line height for the post elements that you want to change. If you would like to set a custom size that is not present as an option, this can only be achieved through custom code.
You could have different fonts for the elements you choose, based specific screen sizes by using a code like this for example – https://www.screencast.com/t/DASmJHfpb5

I’m working with a site for a magazine and I’m using Newspaper as the theme for the site.
They publish all the articles from their issues on the site, and we’re using a custom taxonomy to categorize the articles into the different issues. I’ve created a specific template to show the custom taxonomy (‘taxonomy.php’), which is a slight modification of the standard archive-template.
The main feed of articles on the site is sorted from the latest to the oldest (the latest article appears first on the site). My problem now is that I want to sort the articles on the issue-pages (that are using taxonomy.php) in reverse order compared to the main feed (from the oldest to the latest).
Can anybody help me with that?
My latest try is to point taxonomy.php to ‘loop-taxonomy.php’ (which is a copy of ‘loop.php’ where I try to sort the posts differently) instead of ‘loop.php’, but with no luck. The modification I’ve done to ‘loop-taxonomy.php’ is this:

The mega menu on newspaper is based on the same functionality as the one on newsmag. Only the style is different. If you could do this on newsmag, you will be able to do it on newspaper as well using the same method. Please provide an example of how you are creating the menu and what exactly does not work.
You can have both a mega menu and a normal menu with sub-menu items as there are no restrictions to onl;y use one or the other.

The license of this website isn’t activated yet (I’ve already bought it), I will activate this theme when the website is on the right domain. Or isn’t the license-system based on the activation on the right domain?

When your visit the homepage, the ‘home’ menu-item isn’t visible on the menu bar. When you visit another menu-item from the menu-item (for example ‘agenda’), home is gonna be back in the menu-bar and the ‘agenda’ menu-item is gone.
Do you guys has a solution for this problem?
The theme has a child theme right now, I’ve already changed the theme to the normal ‘newspaper’ theme, but this problem isn’t solved with those change.

Then in the same file you can find the social sharing bottom for the post if you want to modify it as well

You can remove the links pointing to these socials in that file for both the social sharing top and bottom.

The height of these blocks cannot be changed. They have a fixed layout that cannot be altered without customization. DO your blocks look any different than this example?

If so, it probably means you did not regenerate your thumbnails after switching themes. Please use the force regenerate plugin and regenerate the thumbs.

How do I reduce the margins on Posts for only the main body of text, while leaving images alone? I want to emulate the readability of Medium blog posts: see example below.

Notice how large the left and right margins are for the text, but images are unaffected. This allows for the text itself to be nice and large, and thus very readable on all resolutions.

I also noticed that when the width of the browser is reduced to about ~700-800 pixels on that Medium example, the font also reduces in size by just a smidge. Because I’ll be reducing the margins for the main body text of posts, I want to also increase the size of the font to make it more readable. But if I change it to a static size, say 18, I still want it to be responsive and reduce in size. If I successfully adjust the text margins mentioned above and increase size of body text, will I need to add a custom @media CSS code to make sure the font size is still responsively reduced or will it happen still? Because right now it doesn’t do that on a demo post on my website, so I doubt it will when I adjust the margins.

Hello! I’m having trouble customizing my header and logo. When I chose Style 3 or Style 1, for example, even the largest logo is compressed into a very small space, and there is a lot of surrounding white space. I would like to make the logo larger and have less white space. Also, the templates show that the logo and the menu will be left aligned, but the menu is indented, and the logo is indented from the top menu, so that none of them are aligned. Conversely, when I chose Style 7, my logo size isn’t compressed at all, so that I must upload a very small logo for it to be the appropriate size, but then the logo has poor resolution. Is there a way to remedy this? There is also an undesirable fade at the bottom of that style…is there a way to remove this?

I updated the theme on a staging site (https://stefaniephan.staging.wpengine.com). Settings in the theme panel are not showing up on the front end.
For example, I have set the main menu to be always sticky but on the front end it’s not showing up. Wpengine advised that certain fonts were not coming over https (I’m not sure what that means) and to contact the theme developer.
Also, at the bottom of the home page I get this error: Fatal error: Call to undefined method td_util::vc_set_column_number() in /nas/content/staging/stefaniephan/wp-content/themes/newspaper-child/parts/footer/td_footer_template_1.php on line 17

The thumbnails on my front page appear pretty low quality/pixelated, and I have a slight suspicion that it is because of the thumbnail settings. If I take an example of an image we uploaded that was 1024 × 734, when I inspect it in the grid on my front page, it is 543 x 462. I realize that it is because the theme is making it fit into the box, but will this not result in the pixelation that I am seeing?
I do not know if it could be any of our CSS, but I am pretty sure none if it would affect the quality of the image.
Hello, I updated my newspaper theme today only. Instead of updating to the latest version, visual composer is showing outdated.
Also, I want to install newspaper mobile theme plugin. I can’t find the install option in the plugin page.
Has the undermentioned issue taken cared off in the recent update released.
1) Trying to install Newspaper Default Demo ‘Only Settings & No Content’ however it installing demo with full content. Tried other demos as well however same thing is happening.
You can also test a post on your site with GTMetrix.com which will show you examples of HOW to fix things to optimize your site. My old old tutorial on the ‘best of tutorials’ section might be helpful too, but long read.
