Hi,

You could hide them with css, based on the category used. Like in this example – https://www.screencast.com/t/1cADiwjt7S where a display none property is set for the breadcrumbs – https://www.screencast.com/t/waXoxpJ87QOl and the footer – https://www.screencast.com/t/Int2TvUaxH As for the comment section, the default category pages do not have this, so maybe you should try removing it from your custom category file. If this is not what you meant please provide more details and a link to your site if possible.

The sharing debugger gives some warnings which need to be fixed, as the fb:app_id couldn’t be parsed in your pages.
For example;

In the tab “Based on the raw tags, we constructed the following Open Graph properties” the fb:app_id is empty. I would suggest to reorganize the meta tags and move all the og:url og:type og:title og:description fb:app_id og:image above the article meta tags. Once the sharing debugger is able to parse the fb:app_id with no issues, the future comments should work well.

Then just use the a tag for the hyperlinks in the code provided above. Add Module or Block to default post template - reply

Hello virgilio,

If you want to add a new module/block at your website, you should implement it yourself via API method, according to our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/practical-example-how-to-add-a-new-block-and-module/ (practical example) and the block was loaded as expected -> http://screencast.com/t/ALXRbDTs. Please notice that the API implementation is not part of our support and as you can see there, and I want to emphasize that this method addresses only to ADVANCED USERS. In our documentation, you can find some hints if you want to create a custom module/block and please notice that for achieving that is required to have a solid PHP/HTML/CSS knowledge to accomplish that. Please notice that this is a complex method and if you are not aware of the steps which you are needed to take in this regard, please consider hiring a freelancer/developer to help you because we cannot provide customization services at the moment, sorry!

Is there someway I can check that the theme updated correctly? After updating I ran the PHP compatibility checker and get incompatibility errors for visual composer and slider revolution. Here’s the notes for Visual Composer:

Hello, on the front page of the newspaper website, on all of the posts there is a zero in the black box next to the article (the front shows zero views)

but once you go to the article there is several hundred views. How can I get the black box on the front to synch with the views on the actual article. (for example there are 167 views)

Newspaper changes not working (very very annoyed) - topic

Hi,

Grateful for any help on this, I am using newspaper theme with latest WP hosted set-up via 1&1.

I make a change to my site in the theme panel and in order to see the change I have to log out of WP and log back in again. Now this procedure has stopped working meaning that some of my recent changes are simply not flowing through.

I have been making changes on my PC and attempting to see them on my ipad, massive issue, nothing happens. It was working when I signed out on my PC but now the changes are simply not flowing through at all.

This has been happening to me for a while, now. Anyone have any ideas what it could be as I am considering abandoning my investment in this theme to purchase a new one (different provider or course) as I have simply had it with frustration of making simple changes, not good enough frankly for the $70 I paid. poor in fact…….

Hi, I just got the updated theme, and I’m building a new site. I’ve built other sites with the theme, but I’m puzzled by a few new aspects and I can’t find how to do what I want in the documentation. Thank you.

First, I loaded the Travel Guide & Idea Demo, because I love the look of the image right below the header menu that has the block images superimposed onto it. But I’d like to replace the image that came with the theme with my image, and for the life of me I can’t find how to access it. (It’s probably very simple. 🙂 ).

Second, the homepage of the theme has dashed lines separating the blocks as you go down the page. I would like to either remove or alter those lines (so they have a different look), and again I can’t find how to access them.

How can I have full-width elements/posts? - topic

I have just bought Newsmag theme (installed on http://upliftingview.com/), and I am trying to have on the home page rows that are full-width and others that are centered-fixed width.

Here is an example of something similar: https://localpumpkin.deliverybizpro.com/home.php
There you will see some rows are fullwidth with or without background, then some rows are fixed(constrained, centered) and then full width again.

How can I accomplish something like this with this theme? What do I have to edit or set?
The width of the page seems to be 1021px…Is there any way I can have full width elements (say 1920px) then 1021px then 1920px .. etc.?

I have searched for a solution for a few hours, and tried different things but nothing worked.

Hi Catalin,
The eternal problem with the Speed Booster plugin is not how Google interprets/see the code, the problem is in the Speed Booster coding.

Please talk with your developer and look seriously a little closer to the problem because all that warnings are related with the Google fonts implemented in this plugin, “Speed Booster”.

Examples of rendering blocking and when appear:

  • since I bought your theme, I remove completely any Google font and never I receive that warning; if I use your default font or any other, yes I receive warnings about render blocking.
  • when featured image is disabled for posts
  • when blockquote is used in comments
  • when the post have too much comments (more than 200)

    I hope this information arrives to your developer.

    I’ve always used your theme without any other untested plugin (only Yoast Premium, Visual Composer &amp; Speed Booster), not even WP Super Cache.

    I have to say that removing the Google font, allways we had 99/100 score (both PC &amp; mobile) into PageSpeed Insights and the site charge in 0,4 sec.

    Maybe your developers will implement some default option to disable the Google fonts from the panel settings (I think we are many users that keep asking for this).

Hi,

First you have to move your ad code from the article bottom ad and insert it in a custom ad spot – https://www.screencast.com/t/8UFvuTxboHI Then you must edit the corresponding loop single file to the post template style you are using (post template style 2 – loop single 2), from the theme folder – https://www.screencast.com/t/sNN926Vt and insert the code provided below (you can change the custom ad number if it is currently in use elsewhere) in the post structure, like in the example after the post pagination. The result in my case is like this – https://www.screencast.com/t/aHRrFK18c1B the ad in now after the post pagination, and in your case should appear before the ad too reducing the distance between the post content and the pagination. This is the code used

Hello,

Can someone from the developers please answer my question. The featured image of a post still looks worse than a regular image in the same post. Example given above and after the advised steps have been taken, there has been no effect.

Hi Catalin,

I forgot to tell you that I use following code to centre the smart list slides.


.td-slide-smart-list-2{
text-align: center;
}

In you example, smart list images are in the default left position, hence it appears at the right position.

If it’s not possible to define the position of image caption, when images are centered, kindly give me thoe code to move ‘image caption’ in the bottom center.

Few months before, Bogdan has given a code to do so, but now that code isn’t working 🙁

Hi,

The theme does not enlarge the images to be of the required size used in a smart list for example, if that is what you are asking. Make sure that the images you are using in your smart list are of a minimum of this width size – https://www.screencast.com/t/RXX4nBmkHgLx I see that the pictures you are using in that smart list are not of this minimum size – https://www.screencast.com/t/vSpeW5p53 – https://www.screencast.com/t/kWACH62MDE Add the images in full size when creating your smart list – https://www.screencast.com/t/lp658GBHp so they will all be of the same width inside the smart list content – https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/smart-list-style-2/
