Did you change the URL in the code? If you just copy the code as it is, it will redirect to http://www.yourdomain.com.
You have to adapt the code to your own url. Add your homepage for example. Add the full url including the http part.

Unfortunately if you do not want the background to be set as the homepage post element, you will have to use another element to show the 1 post as the homepage post does not have any alternative background options. You can use another block that uses a big thumb an filter it to show just the 1 post you want it to. Any block can be limited to show a single post if you want to. For example, you can use blocks: 13, 18, 20, 22 or 23

If you want to have only a top image and the rest just titles, you can simply do that with css, no custom coding required. You can simply use one of the theme blocks that has this sort of functionality but with different images like block 1 on 2 columns for example:

You can hide the small thumbs with this code:

You can even target paricular blopcks so you will not affect all blocks 1 at the same time by adding a custom css class on the row in visual composer.

Unfortunately you cannot separate each post by category. Our theme has no such option. You can filter specific posts in a block from the filter settings or specific categories but you cannot make the block pull each post in particular from a particular category,. There is no such depth added to the post filters. Sorry.

I’m not sure exactly why it’s npot working on your end byt you need to use font awesome, not sprites. The sprites have been removed from our theme from a few updates back. Only font awesome can provide the icon properly.
there are 2 copy/paste operations you need to make and 1 plugin install.

1. Copy this code:

IMPORTANT NOTICE: there are 2 instances of the same code in that page. One is for the top sharing icons and one is for the bottom icons. 4. Clear all caching, and reset cdn files if you use it as cache needs to be cleared for changes to appear imediatly. Otherwise you will have to wait for the cache to be cleared and that depends on how you set it.

Please keep in mind that the Wp Super cache is fully tested with the theme and until now, seems to work as properly with our theme. Please ensure that you have disabled all the untested plugins from your side because all of these may interact with the theme and this plugin and cause a lot of unknown issues. If the problem persists, you should try to make a new clean install from scratch, only with tested plugins, clear all the caches and check the results.
