Hi
As the topic says. I’ve tried and tried to find a way to remove for example the “Lifestyle News”, “House Design” block from the front page.
Isn’t there a easy way to remove them without manually editing the frontpage?
Hello,
Page speed is a very personal thing and can depend on lots of variables starting from the host and all the way down to the plugins that you use. Plugins play a very big role in page speed. so please test it out with all plugins disabled excepot visual composer and wp super cache, clear cache and reset cdn files. Then test again and see if there is any plugin slowing you down.
Based on your pagespeed score you get pretty high scores. You get 87 points on desktop and our demo gets 89. The difference is very small between the 2.
The first load however takes quite a bit of time so unfortuantely there is little you can do from this side as the first load can only be adjusted from the server. Here is an example from drupal: https://www.drupal.org/node/526092
I hope this helps.
Thank you!
Hi,
I’m not sure I understand this correctly so I’m going to provide both solutions.
If you want ALL menu items to be the same color only a different one, it can be changed from the theme panel here: http://screencast.com/t/OHQU7aVpwv
If you want to have different colors for different menu items (you only have one at the moment) then you need to use css like for example , for your current menu item You will have to use this code:
.menu-item-741 a{
color:Red!important;
}
.menu-main-menu-container .sf-menu .menu-item-741 a:after{
background-color:red!important
}
Every menu item has it;s own class with a unique number to it. You can use this code for other menu items and just change the color and the number in the code to match the menu item class number.
I hope this helps
Thank you!
Yes, that is what i thought like i said, but again, does it mean if we have deleted our old themes after installing Newspaper 7 we are unable to retrieve all time count. For example, my old theme, (free version) don’t have count_views code and plus i also deleted it. I thought with activating Ajax Views Count, post views are retrieved from server, as it says in description: Enabling this feature will update the post view count using ajax on both pages and single post page. This feature is best used if you have a caching plugin active (yes i have from first day). On pages it will retrieve from the server the correct post view count. On single post page this feature will also increment the post view counter. Anyway, tnx for your support and help but i couldn’t make this work, i will just turn it off.
Thanks for your message!
Hello,
the Tumpnails in some Blogs have different formats ad example 324 x 235 (1:1,3)in Block 1,3,6 and so on.
I like to change that in 324 x 160 (1:2) like Blog 2,3,4 and so on.
How can I do that?
Greetings
Achim
Hi,
Few questions, can I use the recipe post types on any version? I currently have the healthy & fitness theme activated but would really like to include recipes on my site alongside general articles. can i do this?
Also, I want CATEGORY TOP POSTS GRID STYLE to be the same as the main theme which is grid style one. But it is not giving me this option. does this mean i need to install a different demo? If so, is this possible to do even though i already have the health & fitness one activated.
Regards,
Carrie
Hello pixelonline,
Please notice that when you customize your homepage in the backend, you can to chose the position of your desired block as you wish. For example, if you have a PERFORMANCE TRAINING block and you want that certain post to be displayed in this block, you will have to filter the block by a category which contains your post in order to achieve as you wish, like this -> http://screencast.com/t/IkvR9bP74C1B
For more information about this, you can try to read our documentation regarding on what can be used the Visual Composer in the correct way, like this -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-use-visual-composer/ Also, you can watch our video tutorial from our YouTube channel where is presented the important steps in order to create a homepage, like this -> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LC7iz-v-zIY
Hope this helps!
Thanks for your understanding!
Hi,
The css path of the images must be the absolute path. That means the full path to the iamge as you would add it inside the browser. Here is an example of an absolute path: http://mydomain.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/rec728.jpg
The theme has no such option to make all category headers a different color. You will need to use css to do that also. Every category has it;s own category Id. You can get the unique category id from here: http://screencast.com/t/yHEmSDoXk
Then you can use the id in css to target just a speciufic category with your code. FOr the blue one, the code will look like this:
.category-53 .td-category-header{
background-color:#11025f!important;
}
For the one you want red:
.category-42 .td-category-header{
background-color:red!important;
}
Remember do delete the previous color change code I provided in my previous replies as it neds to be replaced with these new per-category ones
Thank you!
Hello msampath18,
Please try to increase the memory_limit in your php.ini file: http://codex.wordpress.org/Editing_wp-config.php#Increasing_memory_allocated_to_PHP For more references in this regard, please check our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/
Also, make sure that you upload the newspaper.zip theme file, not the newspaper-ft.zip file.
Let us know how it goes.
Thanks
Hello,
I’m not able to save email id in footer info content in theme panel. Whenever I add my email id the field and hit save button. The loader appear and it refuse to go and content also not saved in the database. It’s happening with email field only. Rest field working fine.
In Chrome console, i’m getting this error Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 404 (Not Found) http://www.holidaypost.in/wp-admin/admin-ajax.php?td_theme_name=Newspaper&v=7.1.1
Hi
We don’t have a comparison table of features between Newsmag and Newspaper. Both themes share the same core so their functionality and performances are similar. The main differences are in designs/appearances and the content area width which slightly differs from one theme to another, Newspaper’s grid width is 1068px while Newsmag’s width is 1021px and the Newsmag’s theme grid has been designed to support the borders between sections of a page: http://screencast.com/t/pNkgzN1Kn8Y5
Other differences are also appear regarding features, some of the blocks are present on one and missing on the other, for example you could check the Features menu items from each theme live demo and see blocks, modules, post templates… are present in each theme and the design differences – http://screencast.com/t/p87JJpieJd
Also you can check the documentation for each theme, other features that may not be presented on the live demo(for example header templates) – https://forum.tagdiv.com/wordpress-information/ – https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-newsmag-documentation/
Thanks!
Hi there,
We’ve got an issue where Google fonts are being loaded over HTTP, I’m fairly sure that this is no longer allowed by Google and is now blocked, therefore fonts are no longer loaded.
Error message:
Font from origin ‘http://fonts.gstatic.com’ has been blocked from loading by Cross-Origin Resource Sharing policy: No ‘Access-Control-Allow-Origin’ header is present on the requested resource. Origin [host] is therefore not allowed access.
By changing line 3887 & 3891 of wp-content/themes/Newspaper/includes/td_config.php and hardcoding ‘HTTPS’ instead of Newspaper’s $td_http_or_https variable and hardcoding ‘HTTPS’ in line 297 of includes/wp_booster/td_wp_booster_functions.php it resolves this issue.
My suggestion: isn’t it best practice to load external fonts etc over https anyway? if so, is it possible that maybe those three lines are changes so that it forces https for google font loading?
If not: how do you think we make these changes upgrade safe? is there a possible way?
When I am publishing new post/page, how to ensure that which block it would be displayed. For example I want my post to be appeared in “PERFORMANCE TRAINING” blocks. How this can be done. Appreciate your response.
I am using the content given as part of default demo. “PERFORMANCE TRAINING” is also on of the demo block.
Secondly, how to control the display of my newly created block. I mean to say at which part of the homepage my new block would appear?
Thank you.

I noticed that you are strongly recommending Yoast.
While it gets really bad (and worsening) reviews from users, current average being 4.0 out of 5.0, but the latest ones is probably more like 2.5 out of 5.0. So why still such love and strong push both in your description, recommendation as tested and even in your support tickets?? Why wouldn’t you look into alternatives as well, because I almost trusted and went with your suggestion but still decided to go over reviews.
here are some examples:
“Bloated and way to many notifications. Has been my goto plugin for years but looking hard for alternatives. ”
With every recent update it just pushes itself more to the center and gets irritating to a point where the irritation trumps the usefulness. Used to be that you could choose to set and forget most options, now impossible as new and mostly unwanted features insinuate themselves everywhere.
Very sadly looking for alternatives at this point.
This used to be the best SEO plugin, hands down.
Now, even with the SO Hide SEO Bloat plugin installed (which makes her look a bit more attractive) she’s just not what she used to be.
I’ve decided to use Genesis’ built-in SEO options from now on. Simply can’t stand how this plugin went from perfect to a dud.
This latest update makes the plugin very confusing for newbies. I can no longer recommend it for that reason. I wish Yoast would just leave the plugin be. It doesn’t need all this change, nor the extra features.
Help! I installed 3.3 and my wordpress installation has become WORDPRESS BY YOAST!
so clean up wp seo plugin to the rescue..
OK I’ve finally snapped and gone back to All In One SEO.
So many pointless updates, all the pop-ups and notification spam.
These guys at Yoast has lost themselves along the road in recent months. Adding new stuff on something that was already complete, with “EXTRA” tools that not everybody want ( might be cool to some). But don’t you read the negative feedback you keep receiving since November 2015?
Why don’t you make a new plugin instead as integration?
I used to love this plugin, now it is on my list of “get rid of it asap”
Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 262144 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 49152 bytes) in /home/msampath18/public_html/almightychrist.com/wp-admin/index.php on line 103
why this
I’ve tried to add the Source Name and Source URL by importing straight from old site into my new site on MySQL Azure server. They did not appear on the posts. On investigation as to why I note that when manually adding the URL name and URL Url that it has the codes “s:3” or “s:7” before the Source Name, and “s:20” or “s:43″ before the URL. See below samples.

Is their a convention I need to follow to have the theme recognise my Source Names and URLs? i.e. certain names must have s:3 before them.?
Hi
We have noticed that Newspaper itself seems to ignore the canonical url of an article. We have articles that have up to three different url’s within the site. Normally WordPress redirects an article with a different url to the correct slug / canonical url, but in our case that doesn’t happen. The problem is that Google Analytics is also reporting views on three different url’s. Can you provide us with tips on how to fix this or a fix?
Example:
On the homepage of our site we have published an article. In the big grid this article links to https://indebuurt.nl/delft/nieuws/nieuw-in-delft/enorm-foodpark-verrijst-a4/ and it also opens the article on that url. However, when I hover over that same article on a sub category, the link points to https://indebuurt.nl/delft/ondernemersbijdragen/enorm-foodpark-verrijst-a4/. On another sub category page it links to https://indebuurt.nl/delft/winkelen/enorm-foodpark-verrijst-a4/. In both cases however it opens up https://indebuurt.nl/delft/nieuws/nieuw-in-delft/enorm-foodpark-verrijst-a4/ when clicked.
Another article however shows the same behaviour, but open in a second url. This causes this article to have to different url’s https://indebuurt.nl/delft/wonen/leuk-voor-de-heb-oude-station-delft-te-koop/ and https://indebuurt.nl/delft/nieuws/opmerkelijk/leuk-voor-de-heb-oude-station-delft-te-koop/ – without WordPress redirecting the articles to the desired slug / canonical.
Attached are several images to illustrate what I mean.

Hi Andrel,
Please see the image below. This is an example of what I am talking about. When I click on the Celebrities Tab on the Menu, it only shows 6 posts but truthfully, it supposed to show 11 posts in total (Please see footer menu below highlighted in yellow). The footer menu is showing that there is 11 posts for that category, but when I click on the Celebrities category it only shows 6. This goes for all other categories when I click on them.

Hi,
We have no reports of this at the moment and our theme does not change the links. Please disable all plugins except visual composer, clear cache and reset cdn files if you use it. Then check the links again. If the problem is still there, please provide a link to your site and an example of how you are adding images so we can investigate this further.
Thank you!
Hello, I’m Giuliano from GExperience.it. We bought your theme Newsmag, but we found some problems and errors. As you can see from the screenshots, sometimes happens that featured images creates this problem.

Furthermore, in some articles with video featured, YouTube’s window does not resized correctly. Sometimes “modal image” doesn’t works and often we have problems with mobile menu & search buttons.
These problems happens randomly and often resolves by refreshing the page many and many times.
I thank you in advance for yours answers.
Hi
To achieve that you have to edit the file corresponding with post template used and remove the code which generate the featured image. Here is an example for post template 1: http://screencast.com/t/XcXfXKbfQ5Zi
Thanks!
Hi Frank,
Unfortunately our theme does not have a switch to remove the markup. It will have to be removed from the theme files. Pleas provide more details to what markup you are referring to as I cannot see any double markup in the example you showed.
Thank you!
Hi,
If you want to add a text inside a specific post, you need to edit the template file coresponding to the post style used on that post and add a condition to check if the post has a specific ID to echo a text on that post. Here is an example. My post has an id of 5042 so I would use this code like so:
<div class="customtext"> <?php if (is_single(5042)){
echo "Advertisment";
}?>
</div>
http://screencast.com/t/jEWCIjOTgOsu
And then use this code to style the text with css:
.customtext{
display: table;
margin-left: auto;
margin-right: auto;
}
You can add the css in the thme panel->custom css box
result: http://screencast.com/t/vcJkbF50y2e
Thank you!
Hi,
Yes you can create a menu in a page and then display the page in the mega-menu. For example I want to create a custom menu and add it to a page. You can create a custom menu (or multiple ones) in the menus area and then use a wp custom menu element inside the page maybe on a 3 column layout like so: http://screencast.com/t/IJHwjvlRZUB or use standard text blocks with standard html and create your own style for the links. You can get creative in this part.
And then simply add the page id in the mega-menu option like the guide from my previous reply shows.
Thank you!
Hi
To add a new post type you can use our td-custom-post-type.zip plugin: https://forum.tagdiv.com/custom-post-type-support-newsmag/ Basically the theme uses the default implementation from WordPress regarding custom post types but using this plugin give you a practical example on this.
Note that you will need some coding skills in order to register a new post type and work with it.
Thanks!
