Unfortunately yes, even tough WP bakery is a tested plugin I personally wouldn’t recommend using it. Since tagDiv Composer was created as our own page builder the developers are working on developing this plugin.
The lines you see are shortcodes that are being rendered only by the tagDiv Composer which is also a MUST HAVE plugin in order to run Newspaper Theme correctly.
You can use wp bakery on a page / post where there are NO tagDiv composer elements.
In order to make the site full width you have to select every row of your page using the tagDiv Composer and then set the stretch mode you want like here : https://www.screencast.com/t/BkWwdHh6
In order to make the post page full width you will have to add a single post template and then edit it. These are the ways you can increase your page width from theme options. Anything above this will require custom code.
If you are using a background color / image this will cause the boxed layout.

How can I install WPBakery Page Builder. Is it included in Newspaper theme?
What I did was give characteristics to the rows in Tagdiv, check on the page where I created the div tag but in text editor mode, in html mode not in visual mode.
When I checked the code that I added for these characteristics I copied it.
Then I go to WP Bakery, I place the page that is already created with WP bakery backend in classic mode. Then in html mode, and to the row I add the codes that tagDiv threw me.
The ones I’ve got:
For full row (Remove padding and margin that is automatically placed with WPBakery in rows), within [vc_row] write the following [vc_row full_width = “stretch_row_content_no_space td-stretch-content”]
To align the elements below a row within [vc_row] add content_align_vertical = “content-vert-bottom”. In case you want a full width row with all the elements aligned below it would look like this: [vc_row full_width = “stretch_row_content_no_space td-stretch-content” content_align_vertical = “content-vert-bottom”]

What is the WPBakery plugin used for, as it was installed as part of the theme, so I’m not sure if its required or not?

Also the ads can be set in widget sidebar -> http://prntscr.com/q0job9 or in single post templates, in this case you’ll need to edit the single post templates with tagDiv Composer .

If you want to edit the layout of the demos and aesthetics you will need to use the tagDiv Composer. If the content was created using WP Bakery you should be able to edit it with wp bakery.

@Vlad – please read. I dont have any TD Composer elements. I did only Update from Newspaper 6/7 to 9.8. Now i cant use WPBakery anymore?? 🙁

This is resolved – WP Bakery Plugin clash.
My other website mitjagtblad.dk used to be only WpBakery as editor (running Newspaper 6/7). After updating to Newspaper 9.8, TD Composer installs automatically and now I can’t hide sections on devices in WPBakery.
I didn’t make any new TD Composer content. All content are made in WPBakery.
How can I continue use WPBakery with Newspaper 9.8?

and please increase all requirements that are lower, and follow all steps.
Usually the “Invalid reply from server endpoint error” is caused by insufficient WP_Memory_limit
2. Usually this is a plugin conflict, some times is from WPBakery, please deactivate ALL plugins except tagDiv ones, also if you are using child theme or cache plugin, deactivate them, clear all cache and try again.
3. Unfortunately only on cloud template you can change the width, without cloud the only width that you can force are these -> http://prntscr.com/pyj043
4. I think that you want to set 1 solid border around the ads, if is this, then you need to use custom css for theme panel ads -> http://prntscr.com/pyj2p0

Please deactivate the WPBakery plugin and try again, is possible to be some conflict that with this plugin for this error, also make sure that the page that you are editing was build only with tagDiv Composer.

Indeed in Newspaper X there are some conflicts between these builders because a part from tagDiv Composer was moved in standard pack -> https://tagdiv.com/newspaper-theme-update-standard-pack-or-tagdiv-cloud-templates/ we recommend to check on sub-domain or localhost this new update, also maybe you try the Newspaper X without standard pack elements and WPBakery builder ( for example PRO demos ) to see the new flexibility and speed of Newspaper X.
