Hello. I would like to use block 11 style displays, but need to remove the featured image altogether (i.e. no picture showing).

I figured it out. If anyone else is wondering, in theme panel, under block settings, there’s a section titled Meta Info on Modules/Blocks. The ‘Show Modified Date’ there had been turned on when I updated the theme.

As mentioned above, none of the Flex Blocks have the ‘show modified date’ selected
(and to clarify, I do not want the modified date to show, and yet it does for every date).

By that logic, Isn’t it better to disable 1068 and 485 in block settings? And what about category page 150*0? How should I allow them to use the full image.

For the last post, it worked; I never touched anything; it automatically picked .gif full size, not created thumbs. Even though I used WordPress media/featured image settings.
Don’t you think its better for a newspaper to not resize .gifs? or something changed in the update?
Choosing Full Image will affect static png thumbs.. png’s and jpegs will also show full size instead of thumbs.
Hence effecting page performance.
Other than direct upload, is there a way to tell newspaper;
Use Original when Gif, Not thumb, when gif.

Yes, by default this setting is off because is an extra option to show the date and also to show modified date. But, you can enable it from General tab -> Extra of flex block’s element. For more information, please check our guide here: https://forum.tagdiv.com/flex-block-settings-guide/
If you have a global template, then you need to edit only one category and the setting will apply on all your categories. For homepage, you need to edit it with the TagDiv Composer and apply the settings, or you can copy-paste the element which is already set as you like.

Only changing the footer image will not remove the entire row, only if you deleted the row (that image was on the row in css tab -> https://i.imgur.com/KgkGT7B.png). I just checked the source code for the footer and that row with blocks is no longer there. What you can do now is to use an revision for the footer cloud templates, for this go in cloud templates and click on edit on the footer template -> https://i.imgur.com/nGn8VRD.png in case that this is option is not enabled what you can do is to get that footer template from the cloud and edit it again.

Yes, this can be done, here is an example what you need to do:
The Newspaper theme allows you to include flex blocks inside your post content using a single post template.
Simply click on the single post content element and click on the Ads tab. Here, you are able to add the code for the flex block to be display inside the post content. An example code to add flex block with a random post can be get from here.
Example : Flex block with a random post. The sample code added in the field for the article inline ad 1.
To make your own inline blocks, create a new page and set the flex block that you want to use, after you edit it just copy the shortcode for the flex block from the page and set it like in above example.
The code is the one set between the “vc_column” and “/vc_column” shortcodes

This is because there wee created thumbs for the gif that is not working and the theme is no longer use the original file and it is using the thumbs.
What you can do is to upload the gif in WordPress folder using ftp and not the media from WordPress so the thumbs will no longer be created, or better you can choose the full size thumb for the blocks and featured images, this can be done using tagDiv Composer -> https://i.imgur.com/t222Nc2.png -> https://i.imgur.com/OXcGXQt.png -> https://i.imgur.com/kR3aNW5.jpg

We updated the Newspaper 11 theme on Tuesday.
I am now trying to add an image to a post in the bloc editor and wrap the text around it.
When I click on the image I’ve added, I can’t seem to activate the image tools to align left, centre, right, move, wrap that show up in tutorial videos.
And, when I click on the image it highlights the paragraph bloc.
I can only seem to to this in classic editor mode. But then an error shows up in the bloc editor.
Do I need to send you login info?

I’ve just realized the date that showing is in fact the last modified date (I updated all our tags today, so every post has been modified). This seems very odd. None of the flexblocks have the ‘show modified date’ option checked.
How do I get the homepage to only show the published date?
The same problem also appears, I note, in the Category template pages.

Is it possible to insert a Block or Flex Block between 2 paragraphs of a post?
When I write a post all the text is in a single block. Therefore a Flex Block can be inserted at the beginning or at the end, but not between paragraphs.

When I turn on 1064 x 0 in block settings.
Newspaper resize the featured image and add
1068x600.gif
at the end of the original gif url.
As you pointed out in the first post.
One can access the original gif, by removing 1068×600 from the end.
So, the question now is, why it is resizing on my side, but not yours?
I made a post and no one responded. I need to make sure the update for Newspaper theme will not mess anything up.
The theme already is pretty buggy and I had to change a lot of things to make it work how I wanted. When I update, is it going to change the block settings, and how the articles filter? Or will it change anything with the settings on the theme ‘system status’?
I don’t know what the update does.

If I don’t use stated tags, than same advertorial can appear on 2 or on all 3 flex blocks at once. That Is why I use tags as a aditional filter option on 3 modules/blocks that are used for showing adverts on homepage.
Is there option to hide these specific tags from showing on single page of the advert even though it is assigned to it with some kind of CSS and .class? Maybe If one of your coding experts could help? 🙂

If you want to exclude the ad1,2,3 from that block then you can exclude the category Oglas from the homepage in that flex block by writing -ID, check the guide here: https://forum.tagdiv.com/flex-block-settings-guide/
If you want to exclude the tag Oglas 1,2,3 from the articles, then there is no setting for that because that element brings automatically all the tags that you have for the current post/article.

I tried that already, the newspaper is automatically resizing it.
What I did was changed the dpi to 72. even though gifs don’t have dpi..
and disabled 1068*0 thumbs from block settings in the themes panel.
Though it’s showing on post page now, but not on other thumbs on the homepage.
I am also not using any plugins that changes images.

If you want to display on blocks the number of reviews and not the stars, then will be need to make some custom changes in the theme files.

If I understand correctly, the problem is only for the pages that are not cached. Do you have many pages that do not need to be cached?
What I can recommend to do to improve the page speed is to set less flex blocks on pages and cloud templates, remove the ajax pagination from flex blocks, disable the google fonts, disable the standard pack (in case that is enabled and you use some elements from this plugin, those will be display as shortcodes), you also can disable the view post count (remove it with tagDiv Composer from post template) and disable the ajax view count.
I hope that doing those optimizations the speed will became better.

Can u record video, where u create new post and select gif as featured image. After that make sure it works on post page and in the posts loop block.

Hi, im using a most viewed or most visit block on my website, this block is taking data from Jetpack. My problem is that im not going to use anymore this plugin and i don’t know which other plugin your template is compatible with (related to views/visits).
Can i use any other plugin or can you recommend me one? i still want to use a most viewed area somewhere on my site but to be honest, jetpack is not the best choice.

Hi Betina, please use the credentials provided and check what’s causing that error.
We know exaclty how to use the composer to customise the excerpt lengh. Only numbers where used (no leter’s by mistake) and the error occurrs in every block or module along the site. ANY and ALL of them!
As far as using your login credentials, they where sent in a email forward to yur department by your coleague Bogdan (March 8th). We are still waitting for your feedback regarding that issue. Bogdan refered that we may have a conflict.
