The popular post sorting requires this option to be active in the theme panel
https://forum.tagdiv.com/7-days-post-sorting/
Once you activate that setting the theme will start counting the views posts get. For this to happen the post views have to be active – http://prntscr.com/nli2rx
Posts should begin to appear in the block after doing this.

Flex grids can use a few thumbnail sizes to choose from http://prntscr.com/nli4ue
Also alignment slider – http://prntscr.com/nli53d so you can display the top, middle or bottom of the image.
There should be enough setting to achieve the result you want.

Depends, in a page a sidebar can be created by for example splitting a row like this
http://prntscr.com/nli67u
In that column you can either add elements directly from the composer, or use a widget sidebar and select from your existing widget sidebars

Hi,

If you like that demo, you need to import it and check all the elements which were used for creating it. For videos, the theme has Playlist element -> https://www.screencast.com/t/YpcJPitQ
For your second question, you can create a category for all of these (video) posts and then, add a simple block and filter it by that category. Please check the documentation from here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/block-settings-tutorial/

Hope this helps!

Thank you!

I’m not sure I understand. I have a main menu using pages (like “News”) from my site and everything is working perfectly on that main menu. When I click News I am directed to the News page. I’m creating a more specific block of News posts (using block 17) and have set the category filter for News. I also set ajax categories for each of the news menu sub-items (local, national, world). How can I make these ajax categories link to the actual page? Currently they still direct to /#, as do the search icon and various other parts of the page. Please help! Thanks.

Hi,

The theme may not work with such an implementation or plugins. It is designed to be used with self published content, featured images, categories, tags etc have to be set manually in order to function correctly with the theme blocks and grids for example, or with the post templates. We don’t have a guide I can provide you with or plugin suggestions for using feeds with the theme.

Some users mention that they use such plugins successfully, maybe this topic is helpful

Hello !

It appears that under your Watch Now section you have a Latest Articles section and the latest articles section provided by the page template can’t be moved – https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-page-templates/ it will always appear at the bottom of the page and it will use pagination.

A solution is to choose the default page template for the page in question, then add a block called latest articles and sorted by latest (which will function the same way basically) in the location you want. You can choose from the default blocks
https://demo.tagdiv.com/newsmag/block-1/
Or use a flex block and it’s options to customize how it looks
https://demo.tagdiv.com/newsmag/flex-block/

Alson on the side you have page widgets wich can be edited by going to Appearance – Widgets

Thank you !

Okay, I now see what’s the problem, thanks.

But I also have a problem with other things. Can you help me?
First – Block 24 shows no posts – I wanted it to be “Popular in the last week”, so there’s Category filter – all categories and Sort order – Popular (last 7 days). It shows nothing…

Second – Big Grid Flex 9 shows miniatures with moved images. What I mean – when I have a main image for the post it’s good but on Grid it is like moved down instead of cenetered. In other miniatures images are cropped… What image size I should use for my website so all would look good?

Also – is there any way I could make a sidebar on the main page the way it is inside the posts? Right now when I want to change the blocks, the other main content on the page is moving and getting bigger – depending on the size of the block in the sidebar.

I would really appreciate your help

Hi, i use post-format ‘video’ to difference videos to standard post in my site.
I want to use a Cloud Template for a ‘single page’ of video post format. Is posible?
I would like a special format in a single page of video format post, like a “Video News” demo theme.

And other question. How to group post with video post format in a Block on my Home with tag div composer? I want to put together all my post with video post format.

Thx, and sry for my bad english

HI,

Hi,

The mobile theme is a plugin that provide you a better speed then responsive version of theme, but in order to achieve that speed you’ll need to create a new content for pages because in the most of cases those were made with builders ( tagDiv Composer, WPBakery ) and you need to use only the mobile editor ( you need to set the content for pages in mobile editor and this content will be display on mobile theme)
-> https://www.screencast.com/t/ebUIzt4se

If you want the responsive version and amp you should use this opinion -> https://www.screencast.com/t/jZct5ueBqOrb but if you have amp activate on pages you’ll need to create in Mobile editor a content for AMP version of page.

Also please check our documentation for Mobile Theme: Automatic Optimization for Mobile with Newspaper Theme -> https://tagdiv.com/mobile-theme-automatic-optimization-for-mobile-newspaper-theme/

Also for the 3 blocks, for those you’ll need to have set seam feature posts (that have set feature category) -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/featured-posts-2/ -> https://www.screencast.com/t/QsJ6ppY4

You’ll need to add some posts in feature category -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/featured-posts-2/ if you do not have this category you can create it, just make sure that you set the category name to be
Featured

Let me know if you have more questions!

Hi,

From what I know there were and are plans for quite a while to implement this in the theme, but it wasn’t up to this point unfortunately. Currently the viewed post is not excluded from the widgets, so it will appear there. You could try the solution from this topic
https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/sidebar-block1-customization/
Enter that code in the mentioned file – http://prntscr.com/nl14ch

Or you could use a maybe a random sort for the block widgets in the sidebar, to reduce the chances that the current post is displayed there. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Thanks

See how the layout is stretching out past the body div and all over the place?

Those are all simply the layout block. No special Gutenberries Add ons or anything else. Just the native Gutenberg layout block: https://prnt.sc/nl04l6 <— That one.

Can we get a fix for this please?

Hi,

This is a customization which comes with that demo. If you want to change the color of it you need to do it with such a custom CSS code. Try the code below and place it in Theme panel -> Custom CSS area.

.td-newsmag-magazine .block-title>a:after, .td-newsmag-magazine .block-title>span:after {
background-color: green!important;
}

The result is here -> https://www.screencast.com/t/ouDA3loE

Hello !

In order to delete unwanted blocks from your homepage you can simply do that by using the tagDiv Composer -> click on block and then drag it to the right – bottom corner to delete:
https://www.screencast.com/t/HWkh1DDE4 ; https://www.screencast.com/t/449hoQnVf

Here you can find more tips and tricks on how to use more features of the tagDiv Composer: https://tagdiv.com/tagdiv-composer-page-builder-basics/

Hi,

Works alright when I test it. I checked in a different post because the one from above leads to a 404. Before using the code I can’t even select the caption text, but after adding that margin this issue should be fixed – http://prntscr.com/nky7ma
http://prntscr.com/nky8jk

Try it like this, it is stronger

.tdb_template_106606 .tdb_single_featured_image.td_block_wrap {
margin-bottom: -15px!important;
}

Clear the cache after entering the code in the theme panel.

Or you could try to edit the cloud post template, then set a negative margin bottom for the featured image element – http://prntscr.com/nkybar this should work just as well.

Thanks

Hi,

I made a mistake previously, in my reply. Block 15 set in a full row, when on mobile will look like this http://prntscr.com/nkx21w -> http://prntscr.com/nkx24t

In your case the block behaves alright, but seems the post titles are missing
http://prntscr.com/nkx3idhttp://prntscr.com/nkx3pg
So the block will not look good on mobile at least. On the right side of the thumbnail the post title should appear.

Did you maybe make changes to the excerpt length for that module? Please check here
http://prntscr.com/nkx4d8
Let me know.

Hello !

In order to hide dates or other information about your posts on a specific block you have to use flex blocks. These blocks are the only one who have multiple filters as you can see here: https://www.screencast.com/t/sSorRAjyBV

You can also take a look at our flex block documentation to find out more about it: https://tagdiv.com/tagdiv-composer-flex-block-elements/
