Both our themes were tested up to php 7.1.0 Php has versions up to 7.1.9 at this point but we only tested up to 7.1.0.

Both our themes are fully compatible with php 7.1.0 but there could be other parameters influencing this on your end. We do not have complaints about any version of PHP at this moment but please understand there are a ton of server configurations that can influence the proper functionality of the theme. If you suspect the php version, try a few of them out as cpanel allows you in most cases to change the version very easily. It could not be the php version at all, there could be limitations to your host, bad file permissions, blocked files on your install, etc.

The gradient could be removed with some CSS. The bottom box color in that grid style will be the theme accent color

You could keep the current accent color and change the bottom, box color with a code like this

The color is in rgba format, the last value being the opacity or transparency of the background color. You can use any color or color code format you want. Then enter the code in Theme panel->Custom CSS

1. The latest articles section can only be removed by selecting a different page template. It can be customized in terms of module used and content displayed, and can have a custom sidebar set

2. You can only chose from the available predefined footer templates. The footer section cannot be edited in a different way. There are a maximum of three columns that can be used in the footer, in which you can add widgets.

There is a current issue with the text elements, in the theme. When setting a row background it will be displayed over the actual content, instead of a background.
This issue will be fixed in the next theme update, in the meantime please enter this code in Theme panel->Custom CSS

The category pages also displays posts from around that period of time

If this is caching it is pretty strong caching. That would also explain why logged users do not have this problem, while visitors get served with cached pages. Exactly the same content is displayed, refreshing the page will not matter.
Please contact the hosting provider and describe the problem. The server might have it’s own caching implemented, if you do not have caching installed. Deactivate it and install your own, or maybe configure it different if possible.

You can try to use an ‘image box’ element and remove the overlay with this css:

The most recommended method and also guaranteed to work is to regenerate the thumbnails

This process will recreate thumbnails from the featured images.
The thumbnails are defined in this theme file if you want to change how future thumbnails will be created, in the code

You will have to modify the module used as well, each module uses one of those thumbnails

There will probably be need for additional CSS styling for the module, as other elements displayed on it depend on the current thumbnail size for positioning margins, padding etc.

1) There is an image creating that space there added by the cookies-for-comments plugin.

2) Your sidebar is using the defualt open sans font and your content uses the palatino font. Please make sure you change all of the fonts in the fonts section of the theme panel.
As an alternative, you can add this code in your theme panel-> custom css box:

font-family:Palatino Linotype;
}

The Load more pagination is available only for blocks. The article lists loop like the one on the author page use numeric pagination only. This cannot be changed.
