Hello,
We have a grid setup on the home-page that is configured to sort the articles in random order. The short-code looks correct, but does not appear to be working: [td_block_big_grid_3 category_id="3686" sort="random_posts"] — are we missing anything from the short-code? From what I’ve read it looks like the Newspaper theme uses WordPress wp_query() function to deliver random posts, so if a category and random sort order are set, it should deliver random posts from, the specific category. Currently the articles display in the same order on each page refresh; we would like the home-page grid to randomize the order upon refreshing.
The website URL is: toolsinaction.com — please advise if there’s anything else you need to help troubleshoot the issue.
Hello.
(1) I have two webpages, and I have Newspaper 8 on one of them, and Newspaper 7 on the other that was bought in April this year. I am using Block 12 for both of the pages. For the template that was bought in April, the images appear noticeably sharper for Block 12 compared to the newest template. I would like images to be as sharp as possible.
(2) When uploading a logo to the Newspaper 8, it seems that any predefined sized in terms of pixels do not affect the appearance of the logo on the site. For the template that was bought in April, I do not have this problem. Additionally, the logo uploaded on the template from April is again noticeably sharper than for the newest template downloaded.
Best,
Glenn
Sorry, I think I misspoke…I mean the author box element. This: https://www.screencast.com/t/nUhc8yFO02. Is there a way in font settings to customize the font family, style, line height, etc. for the Author Block Element? Thanks!
The sign for sub category is not working fine in my website. Anytime this happens I re-upload the theme back and it gets in the right position but before a week runs out it moves up again. This is example of what i mean in this link http://247cliq.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/07/cate.jpg I marked it out with red block. Thanks as I wait for the right solution.
I found putting my custom styles at the end of the style.css file fixes that. But your mileage may vary, as I like to say 🙂
I always change the blockquote style, too. I’d prefer a medium size bold+italic as default and flush left, but somebody at TD loves the giant centered ALL CAPS thing.
…and also, how can I remove the “Read more” button when listing posts (using Block 12 for example)?
Thanks,
Miso
Hi everyone –
A newbie here, and searched a couple of times in the forums, but couldn’t find the answer.
I just installed Newsmag on my site and love it so far. But running into a persistent problem neither I nor my theme installer person can fix.
The issue is that the default treatment of certain styles — specifically, the blockquote style. The default styling is large, centered, and colored text. We see it here in the forums. I changed that via CSS stylesheets to something I can use. So everything is fine on the front-end.
The problem now is that when I’m writing or editing a post (NOT A PAGE, a POST, so Visual Composer or tD composer are not involved), the blockquote style behaves as it did before the CSS changes.
So the question is, how do we either make the visual editor inherit the CSS styles from the frontend, or change the default theme styles so that both the backend post editor (TinyMCE?) and the frontend website use the same styles?
We already know about the font handling in the theme, which is wonderful. But those don’t cover the default styles (again, the best example is the “blockquote” style).
Thank you
This was my fault. I whitelisted my own site, but the adblocker did not whitelist it correctly. Thanks for the help.
Hello Pierresrl,
Unfortunately, our theme does not have any such an option that allows you to do this, sorry! Please keep in mind that exist a more simple way to follow in this situation like -> make a new category where you should add only video posts and then, create a new block and setup to shot inside it only that category with video posts. It is simple.
Hope this helps!
Thank for the message!
Hi,
I did as you said and i have only required plugin installed and i installed demo – news template. when i selected default then row border is same as block but when i selected “stretch row and content” then row is stretching but not the content. You can make out from my screenshot. I think this is problem with Block1 and Block17. Other Block like Block3,Block12 is working fine with “stretch row and content” option. This is on fresh wordpress installation.

Hi, today, visual composer doesn’t work with TDcomposer! I do not understand the problem!
and does not appear the TD blocks in VC!
Here the screenshot:
I found about this problem.
https://forum.tagdiv.com/block-settings-guide/
Team said “Do not use the random posts sorting options together with pagination as it could result in duplicate posts.”
Hi,
It should work properly for all the blocks and rows. Maybe something is interfering with the theme and with the composer.
Try deactivating all other plugins except the tagDiv composer and the plugins provided in the theme package, and clear any caching installed. Then create a new page and check again with the same block, or different ones.
Please let us know how it goes.
Thanks
Hi,
That should not happen. Maybe you have enabled the Unique articles feature for the page
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/unique-articles/
Having this option enabled in combination with pagination, will result in duplicates.
I have tested the same block with the same post sorting and pagination, and there are no duplicates in my case, with the unique articles disabled.
Thanks
Hi,
You could set a normal font weight property for the social counter, with a code like this
– https://www.screencast.com/t/y7shSZcEM
.td_block_social_counter {
font-weight: normal;
}
Thanks
Hi,
That depends on the limit post number. If the block posts limit is set to 5 for example, the load more pagination will load 5 more posts. The next/rev pagination will refresh the current number of posts.
You can see how these pagination settings works in the same block demo
– https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/block-1/
Thanks
The categories are going under the block title when I first load the page up, once I start to alter the width of the browser it works fine.

As shown the word ‘All’ appears under the title”
How can I fix this?
Thanks
Adam
It didn’t work for me.
I did exactly as you suggested but it is not working with Block1. I attached here the link of the screenshot https://ibb.co/bHt8VQ
With block 14, I filtered with category(have 16 posts).
and sort order – random post, pagination – Load more button.
when I press load more button, it shows same post until 16posts.
What’s the problem?
Hi,
It is possible if you stretch the row where the block is placed
– https://www.screencast.com/t/5itGhdzbQXm
All the rows have the option to stretch them, achieving a full width layout.
More information about using the tagDiv composer here

Thanks
Hello,
If you want that your ads to be displayed on the Category pages, please try to use the code below ->
.td-a-rec-id-sidebar{
display:none;
}
.single .td-a-rec-id-sidebar{
display:block;
}
.category .td-a-rec-id-sidebar{
display:block;
}
.home .td-a-rec-id-custom_ad_2 {
display:none;
}
Thanks.
Hi,
That is the option to limit the posts number displayed in a block, in Visual composer
– https://www.screencast.com/t/ytAMNjvrLeSd
Here you can see how all the block look in different layout situations
– https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/block-1/
The recommended layout to be used when creating a page regardless of page editor used, is a maximum of three columns
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-use-visual-composer/
This will ensure that the blocks and other elements will display with the best results. Using a different row setting, like a four column could cause problems. I am sure you can find a row/column and block combination that you can use, while taking these recommendations in count.
Thanks
Hi,
I believe that is what you are trying to do.
yes. thank you. I wait for patch 🙂
best regards
Hi,
The font used in the Social counter is the Open sans font already
– https://www.screencast.com/t/qSvEXObeLT
The widgets you mention inherit the font properties set for the body in the theme panel. You could change them in particular with custom code, like this for example
– https://www.screencast.com/t/hxgJBIYMr
.td_block_text_with_title {
font-family: "Open sans";
font-size: 20px
}
The code must be entered in Theme panel->Custom CSS, if you decide to use it. Please correct me if I misunderstand something.
Thanks
Is it possible to display Block1 in full width? If so, how i have to do it? I want to display it at one place only.
