- NewspaperWP Rocket and Newspaper Theme: Optimization Guide
- TutorialsWhat is Ajax preloading?
Hi,
The problem seems to be the lightspeed cache that is apply on pagination. ON paginations that are not cached are displaying the right numbers of pages and articles. You need to exclude from cache this parameter ?tdb-loop-page
Thank you!
Dear Support Team,
I am using the Newspaper theme along with the Mobile Theme extension and the WP Rocket plugin. Everything works fine on both desktop and mobile devices. However, I recently noticed that the Mobile Theme is also being loaded on tablet devices.
This behavior wasn’t present before, tablets used to display the desktop version correctly. I have cleared all caches and reviewed the settings, but I couldn’t find any option related to tablet behavior.
Could you please clarify why the Mobile Theme is now loading on tablets, and if there is a way to force the desktop version to appear on these devices?
Thank you in advance for your help!
Best regards,
Peter
Hello,
I’m currently facing an issue with text editing on my website using your theme (Newspaper theme).
Problem Description:
I am unable to edit any inline text or heading text in tagDiv Composer. Even after I make changes, the default placeholder text keeps showing on the front end.
• I can change colors, sizes, and other design elements successfully.
• But when I try to change or write my own text, it doesn’t reflect — only the default text appears.
• This issue occurs for both headings and inline text blocks.
What I’ve Tried:
• Cleared cache (browser and WordPress cache)
• Tried on multiple browsers
None of the above fixed the issue.
This is a serious problem as I can’t publish content with placeholder/default text. Kindly look into it urgently and let me know what steps I should follow to resolve this.
Thank you,
Shaunit Nishant
Unfortunately, we’re still having an issue with caching of the site, even after installing a minification plugin. So it seems that the issue could still be underlying. Apparently, caching of the site and is working correctly; DreamHost says they had already bypassed the cache on the tdAjaxSearch.js file as requested, and since I added the minification plugin, caching for JS is also disabled. DreamHost also notes that they do have a rule set up for not caching the tdAjaxSearch.js, so were wondering if you could provide additional information on what other file could be generating
cache, if any, that could clash with their Nginx cache. On their end, they say they don’t have any other caching rules set up that could affect the caching
completely. Thanks.
Hi,
Everything that has been made/added by you will not be lost, but pages, templates, categories … everything that is added by the theme you have now will be removed when you try to use a different theme, this situation is will all themes not only with Newspaper theme because is something normal in WordPress.
What I will recommend is to use a staging, for this you can try wp-staging cache plugin – https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-staging/ and you can try the theme there to see what is removed and what remains after you change the theme.
Thank you!
Never mind! I cleared my browser cache and it seems to have fixed the problem.
It was strange as it happened suddenly, out of nowhere…
Hi Guys,
We’re migrating servers and we’ve just migrated everything to our staging/temp domain but main homepage images have been set to ‘blank’. Also article images have been set to blank. Strangely, the article title is also ‘Sample Page Title’ and we’re not quite sure why?
Live domain: https://dorseteye.com/
Staging/test site: https://dorseteye-u47296.vm.elestio.app/
Example article:
https://dorseteye-u47296.vm.elestio.app/dorset-man-among-victims-of-air-india-flight-ai171/
https://dorseteye.com/dorset-man-among-victims-of-air-india-flight-ai171/
Cleared cache and updated everything. Have disabled WP-Rocket.
I was going to use a regenerate thumbnails plugin but we have allot of images so I wanted to ask here first.
Thanks
Hi raghavendra,vikram02 I think that you are using something to compress/optimize cache the images. The elements used set the image as background using css and the optimization used by you is interfering. If the image is set using html img than it’s display – https://i.imgur.com/ZZ4szbf.png
Hi flcahill1, please try check if you are adding a new block in that block is displaying the image?
Hi,
It is possible that one of your extra plugins to interfere. Please disable all plugins except tagDiv Composer and make sure that all cache and object cache is purged, after that try to activate the theme.
IN case that you already tried that and the problem persists, please contact us via email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide temporary wp-admin access and the license key. I will check and try to resolve as soon as possible.
Thank you!
Hi,
Please check the Lazy Load iframes settings from the cache plugin. Go to your Media Settings, disable Lazy Load iframes and purge the cache.
Thank you!
Unfortunately I am still struggling. As I said, I have also tried disabling the Litespeed Cache plugin entirely.

Here you can see that the container correctly goes full-width but the embed element doesn’t. I can see that the video has the lazyloaded class applied, I just don’t understand why.
In Litespeed Cache I have iframe lazy loading completely disabled, and I have also put is-type-video and youtube-embed in the classes to filter out from iframe lazyload.
I am running out of ideas.

Hi,
Please try to exclude the embedded video iframe from cache , this should resolve the problem.
Thank you!
Hi, since updating to the latest version of Newspaper we have some issues with embed scaling.
When loading a page that contains YouTube videos (example) there are scaling issues.
If I refresh the page while in front of the video, the video scales correctly, but if loading the page when not “looking” at the video, the embedded element is small.
Notes:
– We use LiteSpeed Cache
– LazyLoading for iframe is disabled
– I’ve tried disabling the cache plugin, but the problem is still there
Hi,
Please try like this, set the post template on default in the theme panel – https://i.imgur.com/AKUljLS.png and in case that the plugin tagDiv Standard Pack is activated please check the settings from post settings to have enabled the comments on posts – https://i.imgur.com/g3Y3U3Y.png and after those settings clear all cache and check if now are display, if yes, than i possible that the comment element to be removed from single post template.
Another possibility is to have the comment to be close after a period of time – https://i.imgur.com/7o6shrt.png
Thank you!
Hi,
Maybe this is a misunderstanding and you want to have the responsive version on mobile, if so, then you need to go to plugins and disable the tagDiv mobile theme plugin and it will be used the responsive version of the theme. Just clear all cache after the plugin is disabled.
Thank you!
Hi,
1. Most of the time when you make some changes in tagDiv Composer and those are still there when you re-open tagDiv Composer then the situation is related to an object cache or extra cache that is apply on the website when you are logged in.
2. The arrows for next and previous use a custom css to look like this https://tinyurl.com/29wlxnh9 – https://i.imgur.com/ViC2lmS.png if you removed the code you can get it from here or you can import that section from the cloud – https://i.imgur.com/tAJauO7.png
3. For this you need to use the opt-in builder and lock the articles you want to be exclusive.
Thank you!
I assume you mean a 3rd party since i see no tagDiv cache settings?
I went to WP Supercache, set all recommended settings, clicked Update Status, clicked Delete Cached Pages. Same result.
My custom mobile page:

What i’m seeing on mobile (in incognito):

Hi,
Please check the plugins settings and enabled the cache for mobile, after that clear all cache and try again.
Thank you!
Hi YamhillAdvocate, please do what I’m asking. Contact the cache author and ask how you can remove the cache from your website after the cache plugin is disabled.
“Sorry but none of that made any sense to me. I disabled the cache plugin and the mobile plugins, and it’s still showing a mobile version on desktop.” – this is because the cache is delivered from a file, there are cache plugins that are working even when they are disabled, until the cache file is deleted.
Yeah,
Strangely 3 months later, I have this issue back again.
Any ideas on what could be the cause? I believe I am storing variables in object cache, so it shouldn’t need to ping for every single wp_admin request…
Sorry but none of that made any sense to me. I disabled the cache plugin and the mobile plugins, and it’s still showing a mobile version on desktop.
Weirdly it started showing the desktop version on mobile this morning, but then switched back to mobile again.
There is clearly an issue with your theme. Sure while I am logged in as an admin it shows the website correctly on desktop but for anyone not logged in it shows the mobile version.
Yes this is with the most update version of your theme
Got the same issue, I am now trying to enable the separate Mobile Cache in LiteSpeedCache and hope that fixes the issue.
Hi YamhillAdvocate,
Please try like this: check when you are logged in on the website if is displaying the right version or not, if is displaying the right version then you have a cache from a plugin, or maybe from server or CDN that is applying on your website.
Also, if the problem was resolve for a few minutes after the cache was cleared then this is a cache problem, but latter you disabled the mobile plugin … but there was still cache version delivered, not without cache.
When you are using the mobile theme plugin the cache plugin should support mobile cache (to have a separate cache version that will be delivered only on mobile devices, for example – https://i.imgur.com/4MtTg1K.png – https://forum.tagdiv.com/cache-plugin-install-and-configure/
Thank you!
Hi,
If the right css is removed and the layout is still the same it can be a cache or object cache that is apply on website and needs to be cleared, this is the only situation that can be related to the case if the right css is removed from the page/theme panel…
Thank you!
Hi,
This situation is caused by the cache that is apply on the website. Please check the cache settings for css and js, usually those are the settings interfering with the theme layout and functionalities.
Thank you!
