Hello there,
I want to disable the view counts for my posts. I tried this-Newspaper > Theme Panel > Post Settings > Ajax view count> disable.
After this, I cleared my cache too. But the view count is still showing page views. How to deactivate Ajax View Count?

Hello,

Please make sure you also update wp super cache and only use these settings: install-and-configure/
WP super cache is a tested plugin and it works fine with our theme. I have just tested it again and there are no issues showing up. There is something else affecting your site that in combination with wp super cache breaks the layout. Please also test this on a sub-domain with a fresh install of the theme and wp super cache. Without any additional plugins or optimization.

Thank you!

Hello,
The code does not disable itself. The theme code needs activation ONCE and that’s it. You have a problem that resets the database most likely. Either it’s a malware or a plugin that needs resetting those fields. I can’t say for sure but it’s not a theme related issue. There is an external influence over the db fields where the activation is kept. The theme only resets the key activation if the reset key button is pressed in the system status screen.
Please only use tested and recommended plugins and clean your WP install of any malware.

The only tested and recommended plugins to use with our theme are these ones:

WP Super Cache- caching plugin
Contact form 7- used to make contact forms
bbPress- forum plugin
BuddyPress- social network plugin
Font Awesome 4 Menus- icon pack, supported in the theme menus
Jetpack- plugin with lots of features *it may slow down your site
WooCommerce- eCommerce solution
WordPress (Yoast) SEO- SEO plugin
Wp User Avatar- Change users avatars

Anything beyond this list is not tested and I cannot say for sure if it will work or not.

Also please make sure your system status parameters are set according to this guide:
https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/

Thank you!

Hi,

I understand now but I also see minify options available on your install. Please disable any optimization plugin or tool used and disable all plugins except the page builder and clear cache afterwards.

Thank you!

Hello,

This could be a plugin conflict so please disable all plugins except the page builder, clear cache and reset cdn files if you use it. Please also check any custom code you might have added to the theme panel or the theme files. If you use a child theme, please switch to the main theme to make sure it does not affect the proper functionality of the theme.

Thank you!

Th Envira plugin is not tested so I cannot offer any insight into why this happens. Try a different plugin.

Thanks.

I had to deactivate all the plugins via FTP to make it work and realized the WP Super Cache tested plugin was causing conflict, still don’t know why but everytime i activate it, my site crashes

I just deactivated the wp-super cache plugin and i can acces know, but the theme wont read the revolution slide i had and won’t respect the columns set before, for the revolution slider says: [vc_row el_class=”td-slider-row”][vc_column tdc_css=”eyJhbGwiOnsibWFyZ2luLWJvdHRvbSI6IjIwIn19″][rev_slider alias=”newspaper-politics”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row el_class=”td-news-ticker”][vc_column] which was the code, and for the content columns says:[/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row el_class=”td-ss-row”][vc_column width=”2/3″]

Hi,

Something is not functioning properly with the theme, in this case. From what I can see the sidebar is displayed properly on the first two pages of the post, but on the third it breaks out of the page structure and it displays below the post content and comments section
https://www.screencast.com/t/6NUyLzkWO0n
The sidebar should not be displayed below the content. Please try to deactivate all your plugins except theme plugins and clear the cache. Check any code you might have entered in the theme panel code sections, or directly to the theme files.
This could be caused by plugins or custom code, please try the advice provided above and check the results.

Thanks

Hello aqimz91,

1)Errors happened during tdcIframeData.init() -> bindViewsModelsWrappers()!
Please do not use this setting in Seo by Yoast:
https://www.screencast.com/t/n8Cc35EofLh Also, if you are using the WP Super Cache plugin, please ensure that has been right setup according to our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/cache-plugin-install-and-configure/

2)Also, the third important rule is to do not edit a page which was created with Visual Composer with TD Composer.
Also, I have inspected your website and I saw that you are using some untested plugins which can interact with the theme core files and causes a lot of unknown issues like this.
For more information about how you should use our page builder in correct way on our theme, please check the following useful tutorial here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/visual-composer-tagdiv-composer-transition/ -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/tagdiv-composer-tutorial-2/

Clear all the caches and check the results.

Thanks for your understanding!

Hello Thomascth,

Please clear all the caches and check the results. If these settings are enabled, at the bottom of your posts you will have to bring some comments for that posts. Otherwise, these will be hidden. Also, check the general settings of WordPress from here -> https://www.screencast.com/t/lxLYu0RkDLUN to have enabled the Discursion settings.

Hope this helps!

Thanks for your understanding!

Hello jjphmedia,

Unfortunately, I have checked your website but it seems that your site is in maintenance mode, as you can see here -> https://www.screencast.com/t/6FQDGFwfYqQ Notice that the Ajax functionality could be affected by your untested plugins if you are using something like this. Try to disable all of them, leave just only the plugins which come bundled with the theme core files, clear all the caches and check the results.

Thanks for your understanding!

I am working on a new site locally with MAMP PRO.
Everything was working great until yesterday, when I installed the mobile theme plugin.
After that I loose my main homepage.
Every time I try to open the page with tagdiv composer I have the same message:
Errors happened during tdcIframeData.init() -> bindViewsModelsWrappers()!

The steps I did:
I uninstalled the mobile theme plugin
I deactivated all the other plugins except the composer
I installed super cache plugin to delete the cache but I have not anything cached
I am not using yoast seo or any other composer

As you can see I did all the steps you are giving to other people with the same problem… but I still have it!

Can you please give a solution?

Hi,

The system status parameters should be set according to this guide: https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/
But it should not affect the post count. The post count is usually affected by caching. Please check with your host and disable any hosting side cache.

Thanks.

Hi,

No, you do not need to install anything extra but if you use untested plugins, they sometimes remove the theme mega menu option as well as other options. Please disable all plugins except the page builder, clear cache and reset cdn files if you use it. Then check again.

Thanks.

Hi,

You host can also provide a hosting side cache as this tends to be the case more and more. Please contact your host and have them disable any hosting side cache.
Also for wp super cache please only use these settings:
https://forum.tagdiv.com/cache-plugin-install-and-configure/

Thank you!

Hello,
This is a strange issue. It seems your settings are being reset. The theme will not reset so it could be an external influence.

Hi,

From what I can understand you would like to remove the post title, from the post page. There is no theme setting that you can use for this, but you can try a code like this one
https://www.screencast.com/t/ll0uk4vj
It should remove the post title from the post page, on all the post templates. Enter the code in Theme panel->Advanced CSS in the phones section. It will apply only on smaller devices if that is what you need

.single .td-post-title h1{
display:none;
}

If you have caching installed, clear the cache after entering the code.

Thanks

Hi,

Yes, and if you have some additional customizations through your theme you should load the theme without them to see if there are conflicts. You should revert the theme to the default state. Clear all the caches and check the results.

Thanks.

Hello theg1819,

Please notice that our latest theme version was fully tested and after many tests seem to work as expected. If you are using some untested plugins, try to disable all of them, leave just only the plugins which come bundled with the theme core files and use only required plugins and check the results. If you are using some untested plugins, you should disable all of them, clear all the caches and check the results. It seems to be JS issue which can break your theme functionality. Maybe exists some corrupt js files. To avoid this reasons, you should try making a new clean install, from scratch.

Thanks for the message!

Simple hit counter doesn’t use a ton of resources.
The 7-day sort option adds some extra complexity, though.

Be sure to test your posts with F12/console for ajax errors, as that can impact it.
Also try, clearing your browser cookies/cache, disable any ad blockers, etc., and refresh your post couple of times, see if increments in the custom fields on that post.

Hi travisnw,
I’ve checked W3 Total Cache together with CloudFlrare on my WP Site. It’s great speed booster! But I found some issues this with Newspaper theme.
1. Newspaper Mobile Plugin behave improperly.
2. Frame Buster plugins or code is also not functioning properly.
You can use WP Super Cache as suggested by Bogdan B. Also use jetpack. This way I can regain my speed on desktop devices. Still on mobile the speed is not up to the mark.
Thanks & Br,
Prashanth

It does not.
However, WordPress has ‘mini caching’ (transients).

If clearing your cache plugin not fully working, try
a) clear transients with wp-optimize
b) resave permalinks
c) in Chrome, use the force refresh/reload option
