I just updated one of the main pages on our Newspaper based site: wwww.civilianstrong.com/about/

For some reason when I refresh the page it shows an older version of the page.

I have tried using an incognito window and emptying my cache with no luck.

Suggestions?

Hello Bogdan,
I have cleared cache, disabled all plugins except VC and removed all custom css. However, the issue persists. (I have also checked in different browsers.)
Please take a look at this page in the section “Options you have to enable on CloudFlare’s dashboard”: http://www.infophilic.com/get-almost-100-pagespeed-newspaper-theme/ . There are two screenshots – and they both stick out to the right in exactly the same way my images do. There are more examples of this on the same site.
In your release notes for 7.4 you mention a fix for unaligned images. Could it be this fix that is causing this behaviour?
Thanks for your help.

Hello Walther,
I cannot recreate the issue on my end. I have checked your site and it seems your images are getting a margin that does not come from the theme. I suspect plugins: http://screencast.com/t/Es1O8NIbrEtb
Please disable all plugins except visual composer, clear cache and reset cdn files if you use it. Please also check any custom code or image optimization tools. Disable rocket loader and photon as they are known to cause issues with our theme.
Let us know how it goes.
Thank you!

Hello Mantis,

The back end of Visual Composer can be found in the panel, when you create/edit your own page, like this -> http://screencast.com/t/ZUpqOKjUuNC You should insert that code there, clear all your caches and check the results.

Thanks for your understanding!

Hi,
I am using Newsmag and need to put on display the popular posts from the posts that were published in last 7 days (or any specific period) instead of from all the posts published since the start. I am not using Jetpack plugin and W3total cache plugin. How i can do it without using any plugin in your theme on the basis of page views and not the number of comments.

Hello,
Contact form 7 is a tested and approved plugin. Please test with only visual composer and contact form 7 active. Then see if the issue is still there. Right now I cannot see it and I cannot recreate it on my side.
Deactivate all plugins except VC and contact form, clear cache and reset cdn files.
Let us know if you still have this issue.
Thank you!

Hi,

I cannot recreate the error on my end so there is something affecting the layout on your side. Please disable all plugins except visual composer, clear cache and reset cdn files if you use it. Also check any custom code. Switch to the main theme if you have a child theme.
Let us know if you still have trouble with it.

Thank you!

Hi,
I have updated to v. 7.4 on one of my Newspaper sites today. As a result I got the mobile menu on top of my header on desktop, and the header was showing an additional sitename under the logo. I cleared all caches and deactivated all plugins except VC and WP Super Cache. When I reactivated my plugins one by one, it turned out that Contact Form 7 was causing this behaviour. As both theme and plugin versions have been around for a few weeks, I suppose that nobody else has run into this.
Could you please have a look at my site and see if it is indeed Contact Form 7 that is causing this? The site is http://www.sverigetips.se. (Contact Form 7 is deactivated now.)
I can send you login details if you want to have a look. Please let me know.

Hello ravester,

I have checked your website and I did not saw any problem with your mobile theme. It seems that the mobile theme is working fine on your website, right? -> http://screencast.com/t/3Pmwig75j I have checked your source page and I noticed that you are suing W3 Total Cache as caching plugin. Please notice that this type of plugin is not tested with our theme and it could be possible as this plugin to create some unknown issues in theme. If your problem will recur, please try to disable all the active plugins, leave just Visual Composer to active, clear all your caches and install only the plugins that come bundled with the theme and rule out any conflicting plugins.

Thanks for your understanding!

Hello,
This is a very common issue caused by a javascript error. This error could come from multiple sources but the most common one is plugin conflicts.
Please disable all plugins except visual composer, clear cache and reset cdn files. Also check for any customization or js minification as they can also break the theme js.
Thank you!

Hello,

Please check the block settings and make sure you have the proper sorting option in place.
Also check your cache as changes on your site are affected by the cache we only recommend wp super cache and these settings: https://forum.tagdiv.com/cache-plugin-install-and-configure/ if you use a cdn: https://forum.tagdiv.com/cloudflare-cdn/
If the problem is still there, please to disable all plugins except visual composer, clear cache and reset cdn files. Then test again.

Thank you!

Hello tecmoc,

I guess that your Facebook ID is not correct. Please try to delete it and try to use only the numeric ID without characters, clear all your caches and check the results. -> http://screencast.com/t/6PRU6euY
If the problem is still there, please send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com with your log-in information (wp-admin) so we can further inspect it closer your setup page. Also, provide there the link of this topic so we can easily identify you.

Thanks for your understanding!

I’m saying that small amount of text doesn’t slow down the mobile load — not all the ads are loading just the TEXT for the code. Once compressed and gzipped by server/browser and cached, not an issue.

If you’re showing (3) ads on mobile then only those 3 ads are loaded, not six.

Same way one menu is hidden for mobile in responsive design but different menu would load on mobile; part of the code works on one but not the other, but both are there so page doesn’t have to ‘reload’ when changing from landscape to portrait.

Again, however, simplest way is to load only a responsive ad unit and load that in the actual templates where you want, like a sidebar widget, and Google would then resize on the fly to the viewport.

Just food for thought. I don’t work here 🙂

Hello,

The homepage post will show the post you want if you add the right id in it;s block settings
If this does not change instantly, it probably means you have caching enabled or a cdn server or both. In this case you need to clear cache and reset cdn files if you use it in order to see the results instantly.

Thank you!

Hello,

Please disable both wp rocket and rocket loader as they are known to cause issues with our theme. the recommenced cache and cdn settings are these ones: https://forum.tagdiv.com/cache-plugin-install-and-configure/
https://forum.tagdiv.com/cloudflare-cdn/
If the issue is still there please disable all plugins except visual composer, clear cache and reset cdn files.
We have no reports of such issues until now so i think it’s a simple plugin conflict.
Also if you have any custom code added to the theme panel or customization done to the theme files, please also remove them to see if they do not affect the functionality of the theme. if you have a child theme, test the main theme also.

Thank you!

Hello,
That does not seem to be an error. It is maybe a plugin you have installed that will hide the wordpress dashboard when writing a post. An error is when a functionality breaks, not when an unknown functionality shows up and works properly as i see there. please disable all plugins except visual composer, clear cache and reset cdn files. Then test again. That is an intended functionality, not an error.
Thank you!

Hello styzzz,

Unfortunately, our theme does not have any such an option that offers you a way to remove the category base because this is related to WordPress. Far as I know there is an option in Seo Yoast and you can disable from there the category base, like this -> http://screencast.com/t/3GCsuVote Please try to test it and see how it will work or not. Please notice that it may not work for all sites permalink structures. After you have made this setting you should re-save your permalinks, clear all your caches and check the results.

Thanks for your understanding!

Thanks Catalin

I’ve added that into the theme panel but no luck (have cleared cache, cookies). The site is still in dev and password protected, can I send you a secure link/details?

cheers

Hello neoprofit,

I have inspected your website and I saw that you have some unknown js errors to your console and also, I noticed that you are using a lot of untested plugins which can influence the good working of the theme. Please try to disable all the active plugins, leave just Visual Composer to active, clear all your caches and install only the plugins that come bundled with the theme and rule out any conflicting plugins.

Thanks for your understanding!

Hello tonikusi4,

Please try again to make these changes as above indications because all users who have had this problem was solved by following these steps. Clear all your caches and check the results.

Hello rickyTWD,

First of all, please try to disable all the active plugins, leave just Visual Composer to active, clear all your caches and install only the plugins that come bundled with our theme and rule out any conflicting plugins. Also, please ensure that you are using a Google Font which has a support for that language. Also, check the Theme panel, Google Fonts Settings and you can turn on each of them, like this -> http://screencast.com/t/JrGVsxVxwzd

Hope this helps!

Thanks for your understanding!

I am not good at codes , but upon thorough reading this is my understanding ,, confirm if I am right or wrong …”My understanding after reading is that …I need to edit the super-cache/wp-cache-phase1.php and change(Clear and replace) the file at line 654 from .. if ( function_exists( “apply_filters” ) ) {.. TO ….if ( function_exists( “apply_filters” ) && has_filter( ‘supercache_filename_str’ )) {

Please confirm or otherwise before I do the changes …Thanks in advance

Hello Monique,

You did not mention anything about disabling the other plugin so please disable all plugins except visual composer, clear cache and reset cdn files if you use it. This will rule out a plugin conflict. If the problem is still there after you do the above steps, then please contact us via email at contact@tagdiv.copm and provide wp-admin so we can login and investigate the issue.

Thank you!

Hello,

We do not recommend using 2 ads in one ad spot. the theme was not designed to work like this. If you want rotating ads, you can use a plugins such as adrotate but we have not tested multiple ads in one spot with our ad system/
As for the mobile theme issue, there is a problem with wp super cache. please follow this topic: https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/mobile-theme-problems-3/

Thank you!
