Hello josflachs,

I have inspected your website and I saw that you are using some untested plugins which can influence the proper functioning of the theme. Please try to disable all the active plugins, leave just Visual Composer to active, clear all your caches and install only the plugins that come bundled with the theme and rule out any conflicting plugins.

Thaks for your understanding!

Hi,

Caching is the most obvious reason. You still served the old version of the css through cache and it since then got cleared. It’s always recommended to clear all cache after an update.

Thank you!

Hello ugtfica,

Sorry for my misunderstanding! Yes, from there you can change the size of your post title, according to what post template you use. For example, if you use the Post Template Style 1, you should change the size from this field. Clear all your caches and test it again.

Thanks for your understanding!

Hello,
Please disable all plugins except visual composer, clear cache and reset cnd files if you use it. The try to re-save the permalinks. Please also test this on a WP default theme as our theme does not control the permalinks, but rather wordpress.
Let us know how it goes.

If you’re using an optimization plugin, check your minification. I use W3C Total Cache, and always have to tweak the settings whenever they release a new update (like they did last week) to get my images to appear.

Hi

We’re sorry for any inconvenience you have encountered using our theme.
The theme is tested and feature images should be displayed without any changes in code. However checking your site I’ve found some errors in browser’s console which are related with theme’s js: http://screencast.com/t/A5oKnz8tg This errors may be caused by some plugins which conflicts with the theme or by some minifycation used for js. Try to deactivate all plugins except Visual Composer, clear all caches, purge cdn files if you’re using, remove the css/js minification then test the site again.

The theme can’t control the informations picked by Facebook sharer when a post is shared. Facebook looks for og tags and picks the details from these tags. To generate the og tags you can use a plugin like SEO By Yoast which is tested and works fine with our theme. Please check these links for more details in this regard: https://kb.yoast.com/kb/getting-open-graph-for-your-articles/https://yoast.com/social-media-optimization-with-wordpress-seo-by-yoast/
Another important aspect is server’s response time. Facebook won’t wait to long for requested data and if the server respond to slow some data will be skipped. Checking your site with google page-speed tool I’ve noticed that the response time is higher then 6s, please check the screen: http://screencast.com/t/2qMDqyDS2 Make sure that your server meets theme’s requirements and also ensure that the parameters from system status have the values indicated here: https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/

It is very likely that Facebook won’t anything about a new published post. Facebook handle a huge amount of data and a new published post won’t be indexed automatically. However you can force Facebook to update new posts by running a fresh scrape with debugger tool: https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/og/object/http://screencast.com/t/8rKTpv28f

Hope this helps!
Thanks!

My nav menu is schitzo. The dropdown menu arrows show up after a clear browser cache, show up when on some pages, but then disappear on others. Any fix to this? thanks

I really don’t get why this theme is so slow for my site. I’m talking aol dialup slow, on a live med/high traffic site. There’s nothing on my site that’s really out of the ordinary. I optimize my images, did the cache, have many of the same plugins as my old theme, have the minimum requirements for the theme, etc.

So last question — could it be because I installed it as the demo WITH the content (later deleting the content). Should I try reinstalling it with no demo content? Thanks.

Hello lasvegascfp,

Yes, this is the right section where you should edit your Blog and Post template settings. In order to achieve best results, please ensure that you have cleared all your caches. Also, please make sure that you have changed the theme to Blog mode from the General Settings from WordPress

Thanks for your understanding!

Hi

The settings from theme panel should not be affected by theme’s update as they are stored in database which is not touched during the update. The settings may be lost only if the db is damaged or the reset function is used: http://screencast.com/t/RnjDahif4r5
Try to deactivate all plugins except Visual Composer, clear all caches, purge the cdn if you’re using then try to import the settings again.

Let us know ho it goes.
Thanks!

Hi

The theme use thumbs to display featured images on modules. From each image it’s cut a new thumb for each size defined theme panel: http://screencast.com/t/ktBuIKelyMm Checking your site I’ve noticed that you don’t have the thumbs properly generated. Try to deactivate all plugins except Visual Composer, clear the caches then try to regenerate the thumbs again.

You can get the shortcode by clicking classic mode button in Visual Composer, the plugin will switch in back-end editor: http://screencast.com/t/yCJufRzCIrC

Thanks!

Did you try the normal fixes to solve the issue with your WordPress setup?

a) proper install of theme and plugins; disable plugins that came with former theme
b) check enough system resources per the theme system status
c) disable plugins you might be using that conflict with Visual Composer
d) clear cache in browser and on your site
e) RTFM (read the instructions)
f) turn off ad blocking or intrusive anti-virus that blocks your own WordPress admin panel
g) be very specific in WHAT does not save, where, and what you did to try to debug why YOUR setup isn’t working
h) review other topics on here as to how folks fixed their particular problem, such as using cloudflare the wrong way, or not clearing cache, etc. — only YOU can manage your own website — theme cannot fix things unrelated to itself, nor can others
i) if you ask for help, people here try to help
j) insults and the like help no-one

Tens of thousands of people using this theme for 3+ years use it every day; but not every web hosting setup is the same. If your setup works with “normal” WordPress settings and is up to date with latest secured version of WP, theme should work if properly installed.

Tech support offers help as time permits, in order received, and they do respond to everybody and all emails. And have always done so, as I can attest as long time user.

Don’t give up! Try to check some of the things mentioned above AGAIN, if done already — try changing to different web browser (e.g., CHROME); if you’re using broken old version of Safari on Windows, or similar, that can be issue also.

Helps to describe what you are doing and HOW you are doing it, and perhaps you will get some help.

Hi Chris S, indeed it would be great!

A little advice for that users who will want to use this improvement for Speed-booster plugin.

Using this code in combination for example with that one provided by Chris S in his [tutorial], you’ll have a double-edged knife (you’re warned! 🙂 ) if not used with caution.

Good to know: even if you update your theme to a new version, browsers/CDNs/… and in the end users, they all not recognize your changes until your rules for “Expire headers” will expire! and I’m sure that you’ll go crazy the tagDiv staff 🙂 with: “my users not seen me changes/updates” or similar.

In addition it should be recalled that a normal users (visitors) which makes search on Internet, will not erase the cache from their devices to see our web (recent version).
So, if you are use this snippet, use it with precaution in combination with an flexible time for expire headers depending on your activity!

Can be controled also by Cache-Control Headers but that’s another story apart

———-
Summary to remove query strings from static resources with Speed-Booster enabled:

• For functions.php (a slim version 🙂 )

function remove_js_ver( $src ) {
if( strpos( $src, '?ver=' ) )
$src = remove_query_arg( 'ver', $src );
return $src;
}
add_filter( 'script_loader_src', 'remove_js_ver', 10, 2 );

• For td-speed-booster.php

foreach ($this->style_footer_queue as $style_id => $wp_dependency_object) {
            if (strrpos($wp_dependency_object->src, '?') === false) {
                echo "<link rel='stylesheet' id='" . $style_id . "-css'  href='" . $wp_dependency_object->src . "' type='text/css' media='" . $wp_dependency_object->args . "' />\n";
            } else {
                echo "<link rel='stylesheet' id='" . $style_id . "-css'  href='" . $wp_dependency_object->src . "' type='text/css' media='" . $wp_dependency_object->args . "' />\n";
            }
        }

Good luck and nice/big traffic to all.

All thanks must go to Andrei L. because he provide us this custom work.

Wow!
That was an awesome solution!! That would be a nice “option” to add to the “panel” for that plugin, for those who don’t need the “cache busting” query strings. 🙂

I’ll try the clearing the cache, if not all signs point to it probably just being a problem with my particular phone.

Many thanks Alln

I also checked this on an iphone 4 with iOS 7 and it works properly.
Try to clear your browser cache, maybe this tutorial will help – http://refreshyourcache.com/en/safari-mobile/

Hi

At page’s first load the most recent articles are loaded if the settings used for blocks are made like this. If there is necessary a reload to have the proper content displayed it’s most likely a cache issue.

Thanks!

Hi

Please make sure that the parameters from system status have at least the values indicated in our documentation: https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/ also try to deactivate all plugins except Visual Composer, clear all caches then test again.
If the problem persist check browser’s console while you’re saving the settings. If the settings cannot be saved there shroud be an 403 or 404 error which refers at admin-ajax.php file.
Let us know how it goes and if the problem persist please send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com with your login credentials and we will inspect this issue as soon as possible, also include a link to this topic.
