Hi Alin,

Thanks. I followed your advise, disabled Photon and also removed our CDN.
I also removed the custom CSS I used to fix the issue. Also regenerated all thumbnails.

To no avail. The grey border persists (it looks even worse now) and the top grid is broken.

What am I missing? I’m using the system out-of-the-box!

Hi

Inspecting your website with browser’s developer tool I’ve noticed that a few containers are not displayed correct: http://screencast.com/t/td4hJoSrhttp://screencast.com/t/JyKDWbfY1k Please make sure you followed the above instructions and if you still have this issues do a clean update, meaning the we recommend to delete the old theme files, including the plugins from theme’s path, clear all caches, deactivate all others plugins that you have it installed, purge cdn files then follow our documentation in order to install the theme again: https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-wordpress/

Thanks!

Hi,

For the grey border on images, please disable Jetpack Photon feature as the theme works based on the same system (creates and serves/uses thumbnails for each uploaded image). We don’t recommend using that photon module as it tends to create issues sometimes so we suggest you disable it. Or if you use CDN try to disable it.
All the issues related to the thumbs on Big Grid or other blocks/modules should be solved if you disable this feature and regenerate thumbnails – https://forum.tagdiv.com/using-the-theme-with-existing-content/

Thanks!

Hi,

You can easily create a shop page like the demo. For top image and text we use a text block – http://screencast.com/t/R39kDYhIkmYf For Featured and Best Selling products you can use these elements using Visual Composer pagebuilder – http://screencast.com/t/1lBQyrrl
On the demo page we use the shortcodes of these blocks in a Text Block so you will have the ability to add also title – http://screencast.com/t/zjkzGCbEBcDn
The page is set as Shop page in Woocommerce settings – http://screencast.com/t/kiRI7UqFh5G
I will provide the entire content of the shop page from demo, maybe it will help you more – http://screencast.com/t/Q8DbI5tOu28http://pastebin.com/1m2KzRw5

I am using maxcdn with w3 total cache. When I enable CDN icons generated by newspaper font are not apperaring, what am I missing?

Normally people don’t update their posts but if anyone is having this error. It is likely due to whatever CDN you’re using. For example, Cloudflare offers an option for you to Auto Minify javascript, css, and html. To solve this problem, simple deactivate the Auto Minifying of Javascript under the speed tab.

Thank you BogDan for your help!

Best of luck.

Hello,

Please try to disable all your plugins except visual composer, clear your cache and purge CDN if you use it. If the problem is still there, check your system status to see if any of the parameters there need to be adjusted: http://screencast.com/t/yrsLFrV3M1q. You can follow this tutorial: https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/
Let us know how it goes.

Thanks.

Hello Carly,

I set your Instagram account on my counter and your followers get picked up: http://screencast.com/t/mXLCiU694
Please clear your cache and purge CDN files if you use it. If it doesn’t work, you can try to disable all other plugins except visual composer and social counter and check it again.

Let us know how it goes!
Thanks.

Hi

I’ve noticed that you have a good score regarding the page speed, and adding others improvements could be a bit tricky as WordPress it has its limits.
Try using cloudflare CDN, also you can use MySQL query cache if is available on your server. If you want to maximize your site performance please consider hiring a freelancer to help you with that is it’s a complex which require lots of customizations and we can’t offer speed customization services at the moment.

Thanks for the message!

Hello,

Nothing happens for no reason at all, our theme does not delete images from your website. Please try to provide more details to your problem. Maybe you installed a plugin or made some customizations. If the problem reappears you can try to disable your plugins except visual composer, clear your cache and purge CDN files if you use it.
Based on what you wrote, we cannot know what caused the problem.

@Schuchi

I have checked your website and images seem to display fine: http://screencast.com/t/MIKlEtXdmrFhttp://screencast.com/t/jcDV79FNFpTN
Let us know if the problem reappears.

Thank you!

Hi,

I just installed Newspaper theme in my website, PanduanSaya.com. Just finish my edits but I found out a few things not working properly:

1. My mega menu not showing sub-categories. I followed the tutorial but can’t get it to work
2. My ajax filtering or pagination in block (homepage) not working properly. I clicked the next/previous, but somehow it takes to the top of website, and the ajax does not change the page that it should be – it just takes you to the top of the website.
3. My news sticker also having the same problem like ajax filtering in block.

Here are few of my settings, hope it helps:
– I disable lazy load, because it causing my images not showing
– I tried optimized pre-loading in mega menu preload, not working
– page attribute for my homepage (visual composer) is default template
– I use Incapsula CDN

Can anyone suggest me what else do I still need to do to get some decent site load time? I’ve enabled caching, CloudFlare CDN, Gzip compression and even minification. But still Gtmetrix is giving this result: https://gtmetrix.com/reports/thetrendzjournal.com/4zlny0Hm

I bet theme is very heavy that’s why this is happening because I’m running on Inmotion Business VPS with SSDs. So, the server could not cause any issue.

Site: thetrendzjournal.com

Please suggest me what should I do.

You could mark all the errors as fixed in your search console and see if they re-occur. Might have been caching issue, or CDN issue, or some plugin creating ghost pages.

simchris

Well, theme doesn’t automatically change your pages.

So, might be issue with any auto-updates you have running, or issue with CDN, etc.

Hopefully you installed the Akismet update if you’re using that with comments turned on, as that is major security patch announced overnight.

Theme doesn’t have security issues, but plugins might that you’re using.

REMINDER:
both Visual Composer needed to be updated last week — major security flaw.
AND the Akismet plugin need to be updated for major security flaw.

Site can be hacked from both of those.

Hmmm…. stuff shouldn’t just “disappear” unless you have a server issue where it’s timing out loading images; CDN issues, caching issue, or not enough memory for WP.

possible issues:

If you’re using a CDN, you need to set that up properly.

If you’re using local site caching, try clearing cache.

Also, perhaps try increasing default memory in the wp-config.php file from the default 40MB to 96MB, or 128MB if your host allows that.

check to see if the images are still there in folder via FTP or not;
check to see if you exceeded your hosting storage space;
clear all caching;
if using a CDN, ensure the CDN is not “down” or timing out — and/or you didn’t exceed storage allocation.

Those would be best places to start.

Hi,

I have checked your site and you have many errors regarding your images in the console – http://screencast.com/t/W4cosQNfpxglhttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_HTTP_status_codes#5xx_Server_Error
This is not related to the lazy load feature, you use CDN and the images are not delivered from your CDN server. Please check your CDN configuration.

Thanks!

Hi,

Please make sure you update the theme properly via ftp, make sure all the files were uploaded. Then clear cache and purge your files if you use CDN and also disable all the plugins except of Visual Composer and check if you still have this issue. Also disable any css/js minification.
The latest version of Visual Composer was tested with the theme and we did not found any issues.

Thanks!

Hello,
I followed your last council and it appears that it was my cache plugin that was the problem with my theme NewsMag. I do not know what I should do now. I use WP Rocket, Keycdn.
Thank you

Make sure you change the “name” of the theme in the style.css file, which will also appear in the appearance > themes panel. Basically you might do:

a) change theme folder /Newspaper/ >> /mysitename/ (be sure not to name same as a category or post!)
b) in your style.css, change the “name” of the theme (which populates the appearance data)

(might have to ‘reselect’ the new theme name in appearance > settings — might delete some settings, be sure to backup!!)

c) use something like mod_pagespeed or other system which removes all “comments” from HTML (plugin, CDN, etc.)
d) view page source in text editor, do search for old theme name
e) clear all caching on server/CDN, browser, if not done so already

That would change the “basic” name of the theme in the HTML to your new theme name.

Again, this won’t change the name of modules, plugins (e.g., speedbooster, td social plugin, etc.), or CSS elements with “td_classname” …

However it would fix things like

/wp-content/themes/mynewname/style.css

to show /mynewname/ in place of orig theme name.

Did you upload the entire theme folder over the old one; or did you properly delete old theme folder then upload the new theme — that is common issue. Also be sure to delete cache on server/CDN as applicable and clear your own cache in browser for any java issues.

Not sure that is cause; but worth a try! 🙂
