I just checked this situation and for me in Newspaper v12.6.2 is working without problems – https://i.imgur.com/vYXKdAK.jpg it is possible to have some extra plugin or child theme that is interfering with the theme options.
If the problem is still persisting after you checked this, then please make a full backup for the website and please contact us via email and provide temporary wp-admin access to investigate the problem.

Have you checked for a plugin conflict? Please deactivate ALL plugins except tagDiv ones; also, if you are using a child theme or cache plugin, deactivate them, clear all cache, and try again.

Hi, I checked the screenshots and those errors appears because there is another plugin that needs to be installed, the tadiv Standard pack, please install that plugin from Newspaper > plugin (most of the time those problems are crated by child theme or extra plugins, sometimes it is better to disable them until the theme update is made).
Also, the standard template can be imported from the cloud and adjusted using tagDiv Composer after your needs.
Now all those that we made are 100% edited using the tagDiv Composer and cloud templates.

“How come that the site does not display thumbs but it displays original images, keeping their aspect ratio? Is that a bug?” – normally this can be done if the images are not uploaded using the WordPress media and this is working like this because there are users that prefer to use the original image and not a thumb.
By default if the module block thumb is enabled in the theme panel – https://i.imgur.com/lZgC97S.png and the image is uploaded using media or is regenerated using a plugin a thumb for that module will be made.
Now if there is also a problem with media images, then indeed it is possible to be something interfering, most of the time it is a plugin or some custom code in a child theme.

If you have in the child theme only those files, then the layout of the website should not be affected when you update the theme, but it is possible that some theme plugins to not be installed/updated during the theme update. Also, Sometimes it is a good practice to set the main theme during the theme update and only after that to set the child theme to be sure that there is no function interfering with the theme.

Hi davidglass, indeed using that plugin with cloud template is not a good option since you need to do those edits after each theme update (this plugin is working ok with standard template that can be set in a child theme).

Hello,
Using the Newsmag theme this will not be easy to be done, you need to edit a template in child theme or use custom css. For this the Newspaper theme was a perfect choose because it’s allow you to edit the header and footer after your needs in tagDiv Composer.

Can you please let me know header style you are using and if that logo is the same one from the example link, if not we’ll need to use the logo you have to make it look nice.

You need to use a cloud template to be able to edit with tagdiv Composer. I see that the featured image is not displayed for each language. Do you still use the child theme? Maybe you need to update.

Yes, there is a code that interferes, but unfortunately, we don’t know exactly. We can take a look, but we don’t promise to find a solution, maybe it’s because of the child theme.
