Hi,

If you would like the logo to stretch to the edges of the screen, you need to upload a bigger logo image. The current header style you are using does not have a limit for the image. You can use any size you want, and it will be displayed.
Also it is worth mentioning that when a background color or image is used, the website layout becomes boxed
https://forum.tagdiv.com/background-introduction/
At the moment you have a white background color, so a full logo will be displayed like this example (boxed)
https://www.screencast.com/t/6UPrVOC4pjVr
Removing the background color or stretching the header logo space with the options in the theme panel
https://www.screencast.com/t/gHfCKSNkVjwM
Will display the logo in full width like this
https://www.screencast.com/t/ouaeFnIWA
So you just need to create and use a bigger logo image, depending on your preferences.
There are dedicated custom code sections in the theme panel, that you can use to further customize the website. Or enter the code directly in the theme main stylesheet. A child theme can be used as well for this purpose.
You also need to create a homepage using the composer and set it

Hi,

You can simply use the default page template as the title and breadcrumbs will not show up once you use the page builder. If you do not use the page builder on the page, then it will show the title and breadcrumbs. Simply press the button to edit the page with tagdiv composer and you do not need to add anything with the builder, just press save and exit. The title and breadcrumb should go away.

Thank you!

Hello,

you can create any homepage design including the one on categories in the tagdiv composer. The process is very easy as it’s a front-end editor: https://forum.tagdiv.com/tagdiv-composer-tutorial/
I’m not sure what category settings you want applied to your posts though. Category settings are meant for categories not posts. Please provide more details to what you want to achieve.

Thanks.

Hi,

There should not be any problems in creating a sidebar. Simply split the row the way you want, like this example
https://www.screencast.com/t/v3CnaGwCe
You can use a Widget element to display a sidebar from your existing ones
https://www.screencast.com/t/ZOSv1yckyx
That is the case for Visual composer as well
https://www.screencast.com/t/gkOha5B2
If you have problems creating a layout like this, some useful screenshots could be very helpful. Also if you are using Visual composer try deactivating the tagDiv composer. In some cases having both these editors active may create some issues like this.

Thanks

Hello,

If you want to add borders and spacing to blocks and modules, please note you can add them in the tagdiv composer in the css editor box but only exterior borders can be added. You cannot create a grid around the posts as mentioned. It can only be done with custom css. Unfortunately there is no simple solution for it.

Thank you!

Homepage > Block > Pagination > Numbers?
Is there any way to display page numbers instead of just next and previous arrows?
Will this be implemented?

“pagebuilder + latest articles + pagination” does not work because if you add any blocks then “pagebuilder + latest articles + pagination” is pushed down. It also doesn’t work because if you click on any of the page numbers it displays a completely different page than what you had on page one.

I installed xcache (php opcode).
Also I filtered internal dummy connections so they don’t reach wordpress (.htaccess)

Since these two changes, the behavior of server has been improoved dramatically.

My aim is to update PHP to version 5.6, but I read that is not possible on Centos.
Also, I am not really sure about it as our portal is live with about 20000 users / day.

I guess it will happen one day, after the next WP update …
Since v4.12 is the last version of Visual composer before version 5.0, does it worth to update? Or I will have to update theme and PHP version too ?

Am asking as am not quiet sure and I don’t want to brake things.
Apart that, if you update theme, then you have to use page builder instead of VC.
So what’s the point of updating VC at the first place?

any help will be much apreciated

I’m having no luck getting td_composer plugin to work on my site.

Problem: Once plugin is activated, I can’t access backend of my site – page just won’t load. After pages stalls, I can’t access any pages on my site frontend or backend until I delete td_composer, clear cache, and completely restart browser.

Could this have something to do with it being a multi site install of wordpress? I very much want to transition to the new composer, but after two days of trying everything already suggested, I don’t know how much more time and energy I can expend.

Steps taken:

  • Disabled all plugins
  • Reinstalled entire theme
  • Ensure System Status meets requirements
  • Please help! Can I send login credentials?

Hi, problem was you td-composer. It was interfering with visual composer. Would you maybe be so kind and check overall website lodaing speed? It is a bit slower after update to all latest versions of wordpress and your latest theme. Regards

How do I add a sidebar to a page? Whenever I try and add a widget section to one of two columns in visual composer, it makes the widget take an entire row to itself and then the other column below it. I need these side by side as it’s for a shop page. Please advise how to do this, there is no option to include a sidebar on the page.

    Thanks

    Hi,

First please check the theme system status and make modifications to the parameters mentioned in this guide, if necessary
    https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/
Then check if the composer is loading properly. If it still does not work, try deactivating all your plugins except Visual composer, clear any caching installed and check again.
Please let us know if you are still having problems after trying these suggestions.

    Thanks

The latest version of VC which is tested and recommended is 5.1.1 but it has not been tested in newspaper 7. You can however update the theme to the latest version and update VC along with it, disable tagdiv composer and change the php version.
    Thanks.

Does Revolution Slider work in tagDiv Composer? When I add Revolution Slider in tagDiv Composer, the area in tagDiv Composer shows a processing icon but nothing happens. I am unable to select a saved slider. Check http://imgur.com/a/M1W6C

You can create the pages in a sub-domain with no pressure involved. Then simply move the pages over to the live site once you are done. This way you will not lose any data and can work stress free on your tagdiv composer skills and implementation.

    Thanks.

hmmmm, am afraid upgrading the theme to the latest version is not an option at the moment.
However, I will consider of updating the visual composer. I think 4.2.1 is a bit old, dont you think? What is the last version before page builder?

    Hi,

I believe you are referring to the ajax filter that is displayed on the blocks
    https://www.screencast.com/t/9iDma2YWaD
By default this will display all your categories, ordered alphabetically. To customize this section, you must edit the block in question with the composer. In the block settings you can specify which categories you want to be displayed or to be excluded, based on their Id’s
    https://www.screencast.com/t/CsdkGxhAMm
Here is a guide if you wan to know more about finding the category Id
    http://www.wpbeginner.com/beginners-guide/how-to-find-post-category-tag-comments-or-user-id-in-wordpress/
The categories you enter will be displayed exactly in that order. You can also remove or modify the “All” text if you want to
    https://www.screencast.com/t/E0Uj8JjJ02
All the available block settings and options are mentioned in this tutorial

    Hello,
The main reasons for a high cpu usage has always been Visual composer. That is why in our current theme version we launched our own page builder/front-end editor which is much lighter on the cpu. Lots of complex elements in visual composer quickly increase the cpu usage. Try to update your theme to the latest version but keep in mind you will have to re-create your pages using the new page builder as keeping both plugins active at the same time will not work properly, neither will editing a page with the new page builder which was previously created with visual composer.

Also you after you update you can increse the php version to 7.1 and check the proper memory allocation: https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/

    I hope this helps.
    Thanks.

    Hello Chris217,

Please notice that Visual Composer has a lot of Add-on but none of them are not tested with our theme, sorry! Also, if you want to have access to them you should buy them because our version of Visual Composer does not contain these, sorry! Our Visual Composer is a special plugin which has integrate and adapt with our theme and also, it is no required to pay for it because it will come bundled with our theme packet. If you want to display any levels in our theme and also, if you want to install any others untested plugins to develop your project and if you will get any errors in the theme, notice that we cannot help you in this case because we cannot provide support for untested plugins.

    Thanks for your understanding!

Try setting the row like this in the backend

    This should be the result

Is there any specific reccomendation / tip to follow when launching the update from Newspaper 7 to 8 ?
I am using 7.8.1 right now.

Are the theme panel settings correctly migrated in their entirety? Is there anything do I have to setup again once the theme is upgraded?
Do I have to regen thumbnails?
Is Newspaper 8 not compatibile with wide known plugins such as Really Simple SSL ? Siteground cache? CF7 ? Memberpress ? WordPress Download Manager Pro? Yoast SEO?

    Thank you very much.

    Hi,

    1. That is an author box element, placed in the sidebar. Please go to Appearance->Widgets and customize the sidebar elements the way you want.
The author box will display the profile information of the corresponding user Id entered
    https://www.screencast.com/t/Bx9pxpvpZnZp
This Id can be found in different ways. Please follow this tutorial for more information about this, and also a forum topic
    http://www.wpbeginner.com/beginners-guide/how-to-find-post-category-tag-comments-or-user-id-in-wordpress/
    https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/author-box-5/

    2. All the elements in the footer can be customized as well. The Instagram section can be disabled or customized here
    https://www.screencast.com/t/WuUfvAGqTcT
The footer template can be changed in the Footer settings
    https://www.screencast.com/t/twMtQVnpoqX
    https://forum.tagdiv.com/footer-templates/
Some footer templates come with predefined content. This cannot be edited, you can only add content along the existing one. Other templates are blank, and depend on the content you enter in the footer sections.

    3. If you activated the mobile theme (which is an optional plugin) then a predefined layout will be displayed for the homepage, post page etc. If you would like to display the same content from desktop on mobile devices, simply deactivate the mobile theme plugin. The theme is fully responsive and will adapt for best results.
More about the mobile theme here
    https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-mobile-theme/

    4. If you could provide more details about this it would be very helpful. That way we can better understand what exactly is not working for you with the menu. When the mobile theme is active you will have to set a different menu in the mobile theme section (appears when the plugin is active) of the theme panel
    https://www.screencast.com/t/z0SfQG6Bp
Menus on mobile are limited to drop-down menu style, there cannot be mega-menus on mobile.

    5. You can edit the homepage with the tagDiv composer and add the content you want. This demo features the Revolution slider on top of the page, and a Latest articles section
    https://forum.tagdiv.com/page-templates-2/
The sidebar can be edited in the widgets section.
If you have a different problem please provide more details about it.

    6. As it can be seen in the live demo, there are no sharing buttons near the slider
    https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper_blog_baby/
Maybe those belong to a plugin that you have installed.

    7. You could choose a different style for the Social counter
    https://forum.tagdiv.com/social-counter-styles-on-newspaper/

    Thanks

    Hello Zuzana,

In the past, that page has been creating with Visual Composer and now do you want to edit it with TD Composer? Please notice that we do not recommend doing this thing and also, the plugin will not work as expected. Please consult the following topic here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/visual-composer-tagdiv-composer-transition/ regarding on what you should make the transitions between these page builders and then, for more information about how you can use our Page Builder, please check here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/tagdiv-composer-tutorial/

    Thanks for your understanding!

    Hello,

In the current version we have introduced our own page builder which will not work along side visual composer. Please do not use both page builders at the same time. Please choose one or the other. If you choose the tagdiv composer (recommended choice) you will have to re-create your pages in the tagdiv composer. that means creating a new page and adding new elements to it, not editing your old pages.
You can use this guide to learn how to use the page builder: https://forum.tagdiv.com/tagdiv-composer-tutorial/
If you want to use visual composer, keep in mind we do not plan to add any new elements to it. Any future updates and development will be based on the tagdiv composer. Visual composer will still get updates but it will not receive any new element.

    Thank you!

    Hello arolee,

You could try to manually upload the tagDiv Composer editor in the plugins folder. Simply unzip the plugin and upload it to the plugins folder in your WordPress installation by FTP. You can find more useful related information on this topic ->>

    Hope this helps!

I’am not sure, it seems since I’ve updated my WordPress to newest version (or because of any other reason) my visual composer doesn’t work any more. I mean backend editor? So I cannot edit pages. It looks like it is trying to load up content but without result.I can still operate classic mode. Plugins looks updated. Any suggestions, please? best JP
