Hi, I have changed the sidebar width on the homepage (a static page on my website) to make it thinner using Visual composer.
Is there a way to make change the size of the sidebar to 3/4 + 1/4 everywhere it appears on site at once?
The sidebar also appears on the post pages as well as the categories page, but it is still the original size everywhere except the homepage.
Please explain me how to insert that “trending now” space and configure it to appear with a certain text in every post and pages of my website. I don’t understand absolutely anything that I read in the forum. All that insert code … use “visual composer”, etc … I don’t understand 🙁
Do you have a video that explains more clearly, step by step, how is the procedure?
I remain pending your response, thank you.
Help! My installation is going crazy!
I had the “Newspaper -> News Magazine” installed and it was working fine. I then started to play around with other themes and installed the “Newspaper -> Local News” theme. For some stange reason article posts are being inserted automatically into my database! I don’t know how! I have reverted back to “Newspaper -> News Magazine”. I haven’t got any feeds installed to import articles. I haven’t set up any rss import feeds. I only have “tagdiv mobile theme”, “tagdiv social counter”, and “wpbakery visual composer” plugins installed.
What is going on???
Regards,
Neil.
OK — WOW …
Got it figured out now — TagDiv composer conflicts with Visual Composer!! I turned each plugin and and off individually, checking each time my actual site. Nothing changed the layout until I got down to tagdiv composer!!! When I turned that on, the layout broke!!!
So I need Visual Composer on, but not tagdiv composer. I first thought they were the same, then figured having both wouldn’t matter…but it does. TagDiv composer breaks the Visual Composer layout!!!
You may wanna fix that since they both come from you…or add a warning to both installs to use just one or the other…or not to use tagdiv composer ever for themes requiring visual composer.
Thanks
Robert

Ooops…I apologize. As you know I have had two strokes in the last few years and it is hard to remember everything. I just remembered I have to turn Visual Compose on in the Newspaper theme menu…not the plugins menu. So I did that just now and it fixed everything as far as I can see. You may want to take a quick look around to make sure I didn’t overlook something but I think it’s OK now. I guess that it’s critical, apparently, to have Visual Composer turned on always and forever!?!
Your admin password will still be good for a day or so. Let me know when I can delete it please.
Many thanks,
Robert

I disabled all plugins, but don’t see visual composer in the list. All I see is a plugin called TD Composer. I left that one on just to check but no change. I turned it off and no change. Can’t seem to find Visual Composer even with a search in the new plugins page.
Should we check this again after installing Visual Composer…and where can I find Visual Composer?
I am sending you separately a new administrator login:

Hello,
I just tested the visual composer grid builder with seo yoast and there was no issue present. Please disable all other plugins except visual composer and seo yoast, clear cache and reset cdn files. Then test again.
Let us know how it goes.
Thank you!

Hello,
The best thing to do when updating your theme from version 4 is to delete your old theme and simply install the new one. Please make sure you do a back-up before. Then you need to run the update script as suggested here: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/
Make sure you update the plugins as well. Some parts of your website will need to be recreated as elements became deprecated in visual composer so it will require a bit of work on your side.
Sorry for the inconvenience but this is the case when updating from newspaper 4. The new version of our theme was built from scratch so it will be like switching to a new theme (sort of, as we tried to keep compatibility between the 2 as much as possible)
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Hello,
Please try to restore the theme to it;s default state. You do not need any plugin for the theme to be responsive. Your site looks nothing like our theme demo. You altered the theme functionality so please restore it to the theme defaults and then test responsiveness again. Our theme is responsive as anyone on this forum can confirm.
Please redo any customization, disable all plugins except visual composer, clear cache and reset cdn files if you use it. Then test responsiveness again. You can create a sub-domain for tests and install wp and the theme there to see how the theme should look in it;s default unaltered state. It should look exactly like this: http://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/
Thank you!
Hello,
This looks like a caching issue related to the mobile theme. Please disable the mobile theme plugin and test again. We only recommend wp super cache and these settings: https://forum.tagdiv.com/cache-plugin-install-and-configure/ and for cdn: https://forum.tagdiv.com/cloudflare-cdn/
Also please cotact your host and ask if there is any host related cache as that can influence the theme as well.
Plugins can also cause these issues so please disable all plugins except visual composer, clear cache and rest cdn files if you use it.
If you use a child theme, switch to the main theme to test the posts again.
Thank you!
Hi,
You have to update your version of visual composer. That is why you see the error. You are trying to install a version of VC that is not supported anymore. Please disable your plugin and delete files from the WP plugins section and then simply install the plugin from here: http://screencast.com/t/CpIJPmgjil91
Thank you!
Hello mats_,
I have notice that you are using the 1/4+1/4+1/4+1/4 layout from Visual Composer, as I can saw in your screenshot. Please notice that this type of layout is not tested with our theme and we cannot say for sure if it will work 100% as expected with the theme and also, we cannot offer support for this. Please consult our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-use-visual-composer/ and there you will see how you can use the Visual Composer.
Thanks for your understanding!
Hello Miranda,
The visual composer activation message appears on all sites that use visual composer, not matter the theme or domain. In our case you must ignore this message as visual composer does not require activation whe it;s provided in the theme package. The plugin authors cannot verify this though so they could not remove the message for this particular case. Please read this guide: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-visual-composer-plugin/
Thank you!
Hello m0re,
Do you are using the Visual Composer for posts? In this case, you should use the same code, like this ->
.td-pb-span4 .td_block_8 .td_module_7 .td-post-date{
display:none;
}
The results ->http://screencast.com/t/xkTCyVLo7Od
Hope this helps!
Thaks for the message!
Hello geospatialmedia,
I suppose that you have some problem with your theme install. Please ensure that you are using the latest version of it which is Newsmag 3.2 and also, the latest version of required plugins which come bundled with the theme packet (Visual Composer 4.12.1 and Social Counter 4.1). Please ensure that you have installed all of these, clear all your caches, purge CDN files if you are using the CDN system and check the results. Your Theme panel->Ads Section should look like this -> http://screencast.com/t/x2NrdQtnQnYc If you are using some untested plugins, please try to disable all of these and install only the plugins that come bundled with the theme and rule out any conflicting plugins.
Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!
So, if your problem is still there after theme update, please send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com with your log-in information (wp-admin) so we can further inspect it closer your setup page. Also, please provide there the link to this topic so we can easily identify you.
Thanks for the message!
Hi, I am using Visual composer to build the site. I have a simple design (http://wordpress-7749-67064-181310.cloudwaysapps.com) I want to expand a bit the middle content so the gab between the left and right widget are like 2px or 5px apart.
is this possible?
Catalin,
Actually, I don’t understand at all. And, I don’t think you understood my question either.
I am not using the mobile theme. I deactivated it, when it did not work, either. What I am saying is that the newspaper theme is not responsive on my blog, at all. I cannot get it to show blog posts on a mobile device (with or without the mobile theme.)
When I setup the newspaper theme, when customizing it, I selected static post, then selected “Home” for front page. For post page, I selected “blog”.
With visual composer, I edited the page called “home.” Do I have to edit also the page called “blog”? I think this is the problem.
Somehow mobile devices are not able to read the “blog” posts.
Finally, I’ve been reading through the forum, and I notice you tend to give the same answers over and over again, without really trying to understand the issue at hand. I hope you’ll take the time here, to help me figure out what is wrong, and how to fix it.
I have a page with 4 Widgets next to each other, I use Visual Composer to display these widgets:
http://www.screencast.com/t/o1JKdMUL
The page works perfect on Desktop, Mobile and Tablet Landscape, but on Tablet Portrait the widgets are getting too small. I tried to change the responsive options for Tablet Portrait to display just 1 or 2 widgets next to each other (inherit from mobile), but this doesn’t seem to work. Nothing changed.
Am I doing something wrong or is this not possible?
I updated mt theme and visiual compser just in case but still i have a problem.
my theme v7.5
visual composer 4.12.1
at the moment.
Good afternoon
I bought your theme last year for a project called “correiodoporto.com” … Later I asked you if you could use the same theme in the same project that was this time a store “store.correiodoporto.com”
You said yes because it belonged to the same project.
But now in “store.correiodoporto.com” asks to activate the visual composer.
I activated the theme and everything but that message appears.
Sincerely
Helder Miranda
Hi,
I’ve provided details of the issue above – can you specify exactly what you need? As I said, please send me an email / PM and I’ll provide you with the test website URL so you can see for yourself. I’ve already worked back through disabling plugins with no effect – besides this seems pretty obviously locked to Visual Composer’s Jquery functions.
Either way – mail me, I’ll give you access.
Thanks
Hi,
Unfortunately I cannot know how you filtered the posts so I cannot say for sure if this is what you filtered or if it’s an issue. I cannot see any filters from the front-end. Please try to disable all plugins except visual composer, clear cache and reset cdn files if you use it.
For caching we only recommend wp super cache and these settings: https://forum.tagdiv.com/cache-plugin-install-and-configure/ if you want to use a cdn server,m we suggest these settings: https://forum.tagdiv.com/cloudflare-cdn/
Let us know if you still have trouble with this.
Thank you!
