Hi
You can try to use a text box and paste the shortcode from Visual Composer there: http://screencast.com/t/fcMaU0rtH Also you can try a 2/3+1/3 layout on pages: http://screencast.com/t/xejw9KXFTDW6 Note that some of theme’s may not be properly displayed using tabs in sidebar as there is an additional margin added. Also we didn’t tested this element in sidebar with theme’s blocks and we can’t guarantee that it will work perfectly fine.
Thanks!
My fontawesome icons are not showing correctly. They worked perfectly for months but now have disappeared – when referring to the numbers, not the icons by name. So for example, this is in my CSS code:
#ticketprice h2:before {
content: ‘\f145’;
font-family: ‘FontAwesome’;
color: #FFF;
padding-right: 10px;
font-size: 1.6em;
The icon (again, this worked perfectly for months) is now just showing as a small missing square and not the fa fa-ticket it’s supposed to be. It’s not the code – it is that somewhere a file is now missing. Please don’t try and troubleshoot the CSS (when referring to icons in CSS, it works better with the number file, not the fa fa-ticket)…but tell me where I can find/add the file that should make this work? For the record, I can add fa fa-ticket via Visual Composer and that does work….but I need to get this specific code to work. I let some idiot developers help me troubleshoot something last night and they took down my entire site. I’m trying to put it back together. Thank you.
Loving the Newspaper 7 Theme. To ‘upgrade’ the free copy of visual composer that came with the theme, I purchased the copy of visual composer but am having trouble installing it because wp tells me that it is already active.
How do I install the ‘full’ version?
I’ve been working with the Newspaper theme with a Magazine-front page. I added a Revolution slider at the top with a stock ticker widget (http://tdhedge.meta-morphos.es/). I added a few lines of CSS to adjust the margins of the slider, but otherwise used settings available within the Visual Composer and Theme Panel. The home page displays fine on my desktop monitor, but it’s jumbled when I view it on a mobile phone. It in fact crashes the Safari mobile browser 50% of the time.
To troubleshoot the problem I installed a new WP with new a demo install of Newspaper and tried to make only the most minimal adjustments to arrive at a similar design result. This included the Revolution slider but not the stock ticker widget in the right column.
The second build (http://newstest.meta-morphos.es/) has a slightly better result, but still doesn’t appear to be smoothly responsive. Could someone view my test pages and provide some suggestions for a fix?
The primary change from stock version of the Newspaper theme was a Revolution slider at 200px high, which replaced the built-in slider on the Magazine home page.
Is there an ideal combination of settings on the Revo slider, that make it most friendly to the adjustments required when the site is viewed in responsive mobile phone mode?
Thank you
How can I change the footer to full width?
And It is possible to set a full width image in visual composer?
Hi @Chris, at least on Newspaper 7.4, is impossible to remove the query string with conventional functions for all resources.
Remain untouched: fonts, js_composer.min.css & the main style.css
Hi Nano,
I made a test with Google PSI (with your web) and throws 65/89
You have 5 .css resources that produce an render blocking, 4 of them become from default theme:
– … /facebook-login.css…
– /js_composer.min.css…
– /css?family=Roboto…..
– css?family=Radley….
and this one became from a third plugin: /facebook-login.css
You are using some rules in functions.php that remove query strings from static resources or some plugin that remove them???
I ask you because I see that all other resource are without query strings, and this 5 problematic have them.
Hey nairolf,
After referring to your comment and the link provided, finally, I successfully activated the speed booster plugin and successfully moved all .JS files in the footer.
In my previous attempt, I was not able to find the correct CSS and JS ID, but this I found it. Reason?
Just discovered the real issue behind why we usually are not able to find the correct .js and .css id for adding it to the td-speed-booster.php and the issue was: I was copying text from the wrong location.
Like me, We all usually copy the “Registered .JS and Registered .CSS code” that appear on the top of the WordPress admin page where we have just added the “code” in functions.php code.
Actually, it displays only those .CSS and .JS codes that loads under WordPress Admin Dashboard panel. To find the actual codes, you must visit either your homepage or any post and then copy the “Registered .JS and Registered .CSS ” file into a text.
But in the case of CSS files, Google Pagespeed still showing various .CSS files
https://domain.com/…in/public/css/facebook-login.css?ver=7.3
https://fonts.googleapis.com/…0,700|Amiri:400,700|Lora:400,700&ver=7.3
https://fonts.googleapis.com/…italic,700,900,500italic,400,300&ver=7.3
https://domain.com/…r/assets/css/js_composer.min.css?ver=7.3
https://domain.com/…ntent/themes/Newspaper/style.css?ver=7.3
Though when I check the “View Source” of my post on Google Chrome, I can see these CSS moving from top to footer ( checked with and without adding the code and noticed the difference) , it’s just that it’s not appearing on Google Pagespeed result. Of course, I cleared all kind of Cache ( Super Cache+ Cloudflare) before checking it, but it’s not reflecting on Google Pagespeed result.
Only one .JS file still appears o some of the post, ie:
http://domain.com/wp-content/plugins/akismet/_inc/form.js
Do you know ID for Akismet so that I can attempt to move it too?
One more important thing- Under some thread, somebody mentioned to search for CSS ID using “View Source” page on Google Chrome but the ID that appears on this page like :
<link rel='stylesheet' id='facebook-login-css' href='http://domain.com/wp-content/plugins/wp-facebook-login/public/css/facebook-login.css' type='text/css' media='all' />
<link rel='stylesheet' id='google-fonts-style-css' href='http://fonts.googleapis.com/css?
These IDs contain “-css” at the end but it doesn’t work . Actually ID as found using this method ( Point 5.2) , doesn’t contain -css in the ID and it works well.
So, one should use ‘google-fonts-style’ as CSS ID not ‘google-fonts-style-css’
Can you tell me why it’snot displaying on Google Pagespeed? Is there something else that I need to look on?
Thank you.
PS: I am planning to remove https://wordpress.org/plugins/host-analyticsjs-local/ plugin. Don’t know if it’s the reason behind low traffic

Hi again Katie,
About that message from Visual Composer: completely get rid of them, very soon tagDiv are going to do something to inform new users about that.
You and all of us we are using a copy from Visual Composer, with every update tagDiv also updated the plugin to the current version but in some case this plugin is updated more often, that’s why you receive that notification.
Don’t worry, in the next update of theme you’ll have that version.
Never use Envato Toolkit or other tool, search in this forum how make update through FTP

Hello everybody!
As the title says i can’t embed this video particulary in newspaper theme, neither in texts, visual composer video spaces etc.
This is a link:
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance
Thanks Andrei and Nairolf. I have followed the instructions and have successfully upgraded Visual Composer to the current version.
However, I’m now seeing a nag message near the top of the screen asking me to ‘activate’ my copy of Visual Composer, even though it is already activated. Please take a look at this screenshot –
http://mediamunch.co.uk/envatotoolkit.jpg
What should I do about that?
Also, will it now be safe to use the Envato Tolkit (in the same screenshot) to update the Newspaper theme automatically or will that overwrite the Visual Composer update I have just installed?
Thanks, Katie
Hello,
I would like to install the last Newspaper version but it is impossible to delete the old one. I have this message instead : “Échec de suppression : Le thème demandé n’existe pas.” –> Fail to delete : the requested theme does not exist.
I updated Visual composer in case it would unlock the situation but still the same message.
Could you please, let me know how to proceed?
here is the blog : wwwlavieduriz.com
Best regards,
Emilie
After purchasing the theme, I tried to install the Visual Composer plugin via Newspaper’s plugin option. However, it wouldn’t work so I manually uploaded the Visual Composer zip file.
When I try to activate the plugin, it’s telling me that they can’t find a license for my purchase. I’ve tried this for the better part of a day.
How can I fix this?
Hi
Thanks @nairolf for your help!
@katie please check our documentation for more detail about the update process for Visual Composer plugin: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-visual-composer-plugin/
Let us know if you need further assistance on this!
Thanks!
Hi K,
This error is from Visual Composer.
¿When you made theme update you upgrade also the Visual Composer plugin bundled with the theme (v4.12.1)?

Hi
You will also need to update the plugins included in theme’s path, Visual Composer and Social Counter need to be update to the versions included in theme’s path. For more detail about the update process for Visual Composer please check this link: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-visual-composer-plugin/
Thanks!
HI
@Sikopp if you still have this issues try to deactivate all plugins except Visual Composer, clear all caches, purge cdn files if you’re using then test the site again.
Let us know ho it goes.
Thanks!
HI
Sorry for the late reply but at first sight I’ve thought the the issue was solved, the thread became very long and and I’ve missed the issue.
You can make the via visible by changing its position, use this css: http://screencast.com/t/N4FMtk5TqU
.wp-caption-text {
position: relative;
}
With regard at Speed Booster check its status here: http://screencast.com/t/elhtgWAXCh The plugin disable itself when an untested plugin is active. I am almost sure the plugin is inactive on your side because otherwise theme’s css would be in footer, Speed Booster move theme’s css by default in footer if it’s active. To keep it always activated comment or delete the indicated lines from td-speed-booster.php: http://screencast.com/t/RZLIOPUNdqh Also make sure that you added the correct ids for the resources which intent to move.
You can test speed booster like this without making any changes in plugin’s code: setup a wp-install only with the theme, Visual Composer and Speed Booster. With this configuration the plugin will be active by default because Visual Composer is on allowed plugins list: http://screencast.com/t/uCFJxcIAlu Check then page’s source and you will find theme’s css in footer. You can also make this test if you deactivate all plugins, except Visual Composer and Speed Booster.
Thanks!
Hello theoritiki,
1)For Visual Composer updating, please check the documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-visual-composer-plugin/
2)Check the Theme panel->Social Networks and there you will have to add the full the link for Social Network with http:// or https://, like this -> http://screencast.com/t/u18UMThA
Thanks for your understanding!
Hello kibiribi,
I have inspected your website and I saw that you are using Mobile Theme. Also, I guess that you have added some Blocks in your Mobile Editor from Visual Composer, right? -> http://screencast.com/t/28COlyfKaVGo and that’s why to appear that shortcodes for your side. If you want to have to the mobile mode the same style with the desktop you simply disable the mobile theme because it will be switched to the general responsive mode. For more information about Mobile Theme, please check here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-mobile-theme/
Thanks for your understanding!
HI
You can use Visual Composer to add elements on your homepage, for more details in this regard please check these links: https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-how-to-use-visual-composer/ – https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-homepage-how-to-build-and-set-it/ – https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-block-settings-tutorial/
You can also import one of our demos on a test install and play a bit with theme’s options to make an overall vision about theme’s features and how they can be used.
Thanks!
Hello Andrei,
There was a setting in the Revo slider that when switched prevented the slides from being up-sized. I’ve played with the page margins and think I have a layout that I’m happy with.
http://tdhedge.meta-morphos.es/
Of all the many settings included in the theme, Visual Composer, and WP, I couldn’t find the setting for the page background color! I used some CSS but would be happy to know where the setting is located. Could you point that out for me?
I like the theme so far and will soon begin to fill out the content.
Thanks for your assistance!

Hello, i am getting familiar with the theme! Please i have 2 questions:
1) I see that visual composer plugin needs update. How can i update it?
2) On top header menu of some demos there are social media icons (facebook, twitter etc). How can i link them to my actual facebook and twitter page? Because when i click on them, it just refreshes the site. Where do i change that so when i click it, i can be directed to facebook and twitter page?
Hi
The theme have similar grids, you can find theme in visual composer page-builder: http://screencast.com/t/uGzrEVlq0mAv You can also have a look on our demo to check them live: http://screencast.com/t/eZXrpzkoLL
Thanks!
Hello Mpasho Support,
First of all, please ensure that you have respected our list of requirements for our product, like this -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/ Also, try to update the theme to the latest version of it and also, all the required plugins which come bundled with the theme, clear all your caches and test it again. Basically, the latest Fatal error is happening due old version of Visual Composer. Try to update it and check the results.
Thanks for your understanding!
