Hi, Im using the newspaper demo, and the section “news” (page) has some blocks, but those blocks also have some kind of menu at the right of the title of the block, for example: title: “Dont Miss”, at the right of this says “business, fashion, featured, gadgets, more”, so, i cant find where to hide or modify this “menu”, i mean, how to include it in the block settings (from the pencil using backend from visual composer) i cant find anything about this in the tab General, Filter, Ajax Filter or Pagination (im talking about the block1 or any ohter settings)

Hi, thanks for the support, i would like to know if anybody can help me to hide those sections, cuz in my main pages (the demo ones) always are visible, but in the backend (visual composer) im not able to see those blocks to delete them.

What device do you use? I also tested this on S4 mini(android) and and did not found any issues.

Yes, that is what it was. I had the api plugin installed but that block was there and when I removed the plugin it was gone. I did not need the api plugin because I am not going to be creating new blocks. I tried the creating stuff with Visual Composer builder and thought it was confusing to me. So I am sticking with just what you guys offer in the updates. I like new features to play with but if I have to spend hours off and on to figure out something, to me it is a lot of time consuming. So I gave up on it.
What I was thinking of doing with the builder was creating a carousel for posts that shows like 4 images of posts and has left and right arrows and every certain time limit it rotates to the left every 4 of the images if you set like 8, 12 and up images and just continues rotating. Nothing in Visual Composer or in theme has that. The carousel in theme is just posts with excerpt and read more button and I don’t want that kind of carousel.
I am going to not worry about this either. Thanks anyways.
I don’t have any plugin that deal with how posts are displayed at all. It is in the block of any of the blocks from the theme does this. I already disabled all plugins except Visual Composer but it still does it but even if I give you access to the site, it still won’t show issue until I don’t post a new post in that category for like up to a month and half time.
It just does it on its own in about month and half time. Last one I posted in that category before yesterday was September 13th. I am just going to leave it and it does it again I will just add a new review. If all else fails that will do it.

We cannot say for sure when the new update will come out. We will implement the new version of visual composer in the near future but unfortunately we have no release date yet. It is hard to say what the future will bring and it is still to early to make assumptions.

Did you tried without any plugins active except Visual Composer? Also clear cache.
The theme doesn’t have an option to block text selection and I suspect that it comes from a plugin. I have checked this also on version 4 of the theme and couldn’t recreate it.

I am another “Frank” but I am experiencing similar problems.
I had VC (full license) installed at my site prior to purchasing Newspaper 6.
We have installed according to the manual (https://forum.tagdiv.com/update-the-visual-composer-plugin-wpbakery/)
We tried several times.
We are constantly having a persistant error message in our dashboard (“Important notice: You have an outdated version of Visual Composer Design Options. It is required to review and save it.”) that we can not get rid of and we are lacking a good number of elements (http://screencast.com/t/B2ExxHCzXQye) from VC. We are missig everything in that screensho after “Masonry Media Grid” (see here: abload.de/img/vctes4b.jpg )
We also tried turning everything off and on again – didn’t help.
For us Visual Composer is only offering the same four Dashboard-options as Frank showed in his screenshot above.
Any ideas?

By pure randum luck while reactivating plugins I hit (in dashboard) “Visual Composer” -> “Settings” and in there by a stroke of sheer luck I accidentaly clicked “user group access rights” -> “Administrator” and guess what? Almost all Newspaper-related items were disabled…
For the persistant Error-Message: that one is still there.
I strpngly suggest adding this to the knowledge-base to check there

I’ve tested this feature on our theme and everything seems to be all right and the image is not showed twice. Please remove all active plugins except Visual Composer, clear all caches and try it again.

You can customize the block in Visual Composer->Block settings like that: http://screencast.com/t/3UEIxozz3 You can filter the posts after more categories. In this filed you have to put the id category, separated by commas: 15,15,25, etc. Here http://screencast.com/t/l3gEvIG5C you can know how to find the category id.

This menu should be accessible from the theme panel. Please try to disable all plugins except visual composer and try again. You can also check your browser inspector’s console and see what causes the error. for example we use chrome: ctrl+shift+i and it will bring up the inspector then click the console tab: http://screencast.com/t/iCqTDEhswH and then click the fonts section and see what error comes up in the console area.
