Hey guys,
I wanted to create something like this clickable product image gallery at the top of the page in the link below. As you can see each product is linked out to a page but I would like to know how I can achieve this look and have the user directed to an Amazon or other affiliate like once each image is clicked
I would like to get a similar look and link the products individually as in the example, the problem I’m having is I’m not sure how to embed something like this into a post.
I have switched to Visual composer on the post page and added the items as a separate image but this leaves a thin line at the right hand side of the items.
I have tried to recreate the same thing with masonry grid but there’s nowhere to add the link to the affiliate product.
Is there a simple way of doing this or maybe a plugin that I can use?
Many thanks
D
Hi,
After I install Visual Composer I get a blank admin page. This is the error:
Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 67108864 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 122880 bytes) in /home/vhosting/t/vhost0066829/domains/masterclassdynamo.nl/htdocs/www/wp-admin/includes/media.php on line 1422
How and where can I resolve this problem in my FTP?
Hi, I tried to add js and css to footer from other plugins following instructions that you gave here: https://forum.tagdiv.com/page-speed-guide/
I followed pictures, and when I enter ”that” code to functions php I get list which I also copy to .txt
Then I run google insights and get information that I simply cant’t find on that list in .txt to get file id.
I found only 1 file id, which I included in that td-speed-booster.php, but when I made test again, there were no changes. I did delete the code that turns td-speed-booster off, so now it is ON all the time.
Please help me resolve this issue.
This is what I get when I enter ‘that’ code to functions.php:

Hi,
1. Using Ad Box(block or/and widget) and set sidebar ad, it will display the same ad. If you want to display a different ad you can paste the code in a custom spot from Theme Panel > Ads and set it in Ad Box block.
2. Unfortunately the theme doesn’t have an option to remove ads on specific page/post. This can be done using custom css or alter the code, but the issue on your site is the classes from body are missing and I need it to use a specific class for your single product page(or all products page).
I think that it is a conflict and a plugin remove those classes from the body, please check – http://screencast.com/t/TvG4K9JVSy it should look something like this – http://screencast.com/t/nSWbEOYJP8 Please deactivate all plugins except of Visual Composer, clear cache and use browser inspector tool(F12 on Chrome) on any of your articles not only product page have this issue and see if they appear, then activate your plugins one by one and see which one cause this issue.
3. Please check also our demo and see if you see the same problem – http://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/td-post-2015-awards-all-of-the-best-and-worst-moments-from-the-show/
Thanks!
Hi,
Glad that you have managed to solve this! Visual Composer can be used also on articles, but we recommend to be used on pages as some issues may appear if it is used on posts. Like you already know it can be used for post content(use columns) not for bottom areas like author box, related articles.. The best way is to create your articles without using pagebuilder(use default Visual Editor) so you can manage sidebar like you wish – https://forum.tagdiv.com/post-formats-for-tinymce/
Thanks!
Hi nherious. Yes, get it working again over the weekend thanks to lots of help from the guys at Jetpack. Traced the problem to the Gravatar Hovercard module of Jetpack that was causing a conflict with Newsmag and/or Visual Composer. Once they eventually pinpointed that, everything went back to normal.
Thanks, stuart.
Hi
@iomichele try to deactivate all plugins, except Visual Composer, like @stuartmasson suggested above clear all caches, purge cdn files if you’re using and test again. Let me know how it goes and if the problem persist please provide a link and i will inspect it closer.
Thanks!
Hi,
I did not found any issues using the latest version of the theme, so please make sure that you test this like Emil suggested without any plugins active, leave just Visual Composer active, clear cache and purge your files if you use CDN, also resave your permalinks.
Also if you still have this issue send an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide wp-access so we can take a look, also paste a link to this topic so we can know who you are and what your issue is.
Thanks!
Hi,
The issue may come from a plugin. Try to disable all plugins, enable only Visual Composer and check again.
Next i suspect some of the html used on your custom page template may be broken, this may cause the admin bar not to display. Check all code again and see if there are any errors.
Thank you!
Hi,
I suspect there’s a js issue, it may come from plugins. Try to disable all plugins, enable only Visual Composer and see if the issue is still there. If it’s gone enable the rest of the plugins one by one until you find the one who causes this issue.
You can also try to disable the image animation in Theme Panel and see if this issue is still there – http://screencast.com/t/uM53rlVz
Thank you!
Hi,
I have added this on our list and if it can be fixed from the theme’s files we will fix it, if not we will open a ticket at Visual Composer plugin support for it.
Thanks for reporting!
Hi,
Please make sure that you have updated and activated also the Social Counter plugin, install it from here – http://screencast.com/t/qauliNRwnyKe and check the version – http://screencast.com/t/Z7xQhguo3F
Now it should be available in Widgets section to add it in your sidebar(s) – http://screencast.com/t/0BGmdfTZG and also through the Visual Composer elements, just make sure that all elements are selected – http://screencast.com/t/NCsMouaiq – http://screencast.com/t/YCeRyZT6mjNl
Thanks!
Hi,
I have checked your site and you have some js errors in the console that may cause this issue – http://screencast.com/t/Imbv3nUDSMlq So please make sure that you test this without any plugins active, leave only Visual Composer, clear cache and purge your files if you use CDN. Also please disable all js/css minification and see if you still have this issue.
Thanks!
Hi,
Please make sure that you use the latest version of the theme 6.3.2 and check this without any plugins active except of Visual Composer, clear cache and purge your files if you use CDN. Also disable any css/js minifications.
You have these errors in the console that causing this issue – http://screencast.com/t/VVlOIgW74XE also you can disable lazy load effect if you don’t need it – http://screencast.com/t/oD1T5EktqTfv
Thanks!
Hi,
The wordpress top bar should not appear there and I think that it is caused by a plugin that you use. Please check this without any plugins active, leave only Visual Composer active, clear cache and see if you still have this issue.
Thanks!
Hi,
Please make sure that you check this without any plugins active except of Visual Composer, clear cache and see if you still have this issue. Also make sure that you use the latest version of Visual Composer provided with the theme files, delete the old version of the plugin and install/activate it from here – http://screencast.com/t/zhdYA8VHFP and check the version – http://screencast.com/t/yErx8GCe8g Let me know how it goes!
Thanks!
Hi,
Please check this without any plugins active except of Visual Composer, clear cache and see if you still have this gap. I f you don’t have this gap anymore, activate your plugins one by one and see which one caused this space.
I have inspected this on your site and you have a link there right after the body – http://screencast.com/t/Nec310sshJAN this creates that space – http://screencast.com/t/Q3oFMRZ9z you will have to find out which plugin add it or if you have any custom modifications please remove it.
Thanks!
Hi Andrei
I don’t think it was a css problem
I found in your documentation that Visual Composer only works in pages, not in articles!
So I created a new article with CLASSIC mode (not Backend editor) and then I set up its sidebar in Widget Area.
Now the whole article has the right width, included its bottom sections as author box, related content and comments.
Maybe you can add this information in your documentation so that people know how to create and manage sidebar for articles.
Hi,
Sorry for the delay, we take each message from the old ones to the newest. If you bump the message it will go among the latest and the reply time will be increased.
Did you solved this issue? Please check this without any plugins active, leave only Visual Composer active, clear cache and purge your files if you use CDN. If you have the js/css compressed please disable it.
If you still have this issue please provide a link so we can take a look, also you can try to disable lazy load effect from Theme Panel > Template Settings – http://screencast.com/t/mMkDL3Sk5LmV
Thanks!
And I do not want to use the visual composer for my posts. Just the default template with the sidebar enabled.
Hello,
Loving the Newspaper theme! However I have a quick question.
So through visual composer I chose a layout for the homepage and I made it quite similar to the following link:
http://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper_tech/
I noticed in the demo link, the grid images zoom in when hovered over.
On my website the grid layout is Big Grid 8 and running Grid style 2 and I cannot seem to get the same hover effect. I am sure I may have chose a wrong grid layout since maybe it could be a different style or a different grid. Is there any way to bring back the hover/zoom effect?
Thanks
Sonny
Usually due to not first turning off all plugins prior to upgrade; or turning off caching first.
Remember to delete old theme when doing updates, not simply over-write.
If using a child theme, remember to check changelog to see if child files also changed and need to be updated. Same with plugin versions included with theme.
Often if you need to “recover” — via ftp or via the hosting panel, rename your plugins folder to xplugins, then login. Then rename plugin folder back, and only turn on visual composer, then other plugs to determine if one is a conflict. Don’t use speedbooster unless everything else working.
Hope that helped 🙂
How to reorder column of visual composer on mobile view, For example column 1 on left and column 2 on right. when I access with mobile phone, I want it to be col2 and then col1 instead of col1 and then col2.
thanks
Hello, I know you are not the developers of Visual Composer but just integrated it, but I hope it is also in your own interest to help solving this bug. I cannot contact the developer because I have it only bought in package with Newspaper.
VC is taking out paragraphs in text blocks at each page update, when the mentioned TinyMCEAdvanced option is enabled. I created a short screencast to illustrate the issue:
https://app.box.com/s/nzdgx7p1hb2wfbbnbsgr7z6720doxz9a
Thanks for the great theme, now I just hope that I can use VC properly soon.
Sofian
I deleted the theme, reinstalled it, then checked for plugin compatibility. WPBakery Visual Composer seems to shut it down. Now my site is just broken, but still appears. 🙁
