Hello,
I have reinspected your website and I saw that your sidebar for post pages are not displayed on mobile devices. It’s strange! Please try to update the theme via FTP way, clear all the caches and remove all of the untested plugins and check the results.
Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!
Thanks for the message!
Hi,
Now that is an unusual issue you are having. So the social counter is not present neither as a composer element or widget
– https://www.screencast.com/t/f4Ll3FBe4iJG
There was no issue similar to this brought to our attention before, the social counter works properly in the theme. So the problem would be specific to your case.
If this element is not present in the composer you are using (seems to be an older version of Visual composer) and the widgets section, than there is a problem.
Either the theme is not installed properly, modifications have been made or maybe there is a plugin conflict.
You could start by deactivating all plugins except theme plugins, update the Visual composer you are using with the one in the theme package you downloaded (seems you have 8.5).
Ultimately try a theme re-install by FTP (either same version you currently, or download the latest version)

Let us know the results.
Thanks
Chris, are you tag div tech support? With 8000 posts, I guess you are that, or just marketing.
If you look at the emails sent to you weds, yesterday and today, you’ll find they include site logins, ftp logins and feedback from hosting, who spent a lot of time looking into this yesterday.
Fairly obvious catch-alls like disabling all plugins, removing and reinstalling td plugins, all that sort of stuff was done on wednesday. It was repeated by hosting yesterday, who took the time to also visit wponion.com to see what they could find there.

(currently on php7)

They pointed out that there is nothing else they can do or try, that none of my other wp sites have issues and that the error in any case only exists when a user tries to open td-composer.
Your own tech people have logged into the site twice today. I know they opened and tried to edit a couple of pages and looking also in my hosting files I can see they also accessed newspaper/includes/wp_booster/wp-admin/panel/td_view_system_status.php which I’m guessing gives them a rundown of the system, so they already know it is set up correctly.
The issue seems clearly related to td-composer. I’ve seen posts in various places about it, not just here, and it seems quite a few people have had and are having problems with td-composer not working for them. What I haven’t seen anywhere is a solution, which is very, very frustrating. I have been unable to continue working on my site for two whole days now.
That is unusual, I have tested with the latest version of the theme and Woocommerce plugin, there are no issues of this kind.
You could try a theme re-install by FTP
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/
Leave all non-theme plugins deactivated, use only theme plugins and woocommerce. Check the theme system status
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/
Ask your hosting provider to increase the allocated resources according to the guide, if needed.
Also check the PHP version you are using, the theme is tested with versions up to 7.1 others may cause issues.
Let us know the conclusions.
Thanks
Hello colby.duhon1,
Please try to make a new clean install from scratch via FTP way to another sub-domain for testing and check the results. These settings should be there all the time if the theme was installed according to our documentation. also, check the system status parameters to be increased according to our documentation.
Hope this helps!

Hello tonejarvis,
Make sure that you are using the latest version of the theme, installed via FTP way because this is the surest method in this case. Please check here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/ Notice that our theme works with wordpress.org and not dot com. update the theme according to our documentation because the Multi-Purpose plugin has been fully tested and should work as expected.

Hello tonima,
It’s strange! Notice that all the pages should have to be edited with our page builder. Check the System status parameters to be increased according to our documentation from here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/ Also, if the problem is still there, I suggest you make a new clean install from scratch via FTP way to another sub-domain and check the results.
Thanks for the message!
Hello Szentmaxi,
First of all, you should make a full backup to your database to avoid losing your data. After you have made the update, you should install the theme via FTP way, according to our documentation from here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-install-via-ftp/
Thanks for your understanding!
Hello gustavordaz,

Hello Suresh,
Remove all of the untested plugins if you are using something like this, clear all the caches, purge CDN files and check the results. If the problem is still there, please try to make a new clean install from scratch via FTP way to another sub-domain for testing and check the results. If you need more assistance, send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com with your log-in information (wp-admin) so we can further inspect it closer your setup page.

Hello Emma,
Most likely, this behavior happens due to your additional customizations or untested plugins used by you. I suggest you make a new clean install from scratch via FTP to another sub-domain for testing, without using untested plugins, clear all the caches and purge CDN file and check the results. For a correct theme install, please check the FTP documentation from here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-install-via-ftp/
Thanks for your understanding!
Hi Catalin,
I managed to get it to work via FTP as you suggested, thanks!
Hello strawberrybase,
If you recently switched to HTTPS make sure you have done it properly.
http://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-tutorials/how-to-add-ssl-and-https-in-wordpress/
https://css-tricks.com/moving-to-https-on-wordpress/
https://yoast.com/dev-blog/move-website-https-ssl/
https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/moving-to-ssl/
Also, make sure if you are using the latest version of the theme installed via FTP way. Check your plugin’s list and if you are using some untested plugins, try to disable all of them, clear all the caches and check the results. Before doing these steps, ensure that you have made a full backup to your database to avoid losing all of your data.
Thanks for your understanding!
Hello mhshoon,
Please notice that our recommended way for installing the theme is via FTP way because this is the surest method in this case. Please update the theme in that way according to our documentation from here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/

Hey
I have just used FTP to update to newspaper 8.6 and I have also updated the plugins that followed with the update, but “tagDiv Multi-Purpose” does not work at all, so I need some help getting it to work.
It is installed and active, but does not show its functions in the “tagDiv Composer!”.
Thanks
Roberto
Hi,
If the theme is uploaded properly there should be no problem. The most recommended method in the matter is by FTP
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/
You could try to reinstall the theme, reinstall all theme plugins from the latest theme package. The error seems to point to the tagDiv composer, deactivating it should have an effect.
If possible try deactivating all other plugins, leave only theme plugins active. Clear all caching after doing this and check the results.
Thanks
Now this is unusual, the default child theme contains no code that could affect the website and cause such issues.
The error seems to point to lines in the code that would be nonexistent, unless code was entered in the either theme functions file or child theme functions. Remove any code you might have entered in theme functions, and use a default child theme.
Indeed files have to be copied in the child theme if you want to modify them. The same directory path has to be created as in the main theme. In the tutorial it is mentioned what files can be customized through it.
If there is still an issue using a default child theme, send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide admin login information, as well as FTP access. Make a backup of the website before. Include a link to this topic in the email.
Thanks
Hello chazlight1,
Make sure that you are using the latest version of the theme, installed via FTP way, update the WordPress to the latest version of it, clear all the caches and check the results. Notice that we do not have any bad reports in this case until now. I have tested on my side and the category filter works as expected, without any problems. If the problem is still there, try to make a new clean install from scratch to another subdomain and it the behavior will the same, please send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com with your log-in information (wp-admin) so we can further investigate it closer your setup page. Very important is to disable the untested plugins if you are using something like this.

Dear tagDiv,
I have just purchased the “Newspaper” theme and I have tried to install it via wordpress, as you guys have stated in the online instructions.
I received the following message: “Security Alert. The file you are uploading was rejected by the server. It probably contains viruses or trojans that can damage your website. Do not attempt to upload it again as your IP address may be blocked.”
I then tried the other method which was to upload the newspaper.zip file via FTP. I did so, but when I logged into my wordpress site again, it does not show up under themes therefore there isn’t any way for me to activate it.
Could you please assist?
Thank you.
I deactivated the tagdiv composer. I reinstalled theme via FTP. I reinstalled wordpress. It’s still not working.
Hello Testspiel,
Please update the theme via FTP according to our documentation from here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-install-via-ftp/
Thanks.
Hello Marc,
Try to make a new clean install from scratch via FTP way to another subdomain, increased the system status parameters to be according to our documentation from here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/, install only the plugins that come bundled with the theme core files and check the results. After you have updated your theme, install your backup and check the results. Should working fine.

I have a fatal [Sat Jan 27 15:19:39.279740 2018] [:error] [pid 25500] [client 104.196.118.37:57392] PHP Fatal error: Cannot redeclare _check_isactive_widgets() (previously declared in /nas/content/live/feline13/wp-content/themes/Newspaper-child/functions.php:30) in /nas/content/live/feline13/wp-content/themes/Newspaper/functions.php on line 208, referer: http://purrview.com/wp-cron.php?doing_wp_cron=1517066378.8447420597076416015625
I asked WpEngine to try and resolve but they said it was in the child theme folder. I also tried uploading child theme via ftp and via theme upload.
It basically makes my site disappear and gives me a 500 error, Any advice I would really like to use your theme and I need a child theme so I don’t lose all my customizations when you update the core theme.
.
ps one thread said to update the main theme and then use the child theme, isn’t that backwards? don’t you mean update and customize the child theme so we don’t loose our customizations when you update the core theme?
Thanks, Tonia
Hi,
Indeed it seems the layout is broken at the moment, the page structure does not look right visually and code wise. There are also errors on the homepage only. First, if you are using Visual composer as the main page builder, please deactivate the tagDiv composer. When both editors are active there could be issues.
Also try a theme reinstall, maybe the update was not done properly. Try the FTP method
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/
Let us know the results.
Thanks
Hi,
The images are displaying fine at the moment from what I can see, on the whole website
– https://www.screencast.com/t/OA2JjvvyxQGs
Only the latest version is available for download. In order to update the theme please follow this guide
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/
The most recommended method would be by FTP, and as always make a backup first. Update the theme plugins as well (deactivate and remove, then reinstall from latest theme package).
Note that in version 8 of the theme, the tagDiv composer was introduced. This composer will be activated by default when the theme is updated or installed. In order to use it all the pages have to be recreated with it. Or you can continue using Visual composer for the moment, and make the transition when you want, if you want. More about it here
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/tagdiv-composer-tutorial/
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/visual-composer-tagdiv-composer-transition/
Also a multi-purpose plugin was introduced, this adds many more elements and options to the tagDiv composer only
– https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C0ARTSimnUY&t=287s
Visual composer (now WPBakery Page Builder) is still provided in the theme package and updates are included along with the theme
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-visual-composer-plugin/
Let us know if you should encounter issues after the update. It is a general recommendation to always keep WordPress and the theme updated.
Thanks
